Emily, I’ve only just discovered your channel, and I love your style and humour. I’m 61 and still learning, so thank you for all your tips and outfits.
Thank you for saying that jewelry can be a third layer. I live in southern Florida where many days are so hot, I want credit for my bra to be a third layer (maybe I should make that a t-shirt saying). On those days, I put on dangly earrings because I can't bear to wear even a watch or necklace.
Same here. That would be very helpful. I usually dress better when I weigh less. But how can I be stylish even when plumper? It's so hard to feel inspired when heavier, and I tend to just wear leggings and baggy sweaters. How boring.
I love the pop of layer! Yesterday I wore a long sleved, printed button down with a 3/4 sleeve cardigan just to the cuffs would show. I left the cuffs unbuttoned so it looked super casual and not so mom-ish (even though I am a proud mama!) Next time I'm going to pop that collar up too! Thanks for the tips, they're all great!
I love your style and attitude! It has been so enjoyable to watch your styling videos. I am interested in more videos on how to take an outfit and make it pop or how to put things together that you wouldn't think of, but showing how it creates such a great look!
And this exact same thing just happened to me. Currently watching this whole channel as I have already been working on curating a capsule wardrobe of quality over quantity. Love you, love the intro, and your voice is like easy listening.
Love your style!!! Best tips are given by you and love your androgynous style and looks. Reminds me of Stella Tennant. Glad that I came across your video today.
Great tips and love your content Loving your makeup in you last few videos...very chic. Would love a makeup tutorial from you on effortlessly chic makeup. You have it down! ❤️❤️❤️
I love your videos! So, how do you make looks pop when you live in an extremely hot climate, I'm talking over 1/2 the year is over 100 deg and I think we had over 100 days of 110+ degree weather... I'm talking about Phoenix of course... Valley of the Sun.
Good question, hard to answer quickly. I'd say it's about the little details. You can still do the effortless tucks which always pack some style. Likely I'm guessing you mainly wear 2 piece looks so I'd say have fun with it. Maybe find some cool flowy pants with a fun print like a black and white vertical stripe and then pair with an effortless white or gray t-shirt. Or could do the same with a long flowy skirt. But I'd say pick one piece to be the star and let the other piece be the supporting actress.
@@EmilyWheatley I have started really embracing dresses. I know that isn't your thing, but I feel that I can look way more polished that way than I can with a cami and skirt/shorts. I like adding scarves or bold shoes for an extra touch.
Love the collar pop! My Very Stylish Grandma use the collar pop all the time. She also had a haircut similar to yours. So for me it's elegant and stylish! 🧡 Also, can you please give us some tips for styling dresses?? Thanks!
Love that Laura!! Thank you!! I can try to do a styling video at some point. I don't actually wear dresses (unless it's an occasion and sometimes not even then). So if I can get my hands on some dresses I will :-)
Thanks for sharing your awesome tips, tricks and tool bag with us - just love it! 💕 The sock pop is a new one to me, love the idea and is definitely going into my tool bag! Love your channel xx
HI Emily, 56 and a big fan of yours. I adore your chukka boots at 7.39 . Would it be possible to share where to get them from please? Thank you for all your tips. You are great x
I just bought new pair of boots that are over the knee. Not assuming you own a pair, but i like to hear how you would dress in knee high boots for all occasions:) you have great taste and style!
I don't have a pair, mainly because they don't look right on me. But I loooooove the look. My favorite look is probably an oversized button up shirt with some leggings or tights with the knee high boots.
The drinks are soooooo good!! And I got sent another one I'll share this week by a brand called KIN, so good and more like having an alcoholic beverage so a good replacement.
Great video as usual 😊 I love the collar pop ! I would appreciate a video on blazers, how to style them, what are the best, quality and price wise. Your navy blazer is so chic, could you please tell me what brand it is? Thank you !
I think that's a great idea for a video!! Thank you! Which navy blazer? I have a linen blazer, wool blazer and velvet blazer that are all navy blue. First two are from Everlane and the velvet blazer is from Club Monaco. Hope that helps.
Whenever I try doing any kind of tuck I always just kind of look messy and dumpy. It seems it's either all or none for me. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? I will give twisting the shirt a go.
I like to cuff my sleeves and pant legs because I’m tall! I’m 5’11” and usually it’s impossible to find cute clothes that are long enough for me. If I cuff them, it looks like it’s supposed to be that way and that I’m not a giant that can’t fit into her clothes! 😂
Always look for tall brands. Works well for pants, but pay attention with the tops if you have a short torso, as many of us tall girls have, then proportions will be off. Also, avoid “ankle” length unless they are wide, as they will often get stuck on your calves when you stand up. Not because your calves are big, but because the wrong proportions. Good luck 🍀
I just have to say....I fast forward through every TH-camrs intro BUT not yours!!!!! I just love it its so catchy and interesting and never gets old;)
Awww Love that!! Thank you Jennifer!
Agreed
I did 😁 I ff:ed. Crap. Now I have to go back to see what kept you going 😄
I much prefer Autumn, Winter and Spring style over Summer, because I can add that crucial third piece, like a blazer, cardigan, vest or jacket.
I totally agree!

You are so welcome! Welcome to the channel Rose!

Could you give some styling tips for scarves?
I would love to see a video on tips for being fashionable and looking great when you don't have the perfect body i.e. extra weight around the middle.
I will add that to the list. Definitely a good topic to keep speaking about. Thank you Vida!
Same here. That would be very helpful. I usually dress better when I weigh less. But how can I be stylish even when plumper? It's so hard to feel inspired when heavier, and I tend to just wear leggings and baggy sweaters. How boring.

Ok, sounds good, I can definitely do more!
I love it and greetings from Munich.
Love the layers and the rolls 🤎
Lovely. 2022 spring is here
I'm a collar-pop fan, love wearing my blazers that way.
Oh yes, me too! Love it with blazers.
Would you say that these great tips are ageless? I am 65 and live in jeans, jackets etc and just hope l am also age appropriate!
Definitely, I always try to make all that I talk about ageless. So I'd definitely say you can do any of these at age 65. :-)
Came across your channel today and my only regret is why i haven't discovered it much earlier. Subscribed.😊
Yay!! Love that Lizeth! Welcome to my channel!

I love that collar flip!
Yes! Love it! Thanks Gina!
Pop of layers is definitely something I'll try from now on. Thanks a lot
Oh good! Thank you Ewa!
How do you keep that white collar clean? Makeup we’ll definitely get on that collar.

Fantastic Cindy! I love that you got something new out of it. Thank you for your comment!!
I love your hair! ♥
Ahh thank you!! :-)
Would love to pop the collar but there would be makeup all over it, either from neck or jawline, Any tips to avoid this?
The sock pop! ❤️ I love those socks you featured!!
Can't remember now, is it the blk/wht stripe socks? Those are from Love Sock Company :-) Thanks Elle!

New sub who is really liking your approach. I also love that you're a dead ringer for Charlize Theron in your intro! 🤩💕🌹
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it! :-)
Your look and style remind me of peak Gap and J.Crew in the best possible way.
Love it! What uf you dont what attention to your middle part?
Then I'd skip those tips and find flowy or piece that drape nicely over the middle.
Definitely need to try that drink too!! You’ve found some great ones 🙌🏼 Great tools in your tool bag as well btw!
The drinks are soooooo good!! And I got sent another one I'll share this week by a brand called KIN, so good and more like having an alcoholic beverage so a good replacement.
I am new to your channel and I love this video. I would like to know how to wear a polo shirt in a stylish way. Thank you 🥰
Great suggestion! Thank you!
I've worn my shirt collars up for years - it's almost become my trademark.
Love that! It's my favorite little trick. Thanks Susan!
Best. TH-cam Intro Song. Ever.

@@EmilyWheatley 😊
How about seasonal capsules ?
Thanks J! Yes, I will definitely keep those up. I've done 2 for Winter already but my Spring Capsule I will probably post end of February or March.
Where can we get a white button up shirt with a large collar? Thank you 😊
The one I'm wearing in this video is from Citizens of Humanity, the Kayla Shirt citizensofhumanity.com/products/kayla-shirt-optic-white :-)
@@EmilyWheatley thank you!
What about wearing a belt? it adds interest to any outfits and especially: the basic T and denim and make it chic in an instant!!!
Definitely! It so does add so much. That can be included in the accessory replaces layer.
Always on point. Any suggestions on styling with scarf's?
Thanks B! Yea I can include that in a video at some point. I personal love tie scarves that are skinny and you can tie around neck into a bow. :-)
Love collar pop but secret to keeping makeup off?
I don't really do anything for it but I know some people will spray with hairspray or scotch guard. Sorry not more helpful :-(
What brand and style are your black jeans with the effortless tuck?

Yes, I know what you mean. The twist and tuck has worked for me for a while. I like it cuz it eliminates the sloppy overhang.
❤️❤️❤️🔖good tips
:-) Thanks Kathye!

Haha love it Trisha. Great reasons for cuffing for sure. Thanks for your comment :-)
Very good point, Trisha. I'm 5'11" too and used to not cuff because there was nothing left to cuff with, but I've recently got the cuffing bug.
