Love this pattern. Thanks‼️
Love it! Thank you for showing how easy it is to get together
Beautiful
I can imagine my grandmother making this quilt. And, quilting by hand. Her frame was above the bed, and lowered it by pulley ropes.
I love it! The colors are just right. Lovely quilt.
Such a pretty quilt. I think I may need this pattern.
Great quilt !!! Love the rose block and the floating heart in the sashing is absolutely stunning. Great job
It's really stunning! Thank you for the pattern and tutorial! It's now officially on my to-do list!
It’s so pretty reminds me of a rose bud fabric 💞👏🏼💞
Very nice pattern. My mother loved her roses.
Speechless as to description
Beautiful quilt block! (And your pups are in coma mode!? It must not be dinner time. LOL)
I LOVE IT! I love how the buds spin and the hearts in the sashing! FYI: one point of housekeeping, pattern info on the website says “8 blocks”, not “16 blocks”.
Thank you for letting us know ! Ill update that now!
You knocked this one out of the park Miss Micheline. Simply adorable. I purchased 2 patterns because I just know my girlfriend is going to fall in love with this one as well. 😌😌 great tutorial too. Your sashing just sets the whole quilt off. Thanks for a terrific new project to start.
Beautiful quilt.❤
Absolutely Beauriful Quilt!! And great tutorial. Thank you for sharing!! ❤
Great tutorial! I went right over and bought that fabulous pattern! The floating heart sashing and precious buds just made me have to have it!!
Beautiful quilt. Well done tutorial. Just bought your pattern.
I absolutely love this quilt
I am thoroughly enjoying your YT Channel. The wotk uou fo is stunning! Is it possible for you to stand aside from the finished quilts so the entire repaired & quilted results can be seen? I am grateful you are able to hang the very long quilts. Great patience to complete this order. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Beautiful job!!! As I had begun my hand quilting hobby, I was commissioned to hand quilt a one hundred seven year old quilt top, with repairs as needed. 3 generations had worked on it. There was shirting, lacy bits, velvet bits, and cotton bits and definitely flour sack cloth in the 1" or 2" squares. My payment was a hand sawn quilt frame, adjustable from twin to king, stained in Mahogany. It matched my 40 year old upright piano I had that was in our family. All I had to do was attach the center of the top edge to the center of the leader denim cloth. At that time, I had a Church pew, one smaller one, coincidentally the same size as the quilt frame, and I loved sitting on it, sliding over to the next area. The only difficulty I encountered was when I had to stop sliding over because one of my two cats decided it was her spot to sleep on the pew. So, I stopped quilting and completed another household chore. Fond, soulful memories. We each loved our finished products, and 35 years later, I still have the personalized quilt fram
The dog!
Such a beautiful quilt 🌹
Beware: moisture from pressing can affect the wood of the sideboard on the partner's desk. Maybe use a piece of a tablecloth with flannel on the back, to reflect/deflect the moisture.
Great, quick patterns!
Hello. As I live in Australia and our exchange rate is not terrific, the cost of fabric per metre can be $28-$30 p/m. Precuts are around the $80 mark.😢
Came here to see the info about thermal printing. Returning again and again for the doggoes.
Fantastic!!! Thank you so much!!! Stay tuned for lots of puppies in our videos!!! Domino just had a liter of 11!!!!
This is such a beautiful quilt. I enjoyed your video and how you made it all come together! Perfect place to display it!
Celia, thank you so much!!! It warms my heart that you like the way I explain things!!!!
Hi, what a beautiful block. I love traditional and antique also. That is one of my favorites and one day I hope to make this one. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Brenda, I have learned since airing this video that the block is called Ocean Waves!!! Glad I used blues!!!! Thank you for watching and commenting!!!
Beautiful Job!😊
Thank you Rene!!!!
I have one just like the one you appliquéd from my grandma. I have lots of repairs to make and will finish it just like you did. Ty so much!
Hi Jacqueline, We would love to see your project when you are finished!!! Thanks so much for watching!!! I just loved preserving the families history!!!
This quilt is gorgeous. Are you going to repair it or only store it?
Hi Barbara, I'm afraid it is beyond repair. I know it didn't look bad on camera but honestly it is just disintegrating!!! I have stored her away in a box and will just pull her out to ooh and ahh over every once in a while!!!
Very nice
Hi Gloria, thank you so much, I'm so thankful for your comment!!!
The pattern is ocean waves. Bountifully Quilt
I looked ocean waves up in Barbara Brackmans encyclopedia! What fun to learn new names for these blocks!!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with me!!!!
Beautiful!
Hi Andrea, thank you so much for watching and commenting!!! Glad you liked the quilt!!!
I’m blessed without realizing it. I haven’t been a quilter long but I can look at a quilt and instantly pick the sewing pattern out.
Hi Mike, yes you are not many of us can do that!!! I love looking at a quilt and figuring out how its made!!!
Very nice
Thank you Gloria, i'm so glad you liked my little wall hangings!!!
Thank you
You are so welcome Gloria and thank you for watching and commenting on my videos!!!
Wonder the name of tgat block? I've seen 3 other antique quilts that were made this way. Beautiful
The block, I learned from someones comment is actually called Ocean Waves. I looked it up in Barbara Brackmans Encyclopedia and it is shown many ways, even with hexagons!!! I just love it!!!! Thank you so much for commenting!!!!
Love this wall hanging and of course the Laundry Basket quilt fabric. She one of my favorite fabric designers. Thanks for sharing this project with us. 💕
Hi Lorrie, Oh I just love her fabric lines!!! I am incorporating all of the scraps from this quilt in a scrap quilt I am making now and its so much fun to revisit these beautiful fabrics!!! That video should be out by mid to late February!!! Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
Michellene, firstly, did I spell your name correctly? I love your recreation of this antique quilt. So beautiful, thanks for sharing with us! -Tamara
Hi Tamera, close on the name, thats how its spelled in German. My name is spelled Micheline which is the French version. I'm so glad you liked our rendition of the old beauty!!! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!!
Such a beautiful old quilt and your re creation block is so pretty
Thanks Lea!!!
This version of the reproduction of the beautiful find of a square-in-a-square, on point antique quilt was very nicely presented to us. It was beautifully explained and with great close up shots during the sewing, with detailed voiced thinking of color choices & placement, for us, many thanks! Really? Nailed it in place? Ummm. Couldn't you have used a clamp style hanger, or 2-3 of the wooden clamp style with a marble inbetween the 2 wooden pieces, so only 3 holes in the wall? Ouch, is what I felt as you nailed it in place.
Hi Nancy, I'm so glad you liked the quilt. I'm sure there is a better way to hang my quilts but I am not too picky. If I were making show quilts it would be another thing entirely but these are just for me to look and and enjoy and honestly I only used little tiny thumb tacks so the holes should close right back up again with a little steaming. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!!!
That turned out so pretty and you found the perfect spot for it. Makes your space look happy. That old quilt was a wonderful find. Thanks for breaking it down for us. Have a blessed week.
Hi Diana, thank you so much for your really kind words, you made my day!!!!
I used to have a partner's desk, myself .mom bought it from a railroad station that was closing in Dayton, Ohio in the late 1960's. I had to part with during a change of life situation. I do miss it, terribly. It broke my heart to donate it.
I have several very special pieces that would just kill me to part with!!! You can live vicariously through me and my use of the desk!!! Again, Thanks so much for your comments!!!!
Thank you for initially breaking down this quilt block. It was fun to see where the parts are! What a great find! I think repairing a scrappy quilt may be a little easier for finding the "new" fabrics for completion.
I had a lot of joy in using many of the 100% cotton shirts that I had thrifted in this project. I can only imagine that there are many clothing items in the antique quilt as well. Trust me the antique is well past repair or I would definitely do it. There has to be at least 100 holes and wear spots in the antique with no way to really repair many of them, even the batting has worn away!!!
It's a beautiful block. Both quilts were beautfiul. You did a great job!
Thank you so much and thank you for watching!!!
I love, love, love your line drawing of the first section of the first round next to the center square!
Thank you Jo Ann, sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words!!!!
Hi, I’m a accomplished quilter with a BIG problem with DOG HAIR! I notice that you have two large pups sleeping in the background of your video. I have a indoor/outdoor, 6 year old large German Shepherd (German SHEDDER!) (Ugh! Add the only way I have to heat my house…a wood stove) I’ve adjusted my fabric storage to having everything wrapped up in clear plastic bags on the shelf. Do you have any tips for keeping our valuable sewing tools and supplies clear of dog hair? I love my buddy so he is always with me in my very small bungalow on the Northern California coast. Living on the coast in the rain forest of California 60-90 inches of rain a year, lends to lots of humidity in my house so I’m constantly fighting mud, mold, dog hair and wood stove dust. Do you see my problem!? LOL. I vacuum daily, my daughter says to get a rumba but my 800 square foot house is just too small. I’ve put the moisture powders around my house which work really well . I have him groomed but the hair never stops! Just looking for maybe some tips that I might not have tried
I feel your pain!!! I actually have 4, three great danes and one mastiff. they don't shed nearly as much as a german shepherd though!!! To combat mud, etc we have large brick patios and porches that they walk over before coming inside. That helps knock some of the dirt off of their feet. We also have throw rugs at the doors that we can take outside and shake or even launder. As for the hair, well, don't let anything too close to the floor and use lots of clear bins!!! If you watch my workroom tour video you can see how I keep everything in clear bins. Take care and dogs are worth all the trouble!!!!
@ thank you so much! Unfortunately, I don’t have any asphalt, bricks or concrete, it’s on the list for some day. Thank you for the tips and response! I keep old blankets and towels at the door, easier for me to wash. We have 5 days of rain coming, wish me luck!
Oh my goodness, that certainly sounds like a very wet february!!! I used to live in Red Bluff when I was younger (middle and high school). Such a beautiful part of our country!!!!
Thank you for the pattern and giving life to antique quilts❤
Michele, it was a labor of love. I will show you all what I do with the other two that I found in a later video!!!
Beautiful ! I don't think I'll could make it. Just awesome. ❤🎉
Hi Janet, not going to lie, this one was on the harder side!! Watch our valentine video, coming out shortly, it looks so complicated but it is so easy and fun!!!!
