I have the hips and ass of a twelve year old boy; I'm 5' tall and a size zero with a 29" inseam. I love my ultra low rise jeans with the big back pockets. They give my ass a girliER shape lol
I’m literally not bragging or anything but I have a naturally larger butt and back pockets are always made huge so my ass looks gigantic and I feel so self conscious wearing anything denim 😭 I have to resort to wearing one of those loose pants even in summer
I'm so glad for influencers such as yourself. I just turned 60 and I believe in watching my weight and looking stylish. So many women my age give up and then constantly complain about how they look. You have to make an effort to stay slim and current.
I have to say I’m not a fan of heels, but I bought a pair of heels after I watched your video. Yesterday I was thinking going to grocery store to buy something and that was the first time I wear heels(Of course I used your outfit tips). And the most amazing thing is, a guy I met at the store said “ I like your outfit. You look great”. I’m so happy and thank you for sharing those wonderful tips and hacks with us!
I’m a 35 year old mother of one who suffers from endometriosis. Half of the days of the month I deal with unforgiving bloating and nothing seems to help, finding your page has been a blessing, I literally have a note book out when I come to this page to take notes so I don’t ever have to feel so frustrated and upset with my body when I’m crafting outfits to buy online. I find it super hard to shop online for clothing because I prefer to be able to try on things, so all of your tips have been a really learning lesson for me. I hope you see this msg, you’re absolutely beautiful, articulate and radiate this positive warmth that I personally feel extremely motivated by. Thank you for what you do here on TH-cam for all us ladies, we all need to work together. Ps. What do you actually do for work?
Thank you for the tips but it may be more helpful to see the difference on someone with more weight (aka thick) so we can see how it really makes a difference. You are slim and look slim in whatever you wear.
I know what you mean. Also, the belt looked great on her but anyone with a bit of tummy should ditch belts altogether. Also, I'm not sure I agree with block colours making you look slimmer. Taller perhaps, yes, but with nothing to break up the width, one colour is going to make you look wider. But there are some good tips there anyone can follow irrespective of size.
I love how she gives presentations. Absolutely no one should be offended because of the way she careful words things. Thank you for the fabulous tips!!
Love your channel and always fantastic tips! I am also 5ft 4 in but 145. You of course look great in anything, being 115, I would love to see you style someone who has real body challenges. You must know someone who would love these tips and we could all benefit from learning what not to wear and how to correct our wardrobe accordingly to our body issues. Your hair is adorable.
@@meghannewsome5356 some of the advice, like wearing a belt with a dress, doesn’t work for everyone because of our body shape. Half of the tips don’t apply to my body type the same way.
Thanks, Erin, for your positive, helpful tips! I find myself doing these things without thinking because I am a teacher and always sensitive to the fact that my students are fashion critics! I have always been more pear shaped and struggled with
Yes, yes, yes, to flare, high waisted, Vneck, solid color, pointed toe, heels. I can part the red sea when I use that combo! ; ) When I wear flats, skinnies, and prints, my 5'7" feels frumpy and I splash every puddle. This advice is pure gold! Love my Busbee Style tips!
Posture, Posture, Posture! Shoulders back, head high, smile and own the room! People often are disbelieving if the topic of height comes up and I share that I am 5'2. I just say, "I THINK tall," and laugh...but it's true! No matter your height or what you look like, NOTHING is as attractive as self confidence. Funny thing is, when you make good posture a habit it will positively affect self confidence. Love this channel!
Erin, I know you have given us some of these tips along the way and I am so grateful for them. I am glad you made this dedicated video about how to look slimmer. I know that having these tips and using them really does make me feel immensely better when I walk out the door. So, thanks for all the great content you give us!
Well, you don't just look taller in high heels, you ARE taller. At 5'9" I never wear heels and my feet are in sooooo much better shape than my friends who have worn heels and pointed toes all their life!
I agree. I wore spike heels pointed toes for years and now my feet are in bad shape. I think that for the most part people see beyond your outer appearance and see the warmth and love in your heart.
Great tips--I never realized the long necklace was slimming; no wonder I like em so much! Hahaha, "hanging off the shelf"! That "crew neck" top is actually a "boat neck"--and, yes, it's good for emphasizing your bust.
How about when you wear a belt around the waist, pull the top or dress out a little so it just sits out over the belt a little. This will give the illusion of more shape around your waist! :)
When I watch a style video , I don't expect everything stated by the narrator to apply to me. I am 5'8" and wear petite as I am short waisted - a full 2 inches short in the torso. Because I am short waisted, I cannot wear a cinched waist. So I know if a suggestion is not for my body type I don't use the suggestion. Like most style videos, she is speaking to a general audience of varrying body types.
I’m a 5’11” woman. I have always worn heels whenever I wanted. Yes it made me tower over both men and women, but oh baby! I own it! It takes confidence at any size to wear heels. So if there’s any tall gals reading this but not sure if you want to wear heels, do it!! And if there’s any short ladies wondering if you should, do it. There’s something very POWERFUL and sexy about it. 😃. (My hubby is 5’8”, so he thinks it’s super hot when I wear them. He loves having me strut my stuff while being at his side.) Thanks Busbee for the great tips!
thank you for addressing this topic in such a sensitive way (like pointing out that there’s beauty in every figure). it really makes a difference to/among these “look slimmer” videos. ❤️

Erin - I just found your channel and wow I will admit I am a short curvy 44 year-old who truly does not know what would be the best thing to wear Your tips are truly appreciated
I'm already really slim and tall. I'm 6ft and 145lbs. Sometimes I want to look more curvy, and sometimes I do want to look super slim, so these tips are very helpful!
I’m 5’4” as well....the weight I won’t go into! No one believes I’m that shirt, because I never wear flats. I practice most of your tips. Love the side by side views. Your videos are always great content! Thanks!
Thank you for the amazing tips; it’s much appreciated. I’m normally a size 8-10 & since I’m 5’9 my weight is concealed & spread more easily😘. However, I’ve recently gained weight due to some health issues. I didn’t realize how much my weight & appearance have an affect on my self-esteem. I wasn’t raised that way. I feel so unlike “me.” Thank you for your time, tips & videos. It’s very helpful. ❤️
I agree with you on every point Except for Pointed toe shoes. I already have big feet for my size, so don't want them to look longer. Also makes bunions worse !!
I know.....I wore pointy high shoes and the outcome is bunions and fallen arches. Now I have to have shoes that accommodate orthotics. Have to have square or rounded toes. I am constantly looking for decent shoes that aren't frumpy.
Thanks for this video- I am your height, and used to be your weight ☺️ when I was younger- excellent elemental tips for style which have been around for a long time-I think the styles in the last 5-10 years are so unflattering...I love V-necklines (not the crew or boat neck which has been popular for too long) they also make your neck seem longer and are more flattering for curvy gals...I’m ready for the trend back to flared jeans, so tired of jeggings etc., and I was surprised that you did not mention horizontal stripes! They have been in fashion sooo much the last few years, and make everyone look bigger!! Enjoyed your video and basic information for anyone who hasn’t learned these fashion tips, Busbee! ☺️💕
Thank you, Diana. V-neck tops are very flattering on many people. If you love them, you should continue to wear them. I think you will see many different denim silhouettes make a comeback in the next year. xo
This was one of the best videos I have seen on looking slimmer and I have seen a LOT of videos... The tips were very simple, you can actually see the visual difference, and the clothing could be found in anyone's closet. You have definitely inspired me!
I really love a relaxed/straight fit to look slimmer and taller. I’ve been wearing high rise skinny jeans for years, but I’ve realized I like the way I look so much more in something that isn’t accentuating my tiny ankles versus my thighs 😂
Im 5ft 6"...i try to keep my weight down but when im going out under jeans, dress pants, dresses i wear a seamless waistline girdle underwear..and push bras... Gotta make you feel like wow. Even its a jeans and a simple tee..
Girl, being tall is a blessing and a curse. When I'm in my good shape I'm a showstopper and can easily look fabulous. It's a heady feeling to know that everyone in the room is looking at you. HOWEVER, If I gain even like 5 or 6 pounds, I feel like this huge ogre stomping over everyone. I just feel so large and clumsy looking compared to overweight women who are shorter where they just look kind of vivacious or cute to me.
@@tasharice2781 I can really relate to this. I'm 5ft 9 and many of my friends say they want to be tall, but whatever their size, they are referred to as little or tiny, whereas I was told once that I was 'big boned' and I said no I'm actually overweight. I think we have to just be a showstopper, whatever lbs we put on. One advantage we have is that we can spread any lbs over a longer area and so look more in proportion. Yay!
LOVE These!!! Thank you for offering options for all sizes. I am 5’5 and about 127-130 on any given day TODAY. Not when I started watching your videos BUT even when I was a lil bit bigger I def found some great tips and still do today! Thank you for all of your content.
Thanks for all the great tips. As we get older, things tend to go south and shape wear is such a great idea. I am petite like you and never thought I needed it, but I think it's time to give it a try for those special events where I want to really shine. Great video!
my fave is a true, boot cut with the slightest flare pair of jeans. Flare gives an illusion of more calf shape and "straighter" legs. I am similar size as Erin. An issue for me is thicker middle, slightly bow legged, small calves, thin longer legs. Good tips.
High Rise jeans are amazing, I have big thighs and a small waist, and it gives me even more of an hour glass shape, lifts my butt and makes me look slimmer! Don't know why I didn't wear them sooner!
Great tips. A couple more - if you sew your own clothes, you can insert power mesh as a lining in a dress or skirt, which is "built in" Spanx, so to speak. So put on the skirt, you're putting on your Spanx at the same time. Another tip for large busted or older women who don't want really deep V-necks: You can attach a skin colored "modesty panel" to your blouse or top (or sew one in) between the V, which still gives the illusion of a [deeper] V neck but adds some modesty if you want less skin showing. I sew for friends who don't want deep V necks but still want to wear the Diane Von Furstenburg wrap dress :), so I make them a modesty panel (and it can be lace, which looks pretty) that matches their skin tone, sew a snap on each side and put snap closures on the inside of the V of the garment so they can stick that in there when they wear the dress.
Loved this video! Such a great reminder of slimming tips. Cinching....Beautiful on other people but I really don't have a waist. Any suggestions with that?
We are so glad you loved this one, Gail! Look for ways to define your waist. We show a lot of tricks in this video (Rectangle Body Shape Tips): th-cam.com/video/M1yUIqODxRk/w-d-xo.html ~Team Busbee
Has anyone else thought or told you that you look a lot like Michelle Pfeiffer back in her young days like time of Scarface. Honestly to me you look so much like her. That's a compliment
I love flare jeans. My mom had these but she doesnt wear them often, so she gave me the jeans. I was so happy cuz ive been begging her to buy these, and now i have it!
Great info, Erin! So sorry you have to give so many disclaimers!! Seems to me that if someone is viewing style videos, they'd be interested in self improvement. I really appreciate your fabulous advice! 🌼
Thank you so much for the tip about the partial tuck. I have a lot of longer tops that arent necessarily voluminous enough to belt. Plus then ypu have to find or buy a belt the right color, width and style. They usually dont have a zipper so i cant do any alterations to them or i wont be able to pull it over my head. My worst figure issue is my tummy so i cant do the half tuck. But a small tuck to the side works great. I wore a black skirt and a silky satin.stripe top to church this morning and so i tried the little side tuck and it looked dramatically better than hanging straight down. No alterations, no extra accessory purchases, adjustable at will. I still had enough slack for the back to lay smooth. I will definitely use this tip again.
I'm SO glad you found this tip helpful. The half tuck is a great option because it offers some forgiveness around the tummy, but still gives you waist definition. xo
Great video! I'm so excited about wider leg jeans coming back. I think they're so cute with platforms hiding beneath-- make me so tall but still comfy. Xoxo
Is anyone else a fan of NYDJ? They really fit well, with special consideration to flattering all body types. I’m also petite so appreciate your advice. Never a fan of pointed heels but willing to give them a try.
Good morning Erin. Always enjoy your videos. I am tall, curvy, with shoulders that are not wide. If I add small shoulder pads and wear a belt, I would say I look 10 pounds lighter. It balances my figure. Blessings, and much joy..MaryEllen
I love your side by side pics that clearly illustrate the points you make. I am your height but have TWENTY pounds on you. My favorite tips are the high rise and v-neck. These have become my staples, ESPECIALLY after seeing those side by sides!!!
Happy Sunday Erin! Thank you for this. I have been on a weight loss journey for a year now. Over this last year my body has been changing and these tricks are great for what I am working toward. Btw I would love to see an office wardrobe basics. Do you have anything like that? Have a fantastic day❤️
Nicia Crosson Congratulations Nicia!!!! You must be very excited about how your body is changing!! Would love to hear more! Hope you share your wonderful journey through video or pics and an article as it can be inspirational to others. I was overweight in early college years until I learned how to eat better and not eat when not physically hungry / also fell in love with dance and working out / brought me so much more ability to face life instead of numbing emotions with food Tips and tricks help but they don’t supplant the lovely lines produced by losing fat and the lean angles from toned muscle. The body can be so beautiful when not saddled with pounds and pounds of extra fat. The physiological effects of having too much fat, especially in the belly area, is that it poisons the liver sinceits near the portal vein. It also stresses the other internal organs. Plus, visceral fat is metabolically active, which interferes with the heart Rythm - it’s not the same type of fat as adipose tissue elsewhere in the body , so there are many valid health concerns with too much belly fat. Some cultures may think it looks beautiful , but it’s still dangerous to ones health. Everyone has their own idea of what beauty is, but for me, I love lean and toned/ it looks the best in clothes, plus you feel amazing in your body in whatever you’re wearing and are more likely to be confident and more active when playing on the beach or at the pool.
Just discovered this channel and i really enjoy your videos. you really show your true nature which seems friendly and warm and enjoy spending time with you watching the videos. feel like yo have our best interests at heart and want to share your knowledge. thanks
Hi Erin. Your hair is looking so chic and stylish in this video. It makes such a difference to cinch the waist in. I used to avoid this as I thought it would accentuate my tummy, but the opposite is true. Thanks for these tips xo
We call it the "Muffin" here in New Zealand...that's where your hips hang over the waistband of your jeans creating a Muffin overhang. So thankful for high waisted!
I would suggest darker clothes for everyone wanting to look slimer. I think that works for almost every body type. Just try to find some photos in darker clothes and some in lighter shades and if that works for you, no need to change anything wear what you are comfortable in round necks, loose clothes anything - in dark colours
I have a question; What if you have a belly button ring. any suggestions on how to prevent your high rise jeans from rubbing up against it possibly ripping it out?
That's a good question. I'd go with a super high rise (above the belly button) or more of a mid rise (just under). You could also put a piece of medical tape over it so it didn't rub. xo

I think that jean companies need to really work on the cut and shape of the pockets they put on jeans. They can really make or break your “butt look”.
So true!!!
Agree with pocket placement, they tend to put them to low so they’re on your leg!

It's just a belt ..but game changer! Thx!!
I have non existent waist, when wearing belt it only emphasises that there really is none.
You can create illusion of a waist by wearing slim pants/jeans/skirts and a peplum top. The flare/ruffle at the hip area.
Check out Aly Art's videos on Kibbe body types. Some body types really don't benefit from waist definition. You might be a natural body type.
Me too

The only people who truly look fantastic in skinny jeans are the ones with long & skinny legs. The rest of us look better in boot, boyfriend or flare🌸
Yes!!! I so agree
I don't think that's always true. I carry all my weight on my bottom half and I love skinny jeans. Gotta wear the right top with it, that's all.
Many look ridiculous in skinny
Jeans, I wonder if people have mirrors in their houses...
I disagree, they look like sticks! And no curve. I am 5'4" and I look alot better in skinny jeans with wedge heel. I weigh 190#..
Love the slimming fit and flare jeans... the wider waist band really makes a difference

Thank you, Diana. V-neck tops are very flattering on many people. If you love them, you should continue to wear them. I think you will see many different denim silhouettes make a comeback in the next year. xo
I'm on the couch in my dressing gown and slippers smashing a whole loaf of garlic bread watching this
Cheesy bread here!!! Lol
french bread with spaghetti sauce and sharp cheddar cheese on top lol
Jerrica Benton you are making me hungry
Yuck.
😂😂😂😂
This was one of the best videos I have seen on looking slimmer and I have seen a LOT of videos... The tips were very simple, you can actually see the visual difference, and the clothing could be found in anyone's closet. You have definitely inspired me!
I’m SO glad you found this helpful, Jacqueline! xo
I absolutely LOVE the Soma Vanishing Back Bras! I own them in almost every color.
I appreciate the introduction. We need to reduce the pressure for women to be thin, but it is nice to have tools to boost your confidence.
This would be more convincing if it used a model who actually was a little bit overweight, rather than someone very slim.
It is perfectly convincing with her 115lb frame because much of the fashion ideas she shared are common knowledge.
Yes, she's like an English size 10 !!!
Watch a different video there’s plenty
I really love a relaxed/straight fit to look slimmer and taller. I’ve been wearing high rise skinny jeans for years, but I’ve realized I like the way I look so much more in something that isn’t accentuating my tiny ankles versus my thighs 😂
I can't wear heels. Not my thing,
Love you!!!”Double Down” and “Do what ya gotta do, ya know?” Made my fat-frown turn upside down!
You are so sweet! xo
Thank you for encouraging us to feel comfortable regardless of our size, this is very nice and thoughtful ❤❤❤
Im 5ft 6"...i try to keep my weight down but when im going out under jeans, dress pants, dresses i wear a seamless waistline girdle underwear..and push bras... Gotta make you feel like wow. Even its a jeans and a simple tee..
Thanks for that tips on how to look taller and slim.I love it because im a small person.GOD BLESS!
5years later still great advice! Classic looks and so elegant!
Thank you! Glad you found this helpful, Jaclyn! xo
I‘m actually tall and chubby - high waist and/or flared jeans just add to my volume in a very unflattering way.
I'm very small and quite athletic and flare jeans are also terrible on me, only make my tights look bigger !
Girl, being tall is a blessing and a curse. When I'm in my good shape I'm a showstopper and can easily look fabulous. It's a heady feeling to know that everyone in the room is looking at you. HOWEVER, If I gain even like 5 or 6 pounds,
I feel like this huge ogre stomping over everyone. I just feel so large and clumsy looking compared to overweight women who are shorter where they just look kind of vivacious or cute to me.
Tasha Rice if that’s you in the profile picture, I can assure you you’re looking gorgeous regardless! You have such a lovely beautiful smile!
@@tasharice2781 Ikr 😂😂 I could totally relate to it especially the ogre part.......
So glad you found this one helpful! ~Team Busbee
Love your new haircut! And yes, you definitely don't need to look any slimmer. You look great Erin! 🙂
I love heels. Started wearing them pretty much all the time about 5 years ago. Love the pointed toe ones, with jeans.
Good tips.
Never think of it as looking slimmer. Think balanced. For me I look more balanced in low rise jeans, because high rise jeans create bulk I don’t have.
you are such a real, natural , beautiful 40s woman. You sound so calm, poised. I love the way you are talking .
Wow, thank you! That's so nice of you to say, Lynn! xo
I love how you tuck your shirts in
High Rise jeans are amazing, I have big thighs and a small waist, and it gives me even more of an hour glass shape, lifts my butt and makes me look slimmer! Don't know why I didn't wear them sooner!
They really are! xo
Awesome tips and I thought the bonus tips were especially good. Your hair looks gorgeous. Thanks Erin!
Such good tips! Thank you for sharing! xo
I’m short waisted, so high rise looks terrible on me.
I do all of these, except the high rise ( mid rise works for me) 😀
A very favorite Utuber network. Pleasant presentation, personable + professional. Thank you, Erin.
Thank you SO much, Linda! xo
That red polkadot skirt is amazing
C.F. Habs NYDJ jeans are the best fitting jeans ever. Wish they were a little less pricy. And you really do order a size smaller than normal!
Good morning Erin. Always enjoy your videos. I am tall, curvy, with shoulders that are not wide. If I add small shoulder pads and wear a belt, I would say I look 10 pounds lighter. It balances my figure. Blessings, and much joy..MaryEllen
So pleased there is someone the same shape as me!
I agree about shoulder pads. Love them & wish they'd come back in style!

life saver... need this for my first time seeing co-workers in person again, since the quarantine lolol
Just enjoy yourself! It's so much fun reconnecting after a year of separation! xo
You are so elegant and adorable all at the same time. Love your videos, thank you thank you for sharing you with us:)
Great advice 👩🏫 I love the dark jeans with buttons at 5:03 but not the flared leg - I used to wear them in the 1970s. I prefer a straight leg.
You’re always here when I need you☺️
Great tips Erin❣️
I love your side by side pics that clearly illustrate the points you make. I am your height but have TWENTY pounds on you. My favorite tips are the high rise and v-neck. These have become my staples, ESPECIALLY after seeing those side by sides!!!
Thank you. Here's someone who doesn't give me a headache..pleasant voice anf good tips.
Yo
she is so chill
Happy Sunday Erin! Thank you for this. I have been on a weight loss journey for a year now. Over this last year my body has been changing and these tricks are great for what I am working toward. Btw I would love to see an office wardrobe basics. Do you have anything like that? Have a fantastic day❤️
Nicia Crosson
Congratulations Nicia!!!! You must be very excited about how your body is changing!! Would love to hear more!
Hope you share your wonderful journey through video or pics and an article as it can be inspirational to others.
I was overweight in early college years until I learned how to eat better and not eat when not physically hungry / also fell in love with dance and working out / brought me so much more ability to face life instead of numbing emotions with food
Tips and tricks help but they don’t supplant the lovely lines produced by losing fat and the lean angles from toned muscle.
Just discovered this channel and i really enjoy your videos. you really show your true nature which seems friendly and warm and enjoy spending time with you watching the videos. feel like yo have our best interests at heart and want to share your knowledge. thanks
Thank you so much, Rebecca! Welcome! xo
Fit and flare jeans! A woman’s best friend! Love the ones you are showing here! And heels... for sure!
Those flare jeans you have are super cute & soooo flattering!
Thank you SO much! xo
Very helpfull,Smart and true i feel confident in my body too But, there are clothes that make you fluffy and clothes that make you skinnier🤷🏼♀️
The beginning is everything-thank you for the reminder ! Much love oxoxo
Be great to have an overweight person, and show how she can look slimmer, IMHO
Exactly!! It doesn't make any difference to me. Lol
Nitpick. I know for a fact that these tips work.
Hi Erin. Your hair is looking so chic and stylish in this video. It makes such a difference to cinch the waist in. I used to avoid this as I thought it would accentuate my tummy, but the opposite is true. Thanks for these tips xo
Gotta say your hair is beautiful - so classic and chic!
We call it the "Muffin" here in New Zealand...that's where your hips hang over the waistband of your jeans creating a Muffin overhang. So thankful for high waisted!
Thank you for these tips ⭐️ You always look so much taller than 5'4"
i am 5'2 so 5'4 is super tall 😂
I would suggest darker clothes for everyone wanting to look slimer. I think that works for almost every body type. Just try to find some photos in darker clothes and some in lighter shades and if that works for you, no need to change anything wear what you are comfortable in round necks, loose clothes anything - in dark colours
you could look lovely and slim in anything because you are
I have a question; What if you have a belly button ring. any suggestions on how to prevent your high rise jeans from rubbing up against it possibly ripping it out?
That's a good question. I'd go with a super high rise (above the belly button) or more of a mid rise (just under). You could also put a piece of medical tape over it so it didn't rub. xo
This is the first video i saw of you, and I just love your energy!
I love those flare jeans with the buttons🤩😍🩷
Oh my goodness I have been waiting for this how to make my bust look smaller thank you so much!!!!!
Love v-necks, high heels, skinny jeans, puffy skirts
Great video! These tips are on point and a great reminder on how to look slimmer! Thank you, Erin!!
Great reminders thank you I'm 5'4" and 122 and I'm 74 so all those tips are great for me
TYSM this was so helpful! By far one of the most helpful vids I've watched 💕
I'm so glad! xo
Love the short haircut. Love the tips on high waisted boot cut jeans with pointy toe boot
