MICHEL! Thank you so much for reviewing DE! I have definitely had a major crush on them (from a distance lol) but haven't had the guts to buy their products because I wasn't sure which were worth it. My skin is more on the dry side, so I'm always thankful when you review skincare products cause it helps me figure out what new things I should try :)

I confess I'm a DE addict, the Beste No. 9 cleanser started it all. Much of the price comes from the airless pump packaging that extends the life of most products. I ask for the expensive products for every gift from family and friends, and buy the cheaper stuff myself. Ironically I hate the sunscreen and had to switch to SuperGoop ZincScreen. Thanks for the honest review! It was an enjoyable video.

I went and bought the Drunk Elephant sample kit from Sophia.. kinda pricey $90 but a little bit goes along way! I absolutely love these products!! I have tried so many products for break outs and dry, wrinkly skin and by far those have cleared up my skin and smoothed it out! Thank you for the review. I love to try the sample sizes first so wasting money!

  • @chrissymaccaro7298

With my experience with DE, the products are truly amazing and help your skin so much. One of the main goals DE advertises is managing and balancing the PH in your skin. With that being said, once you stop using all the products at once your skin, like mine, could take a huge toll. My advice- if you can continue to use DE in the future do it! if not, slowly weed out products one by one so your skin's PH is not completely shocked which will result in huge breakouts! Love your videos!!

This is SO interesting, I agree generally with what you've said although I actually had the opposite reactions to some things. I didn't have any problems with the baby facial but had a lot of irritation with the protini! Just goes to show how things differ from person to person. But I do love the line by and large and thank you so much for reviewing it! The only thing I'd say is that the marula oil can be gotten from different brands in Whole Foods for MUCH cheaper :)

I refuse to buy from Drunk Elephant but I love your content so here I am. I just feel like you are so down to earth and relatable. You genuinely make it feel like we're just chatting like friends
As for skincare, the less I do, the better my skin does. I am doing my best to remember SPF every day and a weekly The Ordinary facial. But other than that, not much. I wash makeup off with various products and don't have a set routine. I want to, but like I said, the less I do to my skin, the better

It's still set for the TeeSpring collection. Is there any way to change it to your Janse the Label products? I use the TLS Sukari facial. It’s one product to work up to for sure. I’ve used little samples and finally bought the full sized last year. I still can’t wear it longer than 10 minutes, and I still find it effective. I think if yo I leave it on longer than your skin can handle you’ll do more damage than good, but for as long as you can comfortably handle it, I think it’s good, but no need to feel like you need to keep it on for 20 minutes

I’ve only tried hydrating serum in white/blue bottle, and it’s AMAZING. Not enough hydration for drier days, but I compensate it with the ordinary hyaluronic acid serum. I’m on a natural side regarding skin products, before trying drunk elephant I’ve been using pai skincare. I decided to try something new and I don’t regret I bought drunk elephant product. Def recommend, no pimple, no irritation, just soft and smooth skin. After watching this video I wanna try spf cream, jelly cleanser and protein cream. I’ll write my own review here when I try those 😍

The only skincare I use daily is from The Body Shop, because a friend gifted me a set 😅 I only look for a couple of products: moisturiser with sun protection, an exfoliator for face and body, and tea tree products because they minimise my spots. I'm definitely more of a makeup lover than a skincare one, I don't find it as exciting haha 😂

Someone gifted me with a little nag full of mini Drunk Elephant products. I have the jelly cleanser, c-firma day serum, b-hydra hydration serum, TLC framboos night serum, Virginia marula facial oil, protini face cream and the umbra sheer sun screen. The vitamin C serum does smell weird and I find that it dries very quick once I apply it. And after my skin care, my skin feels a bit tight around my throat zone. Not sure which product is causing this, but it may be the cleanser. I've been using cerave and Cetaphil products for months and maybe my skin is just trying to adapt to the new products

Essential oils are actually phenomenal in skincare when diluted with a carrier oil and have been used for thousands of years for the skin (think Frankincense) but it of course depends on the brand... most brands are labeled "for aromatic use only" versus topical and dietary. My skin has never been better since I consistently use my glow serum, spot treatment, face wash, face scrub, and even face masks all made with essential oils. :)

    • @lewis19701
      @lewis19701 ปีที่แล้ว

First of all, face scrubs are stripping and horrible for your face, second of all essential oils are not “phenomenal” in skincare, they are very fragranced and not good for skin.

I am by no means an expert, but experts have told me this: the most important aspect of anti aging is sun protection, and retinols are not so great. They are typically very pricey, and over the counter versions are not proven to be super effective. They aren’t as easy for your skin to use, as they must be converted to a different form, retinoids. You can buy retinoids, but they are prescription (unless you buy the one for acne, adapaline, which is not proven to help with anti aging). The prescription, more effective retinoids are called tazarotene, and tretinoin. Even these are not perfect, as they can be expensive, and irritate the skin even more than retinols. The most important thing is definitely wearing sunscreen no matter the season, rain or shine.
Sorry if this was super confusing 😂 I’m also not an expert in eloquence
Please let me know if you have any corrections or additions!

Watching tthis two years later and all the rage are the chemical sunscreens from Korea/Japan. Also its very easy to get these products significantly cheaper if you know where to look, to the point that paulas is more expensive. Also that ham smell is Ferulic Acid which is in a ton of Vitamin C serums due to the patent/research by skinceuticals.

I do get a few items
    The cost is the problem.
Great products but out of control pricing. I can find a lot of dupes for tremendously lower prices. Same results.

Hi Michel :D If you are still using Curology and your treatment contains Tretinoin, then you already have vitamin A (retinol) covered. Personally I think Drunk Elephant has lovely packaging but is vastly overpriced, there are great alternatives from companies like The Ordinary, Paula's Choice etc. CereVe does a great PM Moisturizer that contains Niacinamide (Vitamin B) for a fraction of the cost.

I’ve heard that because the babyfacial has a active ingredients, it’s best to not use directly after showing or washing the face/damping the fact for around 20 minutes to avoid the rough tingling.

After using DE for two years daily the products I think are worth it, shown results and I will continue to use are:
C-Firma, B-Hydra, C-Tango, Shaba Complex, Protini Moisturizer & I have added the Protini Powerserum about 2 months ago and am really enjoying that as well as a new release.

Don’t be afraid of silicones and chemical sunscreens. These things are both perfectly fine to use on your skin! As silicone is used in emergency medicine for wound healing, and chemical sunscreens may be irritating for some but all in all they are perfectly fine

I’ve tried a lot of skincare products, from western to kbeauty brands and i found out my skin doesn’t like heavily filled silicone products and allergic to chemical uv filters. Lala retro whipped cream literally my HG for helping my skin to heal.

Check out Kat Nord’s channel. Excellent content. She backs up her information with science. There are many less expensive products that are as good if not better than DE. I’m not going to gross you out with a story, just pass on some of the DE. More expensive doesn’t mean better. Also, Dr. Dray finds great options for every budget, she’s a Dermatologist. Check her channel as well. Then you can take good care of yourself and splurge wisely. I wouldn’t steer you wrong. 😉

I love the review, but please don't take the word of youtubers who say "x is bad for you, throw out any products that have it." Unless they have science or medical degrees, it is purely their opinion. Fragrance can be irritating for very sensitive skin types, for other people it's totally fine. My favorite sunscreen, unseen by supergoop, has silicone and it's great for oily skin. A lot of products have it and there is no conclusive scientific proof that it, or chemical sunscreens, are bad for you. Chemical sunscreens may be reef-bleching, but again, there isn't conclusive proof yet. It's great to avoid things that may be bad for you/the environment, but there's no need to demonize certain ingredients.
