These were everywhere when I was young in the 50s & 60s. They made them into everything. Garbage trucks, moving vans, tankers. I always thought the overall look of these was powerful & menacing in the rear-view mirror! I remember some very nice paint jobs with plenty of chrome also.
Yea same here but only in the 60's and early '70's. When I was really little, the front of them used to scare me. With the position of the windshield wipers, headlights and radiator, it almost looked like some kind of mutant creature that would attack you if you got too close to it! Of course, as I got older, I thought they looked cool. I STILL think that!
