    I find TH-cam is kind of lacking on quality tractor painting videos, it is getting better but slowly. That being said, I'd say your content is at the top. Well explained, camera angles are excellent and there's no skipping over/editing out parts.

    Should have used acetone as a reducer cheaper and flashes off faster which means more shine 😉

      do you have any mix ratios ??

    First off, throw that internal filter away. The only thing it is good for is restricting paint flow, second 30lbs. pressure at the beginning of the hose is around 16 to 19 at the gun, put a regulator on the gun to be precise. All this comes from 40+ years of experience, believe me I learned he hard way.

      Definitely the best experience is learning from our mistakes! Yeah Ive changed everything since this videos, shorter and bigger diameter hose, Eastwood concourse spray gun, no internal filters, etc. Everything Definitely sprays much better now! Thanks for the info though, its always useful.

    Do l use hardner with the majic primer? Also do I use the same reducer primer ratio as the paint?

    • @bourbonbeertractorsandprep9335
      @bourbonbeertractorsandprep9335  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes use hardener for a better finish and shine. As far as primer, just reduce until it sprays smoothly from your gun. Primer will use a bigger tip than the paint requires in your gun.

    I haven't watched the entire video yet but was wondering if you painted your parts one time or
    3 times and waited a day in between like the can says....

      I did the first coat, let it sit for 24 hours then did the 2nd coat. After that cured for 24hrs I lightly color sanded then applied 2 layers of speedcote clear.

    What type of Clearcoat did you use for painting your tractor? Thank you.

    One of the videos I watched later after yours mentioned that Majic paint has a tendency to fade. And the way to curb the fade issue is to wait a week after painting then cover with Majic High Gloss Lacquer. What is your thought on this?

    • @bourbonbeertractorsandprep9335
      @bourbonbeertractorsandprep9335  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 1952 Case tractor I did years ago seemed to hold up very well and didn't fade. I also heard some say it does and others it doesn't. I think it depends on your area like in Arizona versus Maine. I clear coated this one for 2 reasons, for the just in case and to give it a deep shine.
      I used Speedkote clear , it laid down very nice!

    Have you ever done a video on your paint booth set up?

    That paint gun comes with a 1.4mm nozzle. That seems very small. Would it be better with at least a 2.0 mm nozzle?

      I bought a new Eastwood concourse 2 so Im gonna redo the fenders next week using a better gun. If that doesn't spray good then yeah I was thinking the same thing to go to a larger tip.

      @@bourbonbeertractorsandprep9335 Did you end up using a bigger tip?

    • @bourbonbeertractorsandprep9335
      @bourbonbeertractorsandprep9335  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@arthursterlingiii7725 yeah I used the 1.7 for the paint and the 1.4 when I shot the clear coat. My newer videos shoes the tank being sprayed and how much better everything layed down.
