Would you ever do a review on Skinceuticals? I know their products are on the higher end, but I would like to see someone doing a near comprehensive review of their product range.
Paula's Choice was definitely the one that brought it to my attention first, but I don't think it would have gone as mainstream as it has if not for Drunk Elephant and The Ordinary.
Unfortunately DE, more specifically the founder Tiffany, definitely does demonize the “suspicious 6” and don’t take constructive criticism of their products. If you have a negative reaction to one of their products, they blame you and whatever non-DE products in your routine. The founder just creates so many problems for this brand that I can’t get myself to support them even though that have some of wonderful products.
I recently tried to chase them by saying that I reacted badly to a certain and they apologized and offered me a full refund! They have definitely changed. 🤷🏻
Thank you for this video. It's such a breath on fresh air to finally hear an unbiased review of drunk elephant. As an Asian (not a white mom! I'm referring to a comparison made by a youtuber) who have struggled with dry skin all my life, no drugstore products or high end brands that I had tried have done what drunk elephant products have done for my face. So no people, it is not overpriced drugstore skincare, even if it doesn't work for you.
Susan Yara is the only one I trust with skincare because she is not biased. And her reviews are always thorough. And notice that she shares both the pros and cons of each product. Not just either.
I’m not cancelling DE because of bad customer service or just because trendy skincare gurus say to. That’s not my problem, that’s their issues. I’m not letting others ruin my skincare experience. I had great customer service with DE and HORRIBLE from a ton of others company’s everyone here supports. So to me I use what works and DE works. I love their Retinol my skin LOVES it. Also I love Protini, La la Whip, C-Ferma, B-hydra, f-balm and Baby Facial. I love the deodorant too. I don’t watch Hyram, he’s too immature and misleading Seems like a bunch of younger kids on his channel ‘idolizing’ him and worshiping his ever word. He trashed DE after he started working for YT to the People. I think he let his personal life interfere with being a non bias Skincare guru. Plus he goes on and on about fragrance being the devil and I’m so over that. I love watching James and I was disappointed that he followed suit after Hyram did it with DE. It’s the one thing that I dislike about James. This cancel culture cause others are doing it is stupid. Their customer service has improved a lot but everyone holding on to that for dear life as an excuse why not to buy from them. None of which actually had bad experiences with their CS, just heard.
👍👏👏👏Thank you ....my thoughs exactly and I find him so patronizing. Just like Casandra Bankson.... ugh... I don't watch them anymore. Both are annoying 😩😩😩
@@LexiSpamzz you don't need a degree to be knowledgeable. Also it's his opinion he said he was not going to use it nor support it on his channel. He never told anyone not to use it.
this is actually a great video to realize everyones skin is different and sooo many people have different skin and preferences. just because someone hates a product because it didn't work for them, doesn't mean you should dismiss the product and not try it out. I actually think the umbra sheer sunscreen from drunk elephant was soooo good, and really loooove the cleansing balm. so always try something for yourself before you judge the product!!
No, we don't support intolerant brands. They don't support/respect her own customers, why would someone stand by that? I know this was filmed months ago, but still.
Was happy to watch this. The majority of skincare is Drunk Elephant, it’s one of the few brands I can trust to not irritate my skin or break me out. I also actually really adore the soap bars. And I hate Protini which always seems to stun people lol
When it comes to skincare, I worry about the products NOT the people behind the brand. I’m so glad there’s a video that talks about DEs best to worst products so I have some better knowledge on products from a brand I like things from. I have really sensitive skin and it’s hard to find things that don’t burn/irritate when used. I have loved drunk elephant since I tried it, and want to find out more about the products themselves rather than the drama
Kinda disappointed that you didn’t talk about the ingredients of the deodorant just because you hated the formulation! I love that they innovated with the ingredients with the mandelic acid in it. For anybody with darker underarms, I highly recommend it! I found it’s helped a lot with lightening my underarms!
Honestly this is *refreshing* . I definitively appreciate you acknowledge when a company does/creates great products/things. You aren’t letting your own personal work/business come in between you and your followers. I honestly disliked Hyrams video on DE (and many other brands) especially being that he definitely had that bias. It doesn’t take a genius to see that, he even acknowledged it that he was wrong in the comments but never pinned it for others to see. He has definitely tarnished my opinion of influencers’ recommendations, *_but you_* on the other hand, and cleaning the mess that many have made. *Thank you* for reminding everyone to form their own opinions like you, and that you should try things on your own, and not just form your opinions based on a 10mins video some person you don’t know is posting. You have definitely gained a different level of respect from me! Power to you sis!
Agreed 100%, Hyram's reviews are always too biased (even for skincare influencers' review which they already claimed to be personal). If you are influencers (a professional & grown-up one), you should know how to deliver your reviews in a way not to 'mislead' the consumers. That kid seriously lacks in that and I feel sorry for his mostly young followers being misguided by his immaturity. I like Susan, James, Liah, the 2 Korean ladies from Beauty Within's reviews because they all have what it takes.
I actually don't like hyram, But what's wrong with his video on DE? Is the fact that he doesn't want to buy from a company that treats its customers like sh*t makes him baised? Just because you don't care about the ethics of a brand, it means it's wrong to care about the ethics of the brand.
My Lovely Kittens Videos hey, sorry should’ve clarified a bit more. Hyram has know about these issues for a long time because everyone had brought them up in the past to DE and they cleaned up their mistakes. Hyram has been one of DE’s biggest supporters (and you can see based on his previous DE videos), the negative video on DE suspiciously came out *after* he got a job at *_Youth To The People_* , and his *YTTP* reviews in a sense replaced all the positive DE ones. Suspicious don’t you think? If you search through the comments of his video he does say that the founder of DE reached out and that we should *_celebrate progress in any form_*_ (and more)_ . So in a sense he’s apologizing and partially taking back what he intended the video to be, *hate DE and do not purchase* ,and now realized what he did wasn’t very professional or kind in any way. But rather then publicly saying this (his comment) out loud, he just wrote it in the comments section and didn’t even *pin in* for everyone to see. Therefor he wants his video to continue gaining views because it’s *hate* and *drama* and he wants people to continue *hating* on DE even though he truly likes the brands and is smart enough to understand that people make mistakes and progress has and continues to be made... but nobody can know that. As an influencer, it’s important to share your own personal opinions on topics or products, But I don’t think it’s fair when it’s misleading and benefitting them personally in certain ways and people are unaware, and just take your word for it. Its ruining the entire community and people will continue to distrust influencers, and unfortunately even the ones who are doing no wrong.
@@Christian14789 Great points, Didn't know that! Will check if they NOW treat their customers nicely.. If yes I won't hold grudges, But that proved to me that cassandra bankson is also here for views.. she has recently done a video on DE and I was quiet confused why would she dedicate a video talking about their topic when it's been a long time when it was a trend if that makes sense.. I think if she gets enough with saying that she isn't featuring them for their shady history I wouldn't mind, But it's been a year..
Christian C Yes! I’ve wondered about that. I watch Hyram and I’ve been confused on why he admitted in comments his video was wrong but then still never talks about DE. I watched him do a react video and the girl used ONE DE product and he was like, I’m not going to comment on the brand, and I was thinking, why? Your comment on your video admitted you were wrong and they were making progress but you can’t say “it’s a nice Cleanser”. It seemed really shady. I didn’t know about this all happening around the time he got a YTTP job though.
I bought drunk elephants retinol on your recommendation...could've sworn you used it in your routine? I got the red, flaky skin in the beginning and now I use it maybe twice a week at the most and it leaves my skin so soft and beautiful, it has improved my texture very much
Paula Of Paula’s Choice brought up fragrance and denatured alcohol in her book many moons again way before DE came on the forefront. She taught me so much.
When you mentioned the glycolic serum being tacky, I remember thinking the same thing when I first tried it - then I did some research and realized that all of their ingredients are made to be mixed together in what they call a "skincare smoothie" - so I started mixing it into the polypeptide cream! No more tackiness!
Hearing that part with soap bars made me a bit sad. Often companies make soap bars because it is more envoirenmentally friendly and impacts the envoirnment less than making liquid soap. The energy and resources used are less when making soap pars compared to liquid soap, while leaving a smaller CO2 print. :)
Actually soap bars are more environment friendly compared to shower gels etc. while I don’t know how good/bad DE soap bars are... soap bars are not be dismissed just because they can’t be packaged fancy.
Akshara I am a holistic master esthetician with over thirty years of practical knowledge with skin and skin products. I am 54 and I have never done anything invasive to my skin and I don’t even wear foundation or concealer. A bit about me😬 A bar of soap collects bacteria and fungus the moment you set it down, even if it is in a container. The next time you use it all of that Bacteria and fungus go right on your skin. We have natural bacteria and fungus always on our skin and it is when we activate it that we have an issue. I have three holistic skin care salons and I have seen hundreds of thousands of clients and we have seen this so many times. The moment we take a client off of their bar of soap their skin improves 100%. It’s the same with taking them off of foundation. I hope this helps. Just some extra info to help all of you have gorgeous skin. 🍑Lisa Peaches Skin Care
@@PeachesSkinCare first of all, soap (when used with water) kills bacteria and fungus. You can find out more about it on any reputable website (WHO, CDC just to name a few). This is the reason why proper hand washing with soap and water is more effective than hand sanitizer. Second, you CANNOT ACTIVATE bacteria and fungus. This is like saying you activate a cat, a human, a fish, a tree. You just cannot. They are living organisms and they are either alive or dead. Finally, just because 100% of your client experienced skin improvement after they stopped using soap bar, it doesn't not mean that soap bar contributes to skin improvement. Correlation does not equal to causation. Soap is soap, in a bar or in a bottle.
erebusalice We agree to disagree. I have practical knowledge with skin it is not always just science it can be holistic. You can absolutely activate fungus and bacteria on your skin, with bad products or foundation or moisture or a dirty pillowcase. What do you think an allergic reaction or a pimple is? Yeast? Yes we wash our hands, but using a pump hand wash is far better than a bar of soap that sits in moisture or goodness knows what until you use it again. Bacteria lives in the slime ( if you will). Many of the bacteria that get on the soap can actually come from your skin. I am not saying that if you rinse your soap and let it dry out you may have a better outcome but given the choice between a bar of soap that you leave out and a closed container with a pump is a lot safer choice. I say this with absolute respect for your opinion and I love being able to discuss different points of view and learn from others. 🍑Lisa Peaches Skin Care
erebusalice To be more precise and I appreciate you helping me to do that. You are creating an environment that help the fungus or bacteria to create adverse reactions. Great talk!!!
@@PeachesSkinCare if a product is formulated with preservatives it isn't going to harbor bacteria or "activate" bacteria that isn't a thing. Also there ain't anything inheritantly more hygienic about bar soap vs any other kind of soap. The bacteria that is in the soap bar is your own bacteria is it isn't unsafe or likely to cause problems at all
I know DE is expensive and problematic in several ways, but MAN does my skin love it! My oily, acne prone, PIH prone skin loves Protini, C Firma, TLC Framboos, A Passioni, and Slaii. Drunk Elephant was one of the first “serious” skincare brands I used and as I stepped out and explored other brands more, the more I appreciate that DE had no fragrance across the board!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I know the DE customer service is an issue but I like hearing about the products themselves and getting your perspective of what products are and are not worth the hype. ♥️
@@carlyduhlesseo3199 Patent law is very complex so until the courts decide I won't take a stance on that point. If Drunk Elephant did actually steal a patent that is absolutely wrong. However, dupes happen in the industry and patents are not as easy as companies can't use certain ingredients in their skincare. It's about formulations and the specific language of the patent.Other brands combine Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid.
I was so excited when I saw you did a review on DE, it made my night! I love your honest feedback, and agree for the most part, this brand has some incredible skin care.
I actually really loved their deodorant. The mandelic acid is super effective for me personally but since I'm trying to transition away from using their products I've recently switched to the Kosas deodorant which works just as well in my opinion. It also has the mandelic acid in it but the consistancy of the product is a lot nicer. And as far as I can tell, Kosas is a much better company to support.
I love their deo too!! Sweating in the pits is very normal and I've been reading from different places that antiperspirant is actually not good for one's health. It is not natural to block or prevent your skin from perspiring. What deo is for me is to prevent or remove the bacteria that builds in the underarm
Try the soap bars. That is exactly what you should try. My skin always looked great with them. Lasts longer than the Beste which goes fast since they reformulated and you need more to get clean
NIce video. I like the manner in which you hold the product so viewers can see and take note of the product. Most influencers don;t show the product or are talking and moving it all around. Thank you.
I understand there’s a lot of drama around the brand but as I’m someone who doesn’t care about beauty community drama in general I’ll throw my 2cents in’s I’ve tried the entire line up like Susan and the reality of the situation is even though DE has bad customer service, she’s dead on about a lot of these reviews and almost all their skincare products are actually quite good and more importantly very effective. Some are just alright but maybe they work really well for others. Yes, DE is expensive, but they’re effective; and I think that’s the most important thing to focus on. Are you getting results for the price? And that depends entirely on how much you are willing to pay for skincare, so for a lot of people the answer is no and for a lot of other people the answer is yes. It’s a personal choice.
All the TH-cam skincare influencers were so in love with DE a few years ago. They got on the bad side of a few influencers and now no one talks about them. I personally love Drunk Elephant. I purchase their products when they have a good coupon deal.
Because over priced products are more likely to draw people's attention and gives you the illusion that they're high quality. lmao marketing 101 strategy
@@chiangsean9554 most of my skincare's products are drug-store or cheap (but effective) becoz I' dun have much money for skincare. But I dun mind buying a few more expensive ones if THEY WORKS. I using Dermalogica Exfoliant and cannot live withouth it. In Drunk Elephant cases, I tried from my friends' ones but nothing actually WOW me. What thay have, Ordinary have so I dun think I will spend that on theirs.
If you look at the ingredients. They are using some ingredients that you don’t find in other products. Honestly i hate they being rude to their customers but after shiseido bought the company. They have changed which being respectful to their customers rn. I’m using their umbra sheer and beste cleanser. I love them
Don't like the price of DE, and don't think the products are super great, but....I use because, I have very sensitive eyes and these products do NOT make my eyes red and burn! I am 56 years old and have tried many, many different brands and products, and these products just work for me and my eyes.
Can confirm the Protini moisturizer is great on my oily skin! Its so hard to find a nighttime moisturizer that doesn't feel like this gross oily mask before I go to bed because they all tend to be really thick. Really appreciate that it also doesn't contain dimethicone which is hard to find in a nighttime moisturizer.
BAR SOAP DEFENSE: They travel so much better. TSA considers bar soap as a solid, so they are not taking up the very limited liquid space. Europe is especially stringent on limiting liquids on planes, and I have literally had to decide which products to throw in the trash in front of their air security team because they really would not let me bring my extra cleansers, because it’s totally threatening to have too many skincare products🙄. Also, they don’t spill all off your carry on. Also, as long as the ingredients are sustainable, bar soaps are more sustainable because they don’t transport any water or plastic (they’re usually in a compact cardboard box.) CeraVe cleansing bar IMO is a very sophisticated formulation for the drugstore price point and it makes my body look and feel baby soft. Don’t use it on the face, though, it’s not really good for that type skin, but the body is right. The Drunk Elephant bar is still not worth it, IMO, just get the CeraVe bar if you’re curious.
I personally absolutely adore the Drunk Elephant Pekee Bar! (the "regular" non-exfoliating one) I have dry, sensitive skin with rosacea and I was super skeptical about this, but it genuinely works so well and doesn't leave a tight or "sticky" feeling to my face. It also dries quickly so I'm not too worried about bacteria. It's super underrated and I pray they don't discontinue it 🌸
Paris Sinclair i agree. I really adore the bars. I mean yes, they aren’t as elegant to use but they work so well. The PeeKee bar is so gentle and soothing and I like the juju bar as well.
You people are insane. If you don’t like the product don’t use it. I love the product. These reviews are for everyone, and all price points. I personally think Susan does a great job and I respect her opinion. This is about skincare not customer service. Keep it up Susan.
People are saying the customer service is rude but I once asked a question to them, “if men can use their products too” and the person who answered me gave me a whole explanation on the difference of men and women skin. Maybe I was just lucky 😅😅
I love it!!!! ❤❤❤❤ been waiting for someone to review Drunk Elephant so I can have a slightest idea on what to purchase or not because it is an expensive brand . More product reviews please. 🙏🙏🙏🙏... I love the Krave beauty reviews too. Keep it up ☺
I love the deodorant. The mandelic acid really helps with the smell & sweat. It's also creamy & non irritating. 10/10 would recommend. It's not a product that works the first time, you need to use it consistently because it works similarly to an exfoliator as it eats away at sweat & the smell. It's great!
Please do a skincare collaboration video with James welsh,Gothamista,Cassandra bankson & Beauty within Please do skincare routine for combination and acne prone skincare routine Please include boosters & routine finder for easy purchase of products in ur brand please
From a dude's perspective, the deodorant and bar soaps are pH balancing so they actually protect against body funk...in all the areas... everywhere. 😄 Also, as someone with extremely oily/shiny olive skin, I have learned to really love the Umbra Sheer SPF. I apply 2 to 3 layers, blot off lightly, and I find it balances out my skin, doesn't break me out, and doesn't leave a cast. Like all SPFs, I do have to wipe it off of my beard and hairline, but it's no biggie.
Despite all the drama and stuff, I’m still thankful to DE that it has changed my skin lol I love protini, f-balm, lala retro, sukari baby facial, TLC night serum and A-passioni. I like jelly cleanser, B-hydra as well but they can be easily duped. people always complain on the price on the marula oil, yes it’s true, it’s pricey but the formulation is so different and absorbed sooooo well. I don’t think they are demonising the suspicious 6, it actually helps some people to realise probably you should try to take out something from your skincare routine to see if it helps change your skin.
So many mixed reviews on Drunk Elephant. My skin loves it. It is very pricy for me but the two sometimes three face products I use are amazing. I was surprised the whipped cream was on your medium section. That’s my favorite. Thank you for doing this and sharing your thoughts
Their customer service is extremely cheap, and they are rude to the bone... never purchased and will never purchase, and sorry Susan, i won't complete this video.
Is this recent? Since under shiseido or before? Also, it’s a bit different to see so many comments on their customer service but “all” of the skincare I get from big brands is from retailers. Unless it’s a indie brand, my interaction is via Sephora or ulta.

I ordered the retinol from them and had a bad reaction for 2 months. They gave me a full $70 refund, no questions asked on their part and gave me tips in case I wanted to try it in the future. I’ve have perfectly good service from them 💁🏻♀️ not saying there are not bad experiences but most companies have a couple bad personal moments because we are all human.
Honestly she is so onpoint I have the whole line of drunk elephant that I purchase with my own money because I'm not a TH-camr wish I was and all her love is completely right the eye cream don't do nothing for you it haircare don't do nothing for you good job
Agree with Protini being their best product - too bad we can’t get it in Australia as the peptides aren’t approved here. Lala retro whipped cream mixed in with their B-Hydra has worked well enough for me though. So much hate for DE in these comments but i don’t know the background on the drama 🤷🏻♀️
B. Domingo do your research on the drama then. They are horrible to customers and to other influencers who say they don’t like their products. I excused that behaviour until their black lives matter issues where so many influencers called them out on being unsupportive
i2u4n okay then, clearly you’re not someone who puts their money where their morals are, or you just don’t support black lives matter. Either way I don’t see how that’s funny
Well, Susan was saying she didn’t understand why people use them. I was just giving her a reason in case she hadn’t considered it. Don’t really see the point to your comment: didn’t really contribute anything to the video.
Wow! Interesting! I actually really like their sunscreen ! It has a weird after smell but it doesn’t leave a white cast on my skin as a POC. It does flake on my eyebrows. I’m on the hunt for sunscreens!
i noticed your skin look so much healthier not like it wasn't before but more youthful now and no more dark sports. Could you please make a video of these improvement? I have some sun spot and never go away after my second pregnancy. Thank you in advance!!!!
I wouldn’t avoid a brand just because other influencers ‘cancelled it’, the DE price point however is a big deal breaker for me especially when there are brands out there doing great effective formulations for a lot less 🤷🏻♀️
I loved this video!! Super helpful and fun to watch! I was wondering if you would do more videos like these for brands like First Aid Beauty and the Ordinary?
From what I hear fragrance may not irritate you immediately after use but the cumulative effect of fragrance over the years can cause major problems down the line. Also re the retinol serum and the irritation, that’s a super strong active, fragrance aside. I’m going fragrance free from now on either way.
I absolutely love drunk elephant 🐘 there products have been so amazing for my skin 🥰 another amazing brand is fresh! Would you consider doing one of these videos for the fresh brand?? I would love to see that 😊
I guess I'm old fashioned, because I love using bars of soap to cleanse my body (not my face)! I don't like liquid body washes at all. And the plastic bottles they are packaged in just create more unnecessary waste.
Loved this video. So, Susan will your line have a cleansing balm soon? ☺️ I prefer cleansing balms instead oil ... I like your opinions in this video - only one that I tried and didn’t like in the past is the vitamin C. But I will now try 3 products out of this video
didn't know they are bought by Shiseido, good for them, i guess it will give DE access to Shiseido's research, like sunscreens, Shiseido is one of the best in this category. So far there is not much R&D effort in DE's products.
I’ve heard that it can take up to a few months/weeks for your skin to get used to the retinol, and after that it starts to change your skin. Is this true?
Yes. The timeline is different for everyone. There's definitely an adjustment period and it takes around 6 months for most to see visible results. Although I've been using Drunk Elephant's retinol for about 2 mos now and I'm already seeing improvement with my hyperpigmentation from sun damage!!
I kinda wonder what you are considering you don't seem to know how retinols work..? Or did I miss something? It is supposed to "irritate" your skin, you're supposed to use it once a week first and slowly move up to twice a week but it is giving away an irritated feel because it speeds up the cell turnover in the skin.
Your hair isn't complicated! It just does not fit white beauty standards. A lot of people with textured hair think their hair is "difficult" or "complicated", and end up treating it harshly, when in fact it is even more delicate than straight hair. Its not complicated, the information needed to properly care for it has been suppressed, and one type of hair made to seem like the ideal. (This comment has nothing to do with the drunk elephant hair care not working, it is just about the "complicated" hair comment). Your hair is beautiful Susan!
Totally agree with you on the body products having fragrance in them! I have a whole collection of shower gels just because they I love the different scents!
Not all the products in the description were mentioned? Also when you talked about the sunscreen it would be useful to know what you didn't like about it, "I hate it" isn't helpful.
I absolutely love drunk elephant! Totally thrown off by these comments because yes it’s a little pricey but a little goes a long way I have never had an issue with any of the products I have purchased and I will keep purchasing works for me and the anti pollution drops make me look like a beautiful bronze goddess 😊
Ikr. The comments are so mean and even some of them throwing hatreds without even using the products. I love their umbra sheer and beste cleanser plus little goes along the way.
Agreed. I love lots of their products that have completely cleared up my acne and I have had great experiences with their customer service. All the ones here hating on it never even tried it. They are all grasping on to the bad customer service thing that has improved 10 fold since that happened.
Loveee their Hydrating B serum I know they get a lot of shit for their customer service or whatever but this product helps my perioral dermatitis better than anything else I’ve tried (I have VERY dry super super sensitive skin)
Spinning a narrative that she doesn't care is ignorant. She filmed this months ago and regardless of the brand it is obvious people use the brand or are interested to know if the hype is valid. You can acknowledge a brand has decent products but prefer supporting other brands who have comparable products at the same time. The two are not mutually exclusive. For example, Hyram has stated he no longer supports DE but he doesn't do a 180 on his views on the specific product formulations.
@@carlyduhlesseo3199 their customer service yes...their court case hasn't been decided on so that is still speculative. However, people still want to know about the products and formulas.
Tarcha review??? Have you tried the Skinceuticals retinol cream? I actually like their soap bars, it somehow cleans my blackheads without drying out my skin
The Tsukari facial I haven’t found anything that works like this. Everyone try and compare the ordinary blood facial but that burnt my skin and me being darker skin anything that burns will leave a scar. Although that exfoliant is rough it works well and doesn’t leave me damaged. So thank you for that recommendation ❤️❤️❤️
I have to agree with you their retinol cream gave me the worst irritation. My face and neck got so irritated, red and swollen. Their sunscreen is the WORST, I thought it'd be the best sunscreen and after trying it I got so disappointed.
I used both protini and lala retro, I preferred lala in the winter because living in Toronto when temperatures fall below -10, skin can become dry very quickly.
As far as the hair products, as a cosmetologist I can tell you that they are not worth the price tag even if you do have a sensitive scalp and need fragrance free. If you do have a sensitive scalp and need fragrance free, but want something that is still kind of a treat and not so clinical, Kristen Ess has a beautiful fragrance free line that is super effective and you can find it at an affordable price point at target. Skip Drunk Elephant on this one.
I disagree with the Shampoo/ Conditioner & Tangle tamer. I have coloured hair and it tends to be dry.....but I have to say, after using the Shampoo/ Conditioner......WOW. My hair felt AMAZING!! Normally I feel like my hair has stuff on it......like a coating and I use high end salon products. These left my hair feeling clean and smooth. I agree that the scent needs to be amped up but I love them. The Vitamin C serum is so good. I have typical redhead skin- sensitive and moody. It is great for me!!!

I just watched Hyram's No more Drunk Elephant before this hahaha. Whatta coincidence.
Wow you can really dance
@@davidschonfeldwichers8981 I'm sorry?
omg same 😂
@@SrushtiDeshpande my thoughts exactly! Is he referring to Hyram's shoulder shimmy? 😞

None of which actually had bad experiences with their CS, just heard.
exactly!!
👍👏👏👏Thank you ....my thoughs exactly and I find him so patronizing. Just like Casandra Bankson.... ugh... I don't watch them anymore. Both are annoying 😩😩😩
I was disappointed Hyram! He doesn’t even have a degree or anything to give him knowledge!
THIS!!!! perfectly said, I have the same feelings on the matter.
Exactly! That’s why it’s important to point out it’s personal. People on my team love products that I don’t, and that’s ok!
The Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer SPF 30 is terrible for pilling. Oh my.
She absolutely does, but here goes Susan trying to make her sound wonderful. What happened to the old Susan?
If you don’t reapply or if you’re not wearing makeup it’s not a factor. You lay it on your Skin instead of rubbing it a lot so it pills
Tainted Life I shall try it again. On bare skin.
I have a tips. Mix the umbra sheer with an oil. I mix umbra with sunday riley ceo glow. It works wonder
Sundara Daya so far it’s working good for me.
No, we don't support intolerant brands. They don't support/respect her own customers, why would someone stand by that? I know this was filmed months ago, but still.
A decision to support one brand or not is a personal decision, though. 'We' should not be speaking for others. :)
Who cares if Drunk Elephant were rude to their customers.
@@razone4317 "we" as the ones who stand against that brand.

Carlos Guajardo I should have said I don’t care if they were rude. 😛
Agree 100%
So true!!
Agreed. I love bars of soap. I'm preparing to even start making soap at home.
Actually soap bars are more environment friendly compared to shower gels etc. while I don’t know how good/bad DE soap bars are... soap bars are not be dismissed just because they can’t be packaged fancy.

I am a holistic master esthetician with over thirty years of practical knowledge with skin and skin products. I am 54 and I have never done anything invasive to my skin and I don’t even wear foundation or concealer. A bit about me😬
A bar of soap collects bacteria and fungus the moment you set it down, even if it is in a container.
Soap is soap, in a bar or in a bottle.
erebusalice
We agree to disagree.
🍑Lisa Peaches Skin Care
erebusalice
To be more precise and I appreciate you helping me to do that.
The bacteria that is in the soap bar is your own bacteria is it isn't unsafe or likely to cause problems at all
I love the scent of the baby facial I have no idea why but it makes me happy
I know DE is expensive and problematic in several ways, but MAN does my skin love it! My oily, acne prone, PIH prone skin loves Protini, C Firma, TLC Framboos, A Passioni, and Slaii. Drunk Elephant was one of the first “serious” skincare brands I used and as I stepped out and explored other brands more, the more I appreciate that DE had no fragrance across the board!
Same! Where I have found better products I have switched but some products are seriously so great on my skin so I'll keep repurchasing.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I know the DE customer service is an issue but I like hearing about the products themselves and getting your perspective of what products are and are not worth the hype. ♥️
Not just customer service they stole a patent product. No buy for me they are too many dupes for their products anyway for half the price.
Carly D'Alessio what patent product? Is the the skinceuticals serum?
@@A.R.S.1309 yes that is the patent in question.
Thank you.
I absolutely adore the hair care! My hair feels incredible
I understand there’s a lot of drama around the brand but as I’m someone who doesn’t care about beauty community drama in general I’ll throw my 2cents in’s
I’ve tried the entire line up like Susan and the reality of the situation is even though DE has bad customer service, she’s dead on about a lot of these reviews and almost all their skincare products are actually quite good and more importantly very effective.
Thank you
All the TH-cam skincare influencers were so in love with DE a few years ago. They got on the bad side of a few influencers and now no one talks about them.
I personally love Drunk Elephant. I purchase their products when they have a good coupon deal.
So glad you decided to share this video with us!!
Why are DE's products so expensive? They have good formula or something becoz all of ingridients are just... normal?
Because over priced products are more likely to draw people's attention and gives you the illusion that they're high quality. lmao marketing 101 strategy
@@chiangsean9554 most of my skincare's products are drug-store or cheap (but effective) becoz I' dun have much money for skincare. But I dun mind buying a few more expensive ones if THEY WORKS. What thay have, Ordinary have so I dun think I will spend that on theirs.
If you look at the ingredients. They are using some ingredients that you don’t find in other products. Honestly i hate they being rude to their customers but after shiseido bought the company. Don't like the price of DE, and don't think the products are super great, but....I use because, I have very sensitive eyes and these products do NOT make my eyes red and burn! I am 56 years old and have tried many, many different brands and products, and these products just work for me and my eyes.
Susan looks stunning with this hairstyle😍
I saw you didnt mention Lala. How do you feel about that moisturizer?
It's super underrated and I pray they don't discontinue it 🌸
Totally! If there's ANY time to have soap bars, it's 2020. The world doesn't need more plastic packaging.
Paris Sinclair i agree. I really adore the bars. I mean yes, they aren’t as elegant to use but they work so well. The PeeKee bar is so gentle and soothing and I like the juju bar as well.
There bar soaps are actually good. For someone that travels a lot I thanks these bar soaps since I already have enough little skincare bottles.
It's great!

I LOVE DE!! It’s my absolute favorite high end brand. Like you said there are some duds, but all in all it’s a must for my routine.
Which is why I’m so sad that the owner is a bad person

Never purchased but also no experience with them?
Tainted Life honestly i love their umbra sheer because that the only sunscreen that does not irritate my skin plus you got a lot of product. It’s 90ml
Is this recent? Since under shiseido or before?
Also, it’s a bit different to see so many comments on their customer service but “all” of the skincare I get from big brands is from retailers. Unless it’s a indie brand, my interaction is via Sephora or ulta.

Hey Susan, can the protini moisturiser be used during pregnancy?
I loved this video!! Super helpful and fun to watch! I was wondering if you would do more videos like these for brands like First Aid Beauty and the Ordinary?
From what I hear fragrance may not irritate you immediately after use but the cumulative effect of fragrance over the years can cause major problems down the line. Also re the retinol serum and the irritation, that’s a super strong active, fragrance aside. I’m going fragrance free from now on either way.

I’ve never seen someone not like something bc the way it looks. Girl if it works and it’s worth it. Who cares how it looks.
didn't know they are bought by Shiseido, good for them, i guess it will give DE access to Shiseido's research, like sunscreens, Shiseido is one of the best in this category.
Hi! Can you tell me what make up you are wearing in this video? You look amazing.
Your tips and recommendations are so helpful ❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much

Can you do another retinol video? I've been using the Shani Darden but I'm not sure what to try next.
SUSAN YOUR HAIR WE LOVE IT
Loveee their Hydrating B serum I know they get a lot of shit for their customer service or whatever but this product helps my perioral dermatitis better than anything else I’ve tried (I have VERY dry super super sensitive skin)
Periodt. I love their umbra sheer and beste cleanser
I have dermatitis and nothing worked, i have to try the serum 😁
I am very dry and do like Protini but I have to top it was a face oil. Otherwise it’s to drying for me.
love how no matter how shady is a brand, you don't care💀
Spinning a narrative that she doesn't care is ignorant. She filmed this months ago and regardless of the brand it is obvious people use the brand or are interested to know if the hype is valid. You can acknowledge a brand has decent products but prefer supporting other brands who have comparable products at the same time. The two are not mutually exclusive. For example, Hyram has stated he no longer supports DE but he doesn't do a 180 on his views on the specific product formulations.
@@amlatorre They were bad more than 3 months ago.
@@carlyduhlesseo3199 their customer service yes...their court case hasn't been decided on so that is still speculative. However, people still want to know about the products and formulas.
@@dan2656 they were bad since a year ago, Way before she filmed this
Tarcha review???
Have you tried the Skinceuticals retinol cream?
I actually like their soap bars, it somehow cleans my blackheads without drying out my skin
Agree their sunscreens suck! I thought I got a bad one exchanged it NOPE they just suck it feels tacky and grainy almost. Love the protini though
I've never used an anti-persperant that didn't keep me from losing half my body weight in sweat 🤣
Susan what are your thoughts on Goop Beauty?
