Just watched your video on painting the super C. Nice! I subscribed to your channel. Im currently restoring a Farmall Super A for the first time. Thanks for the video and all the tips. Will definitely put them to use. Ill be watching more.
Another tip is to pour your paint opposite of the directions on the can label. This way, if you spill down the side of the can, you can still see your paint instructions for mixing, etc.
I'm reading the comments and just want to confirm Primer, no sanding, one finish coat, no sanding, no clear coat? Last thing, for a tractor of this size did you fill up the pot?
l use a half gallon Harbor Freight paint pot for 44 bux!..l use enamel ,not fancy 250 dollar a gallon paint,,,FROM ORSHELNS or any farm store...he uses the same cheap farm paint l use,EXCEPT MINE IS SO THICK IN THE CAN ,MINE WILL GO TWICE AS FAR!...ALKYD is what hes talking about....l wouldnt spend that 200 bux and END UP WITH LESS MATERIAL!...what l use is SO THICK IN THE CAN you can feel how it doesnt hardly move when you shake the can..As for hardener, mine id 16 dollars for half a pint....hardens one gallon....
Thank you. I thought Sherwin Williams just made house paint. I am heading over there tomorrow. Thank you.

l use a whole can of aerosol carbuerator cleaner per job to really get my equipt. cleaned up..
That’s awesome we are restoring a 1952 Farmall Cub and a 1960s IH 424
I’ve sandblasted a many tractors and heavy equipment and your right on target
You missed a spot or two lol but hey great job
Thank you! I always miss a couple spots haha its guaranteed!

Primer no sanding. Three coats of color. No clear. We used almost 2 gallons for the entire tractor. Thanks for watching!
@@CovertsShophow long between coats? Thanks
Alright I'll do mine based on your video. Tnx
Your welcome. Good luck!!
What kind of sprayer setup are you using?
What does the xylene do for the paint? Is it better then using acetone?
When you used the rustoleum metallic silver, did you add any hardener?
I did not use any hardener in the silver
Did you clear coat over the paint or did it come out looking that glossy with the base coat?
No clear coat was used. Just single stage enamel
Curious, how do you clean up that sticky red floor?
Well we don't haha. This is our dedicated paint area, it does eventual wear off. I do believe that we are going to start putting paper down.
Do you have another link for the paint? This link isn't working. Thx
Yes I just fixed the link.
@@CovertsShop thanks!
Do you have to mix anything with the rust-oleum
I believe rust-open has a optional Hardner. I prefer to use the Hardner it dries quicker and has a higher gloss
What kind of gun do you use and what size tips for primer and topcoat?
I believe I used my devilbiss pot gun with a 1.4 tip for everything
Is that in a paint booth or just a garage???
This is my prep / paint area in the corner of my shop.
