The good people at Elgato tried multiple times over multiple phone calls to fix this issue with me, but they couldn't figure it out. You sir are a savior!
I can't thank you enough for this video, I was about five minutes from losing my mind if I couldn't fix this lol Weird thing is it just started happening seemingly out of nowhere and I couldn't understand why. As a newer streamer I'm always trying to learn more of the technical side of things and people like you are a fantastic resource! Thanks so much!
Trying to boost this in the algorithm cause I've had a similar issue where the audio is just straight up out of sync sometimes, and it's been that way for years. Restarting OBS usually helped, but this time I had no luck. For me just disabling the buffering worked (so thanks for showing that as well lol), but the separate audio source was genius! Thank you so much man
This has been the most help for resolving the Elgato Nintendo Switch audio falling out of sync. I've struggled with this for months now and all trouble shooting only reset the audio, but for streaming long hours, those milliseconds add up eventually falling noticeably out of sync. This video has fixed the issue 100% Thank you so much.
"those milliseconds add up eventually falling noticeably out of sync." I had the exact same problem!! I just implemented this and i pray to God it will work
This worked perfectly with the issue I was having I thought I was going to have to sell the capture card and give up, God bless you a million!! Thanks so much you saved me from stress and depression and frustration and sadness
You might've just saved my sanity. 2 almost 3 months of dealing with this out of NOWHERE. constantly adjusting with a delay filter throughout my stream because chat says it off AGAIN. you sir, are a LEGEND. Tried this out and the last 2 days have been audio-issue-free. Thank you!
this helped me so much..every other tutorial told me to do an audio OUTPUT capture. changing it to an input helped! no more audio delay when using my capture card and no more silent audio for people watching
I'm definitely gonna try this in the morning, been trying to record/stream for the past year and have been so frustrated with this issue, it's very good to see the the description of problem matches exactly. Update: IT WORKED, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This was singlehandedly the most annoying thing ever, finally gone.
Dude this is literally the ONLY thing that worked to fix this issue. Thank you so much for figuring this out bc I don’t think I ever would’ve considered this route of troubleshooting.
After a month of recording desync issues this seems to have fixed it fingers crossed. By far the easiest and most concise video to follow. Thank you sir!
The second part didn't work for me, my cap card wouldn't show as an audio input device. BUT, the first part completely solved my issue, I changed from Default to 1080p, 60fps and it completely fixed the problem. Thanks a lot.
Omg this is unbelievable. I could've did this with my old capture card without realizing it but I thought because it was cheap there was no way to fix it so I spent almost $200 on the Elgato. Now this is fixed after all the tutorials I've tried. Well, guess you don't really wanna skimp out on quality so maybe this was a blessing in disguise lol. Thanks so much dude!
You my man are an absolute savior!! I’ve been trying to figure out why my game audio was out of sync for months now and you just solved my issue!! Thank you!!
Thanks for the tutorial. I recently got a HD60X and the audio was delayed. The video really helped. Great channel by the way. Post more tutorials on things like this to help people. Thanks!
Recently bought the HD60 X lower than retail price and i was absolutely losing my mind that theres an audio delay for a new product!? Anyways this fix is god tier and definitely works even in 2024. So cheers
I've hidden no comments, why would this thread even still exist? It's sad how the rare occasional comments/accusations like this make me want to just shut down this dinky channel of mine as it isn't worth the stress. I'm sorry this didn't work for you. This is a hobby for me, not a career. When I run into problems, I occasionally post the fixes that worked for me. I don't even know what a "starred" comment is on TH-cam, I can only presume you guys are talking about the "heart"? Since I have a full time job and cannot reply to most comments, I heart comments as I can as a "Glad it helped" etc. Why on earth would I "heart/like" a comment saying this didn't fix their issue? Then I'd have people complaining that I either was happy that their stuff was still not working, or that I "hearted" the issue but didn't personally come back and provide free one on one support to determine whatever on the earth is going on with their own setup. Best of luck finding a solution to your issues somewhere else, and I truly mean that. Thank you for your time and giving it a shot.
@@StreamTechTV I’m sorry for jumping to conclusions I just got annoyed. I’ve been trying to fix this for a while but your solution did end up working the second time I tried it.
This finally is the fix I needed. Thanks! I just did it a bit differently, though, by adding the capture card audio in the OBS settings menu so it can be a global audio source. That way there's no need to add it to every scene, but I wouldn't have realized I could do that if I didn't find your video, so thanks again! Subbed.
Your method is what I think I ended up having to do in global Audio settings change one of the auxiliary or default devices to include my ElgatoHD60 S+ I'm using Streamlabs OBS though instead of OBS Studio so that makes me wonder if I have to do it somewhat differently
Amazing, I had this issue with an usb stick capture card, the cheap ones, and I solved by disabling the audio and letting the audio go directly through windows (always active if the PS5 was on) Basically what you did but without the audio going through OBS, that worked fine but couldn't capture that audio. Then I ordered Elgato, thinking it was the cheap capture card having this issue, and it wasn't, this is the perfect solution. Still, Elgato allows for that 2560p60 capture, I wanted mostly to avoid having to change the monitor output and use the PS5 from "my computer" seamless without having to change the monitor input. Also, Elgato 4K Capture utility doesn't have the audio problem, but it has a terrible full screen mode. Thank you!
been having problems for months now with my audio. Out of all the videos I have seen this 1 actually worked! thank you so much, much appreciated my dude! dropped a sub because it worked and you were strait forward, right to the point. peace and love (:
Couldn't've asked for a more helpful video! thank you very much! As well loved how you got right to the point and no drag it out to a 30 min vid with nonsense! much appreciated
U R AWESOME 👌 I also fixed my ELGATO HD60X / OBS out of sync problem. So far I record in 2160p/30 (no Stream) an got after 20 min delay of 3 seconds. 10 minutes later sync is good, than 20 minutes later out of sync again. Had no Idea what happens 😦 your Fix is absolutly logical, create two different objects and merge again. But IMPORTANT to know, it will increase CPU usage. My old setup was runnning with QuickSync Hardware Encoder. After your Fix i need more CPU Power for merging. In my case about 10%. Have Fun, Rob
Im glad I came across this video because I was having trouble with audio being out of sync on the elgato HD60X after a few seconds of gameplay! This helped out 110% and fixed the problem!Thank you once again!! 🤟🏼
thanks i had finally sorted it on my game capture hd a few days ago whilst i waited for my hd60 x and this video made sure i wont have stream audio issues again
I’ve been looking for a solution to this. I hope this works. Elgato clearly know this is an issue. Hopefully they make it so it works out of the box! Thank you!
I just switched to the EVGA xr Pro. I have this EXACT Issue. Going to test it out now! I had the elgado hd60 and never had this issue. Fingers crossed. GREAT video btw!
Been at this for 3 freaking days man.. Just solved the issue. Thank you so much for the video! I was wrapping my head around in circles trying to get this fixed lol! Thanks again!!!
thank you so much after months tryna figure out how to do this. saw some many videos they didn't help. yours helped so much. i was gonna sell my elgato cause i was so stressed and frustrated with this. thanks again you earned a sub
I hope this fix works for me! Was streaming last night and my game audio just completely stopped for about 6-7 seconds on the VOD. When it came back on, it was delayed by about 5-6 seconds. Worst part, this happened an hour in to a 6 hour stream so basically the entire VOD has delayed game audio now. 😬
Hi, I just wanted to say thank you so much, for helping solve the very problem I been having for over a year. this problem was so bad that I was about ready to go back to my old way of capturing via the ps4 capturing system. Again, thank u so much and hope u the best.
This video super works for me, multiple times the delay audio comes to streamlabs in the mean while i playing through the PS5, the solution its super easy thanks to you, i leave my like to this video, THANK YOU
Good video. Another solution (which is not the best/more of a quick fix), is to every time you start a game, it normally will go blank (Example: in your video at 0:05). When it does that, Click the OBS off an run it back up again when the game is playing. A little annoying but this worked for me.
This is a really helpful guide. Thank you. I do still have one question though - when you are monitoring the audio - so your capture device is playing through whatever output device you use for PC, like your headset - does this fix the audio delay you hear as well, or is it only for the recording software? Thanks.
hey man thank you so much, this was exactly what was happening to me, audio was delaying for some reason but thank you man!! keep up the good work, new sub!
Thanks for your upload, man. I will be trying this very soon! I have tried for a days to try and fix this issue, but the annoying thing was; the stream would only slowly desync over the course of 2 hours, so if I changed anything, I'd have to stream for 2 hours before realising if it had or hadn't worked. Obviously, and rather annoyingly, nothing has worked so far, so I can't wait to try this! Thanks again for sharing 😀 EDIT: It worked!!! Thanks so much!
Going to try this later. Recently started streaming and I’ve had the exact same issue lol. Stream starts fine, but after a while my game audio gets crazy out of sync.
Dude, you're a gem! My HD60 X is brand new after having issues with my old HD60 S+ for 6+ months, and having this happen was so frustrating! Thanks so much for this!
Thanks so much for this. I haven't streamed yet using this advice, but to echo what NickmacNack said, I was about to lose my mind and give up. I have an Hd60x and for the past two nights I've streamed thinking everything was in sync, only to find out it was not. All attempts to set an offset, turn off buffering... as others suggested failed. I look forward to putting that worry behind me.
I’ve had this issue with my first test stream. PS5 to PC with Elgato HD60X. On the stream, there was almost a 1 second delay with the game audio. The delay sorted itself when the signal was lost (can’t remember why). So I’m hoping this will sort the problem. Thanks.
So the fix is to create the audio capture source dedicated to the Elgato ? And that sound source wont have any delay ? I don't get the difference, but if it works, you're my savior
