    The only way I can avoid buying more fabric is by staying out of places that sell fabric. Brenda sent me. I just subscribed. I love the Potato Chip blocks(quilts). Thank you for showing me another wonderful idea and quilt.

    I'm already a fan of Brenda's potato chip block, and it's an ongoing thing with me. As I finish a project, I cut more pieces and the tub is getting pretty full - almost time to start sewing. I never thought of doing this quilt your way, but I love it and I might just give this a try.

    I just went to Brooklyn fabric to buy the mystery fq bundle, and NOW the bundle of 20 s $45.99! I hate it when companies get word-of-mouth from content creators and jack up their prices. You send tons of business their way, so they double the price. Not a good look for them.

    • @Dillwinkle
      @Dillwinkle 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Also the 100 charm squares are $9.

      Hi this is Lisa from Brooklyn Fabric Company. Her prices are from when we had them on sale. We have them on sale during our Scraptastic Sale a few times a year. What you are seeing is our normal everyday price.

    • @AmericanaQuilting
      @AmericanaQuilting  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      Hi Lisa, So sorry for any confusion I may have caused!! I am making a short video to address the fact that no one can see my drawing and will cover that I purchased the 100 charm squares on sale. Great everyday price by the way!!!

    • @Dillwinkle
      @Dillwinkle 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      @@brooklynfabriccompany4394Hi Lisa, I’m glad you commented. I made a purchase from your shop anyway, because I do believe the price is worth giving a try. In all fairness, yours was the 3rd company I went to after an influencer made a purchase at a great price, and the prices were immediately raised. I suppose supply and demand warranted a price raise. Disappointing, but I suppose from a seller point of view a good business decision. Had I known it was a sale, I would’ve been less shocked to find the drastic price change.
      I’m not blaming the influencer as she was giving a great tutorial and most likely the omission about a sale was just a simple slip of the mind.
      I’m excited to check out your fabrics, and will happy to shop with you again if your fabrics are as nice as Americana Quilting says they are. 🌸🌼

    Listening to you extolling the virtues of your fabric shop and their prices had.me in tears. I just purchased 20 fat quarters (on sale at 50% off) for $70 AUD. and I regularly pay up to $26 AUD per metre for fabric, so your ‘end of bolt’ special for less than the price of one metre really tore me up! Love your pattern.

      Oh gosh Denise, those are some high prices!!! Have you ever thought of going to the thrift stores? I have found some great 100% cotton sheets and pillow cases that I have used in many quilts. Another great source for fabric is to shop the thrift stores for 100% cotton mens button down shirts, the larger the size the better. They have some fabulous colors and patterns!!! I am always looking for deals!!!

      @@AmericanaQuilting I regularly buy men’s shirts etc. from the op. shop (and here we seem to equal or exceed you, mainly paying round $4-$5 per item, though I tend to wait till the $5 a bag or 10 items for $5 sales), but there is always that special colour you need, or the quantity in a shirt is not sufficient etc. Economic considerations do tend to bring out the creativity though! And I will continue to enjoy your videos which boost that creativity. Thank you.

So many jelly rolls I don't know what to do with. I'd use my stripology ruler to cut them all. If you are using a jelly roll then at least you could fine a fabric in the line for a border to make up the difference. Sarge is awesome.
