You are charming. I have grown African Violets for years. I have usually a quarter to half of my collection in bloom. I enjoy the flowers so much that I window shop on Ebay and watch videos like yours. Your advice is very accurate for growing Violets in my opinion. The only thing I do different is that I usually add perlite to the soil when repotting. That is pretty much it. As for lighting, there is a led grow light that I bought at Home Depot. It is on a homemade 2 by 4 light stand and works wonderfully. 19 watts 12 hours a day. Cost about a couple of dollars a year. As for using a self watering pot, you are preaching to the choir. Although I prefer the wick self watering pots, self watering takes a lot of guesswork out of the growing. That is why I prefer the half perlite, half potting soil mix. Excellent soil mix in my humble opinion. I am surprised that you have not gotten many views, your video is excellent.
Wow! Thank you so much for the kind words! It's comments like this that keep me going! Perlite is a great additive. Thank you for that recommendation. Hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks for watching and commenting!
If using the self-watering pot, do you keep water in it, or just water it periodically to allow the plant to be watered much as you did when sitting the pot in the tray to water from the bottom? 9:39
Also these tips were very useful do you have any suggestions for African violet fertiliser also African violet I'm not sure which variety you have because mine have light green leaves helluva my leaves are almost like taller do you know if that's a good sign thank you
Do you have any tips for getting an African violet to flower again after it's flowers have died I purchase an African violet on discount without any flowers I do not know the colour and would like it to flower again do you have any tips
EDoes a ruffled/girl leaf AV need a different amount of light than plain leaf? Mine is in the same spot as all my others but doesn’t bloom. All of them are wicked.
I've never heard of soaking African violets for 12-24 hours. That's way too long. Mine never, ever take that long to soak up water. If you soak your African violets for that long, you are sure to cause root rot.
Thank you Dear ! For very knowledgeable Tips,! ❤😊
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge 👍🏻
My pleasure!

The two big things to help an African Violet to flower is proper food (fertilizer) and bright, but indirect light.

I would still recommend early morning light or filtered light.
