I'm looking into getting these for my garage. but i'm unclear on this whole 10v dimming stuff. What all do I need to buy from OG? I was going to get some 8 ft Fixtures. If I dont really care about the dimming, will I be able to just wire them into the normal wires currently powering my garage lights? Or are the powpaks still needed
If youre ok running them at full brightness you can just buy the lights and wire up the hot and neutral like normal. There will be two other wires in the fixture, purple and grey, and you will need to leave them disconnected. they come with wago push terminals on them IIRC, just leave them be, and the lights will run full brightness. No powpak required. If you connect the purple and grey to each other, the lights will dim fully to 1% If you want to be able to make the lights be at any brightness between 1 and 100, you need a vive. the cool part about the vive is that your existing wiring in the wall doesnt matter, the pico control the vive wirelessly and you just hang the vive off the side of the light and wire it in.
Looking to do a similar set up. What type of wire did you use for the 10v to the powpak? I like that it’s sleeved.
its 18/2 "bell wire" its technically for setting up a doorbell or something like that but works great for this.
