    Leave the screen shift on because it prevents burn-in. It is so subtle you will never notice it.

      Actually screen shift is the only thing that should be left on. It works while tv is off you never ever notice it.

      @@manyakgaming1346 why would you need to screen shift when the display is off?

    • @Hephaistos91
      @Hephaistos91 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@2Guys1ControllerShow the LG CX has three different options, to prevent you from burn in issues.
      Pixel Shift: When the screen is ON! It shifts the pixels slightly, only for static images
      Pixel refresh: That function refreshes the pixels, when the tv is OFF. So don’t unplug your tv, just set it in standby. That function will take about 4 hours to refresh your pixels.
      The dim function: The TV recognizes static pictures and will dim them to prevent burn in issues. You can leave it on “low”. High doesn’t mean that the image will get even darker, the algorithm works only faster (detection, dimming etc.) when you out it to high, it’s possible that the whole picture get dimmed, so set it to low just like the default options are.
      All in remember: An OLED panel is affected by the time you display static images over the time. It doesn’t matter, if you play fifa one day for 20 hours. But if you play it 2-3 years for 2 hours every day, you COULD risk burn in. The functions of the CX are pretty good, try to enjoy your TV!

    Since the update, the auto hdr mode recognizes the games that are compatible or not with this mode so no worries and in addition I find that this mode gives new shine to the old games so it's a shame to deactivate it because that gives a Next-Gen version for old games if we deactivate this mode and play an old game we do not see the Next-Gen slap while with this mode we feel a difference, and in addition no problem because since the setting updated the x box recognizes the games which are compatible with this mode, if the games are not compatible it does not activate it. in addition the ps5 does it too and automatically it brings the sdr games to hdr and it's much more beautiful!

    very cool video
    if you want PS5 120FPS in game like CoD cold war you need to change game presets on console settings to favor performance
    2- off course Auto HDR OFFFF😆
    3- OMG you turn off OLED protections no way, pixel shift I don't think it's that distracting also logo luminance adjustment by default is low, I set it to high personally!
    4- I use full RGB but maybe I will try limited no harm
    5- I use HGIG since day one 2019 never back!!
    tv settings is very similar but colors 50, sharpness 10 with PS4 PRO maybe 0 with PS5, warm2, HGIG
    I think colors 55 is also accurate because white pixel boosting.

    Okay, here we go again. The HGIG picture mode in LG OLEDs does one thing: It disables tone mapping from the display completely and cuts the input signal at the displays peak brightness. That's it. There is no magic juice and no fairy dust. As you stated correctly Dynamic Tonemapping brightens up the whole picture and what you lose with it is bright highlights and correct blacks. There is no need for the games to support it. When HGIG is enabled you will set the peak brightness in the game to the real peak brightness of your display (which is around 800nits for lg oleds) and the tonemapping is done by the game. If you really want to use DT in games then I highly suggest you set the peak brightness in games to 4000 nits - as gamemode DT expects this value.
    My biggest complaint with DT in games is that the dynamic tonemapper does not know what a UI element is, because it is only looking at the whole picture. This can be seen in AC:Valhalla as DT brightens up the UI elements too much. TL;DR: Do what you like most. HGIG is more correct to the original intention of the developers - but some may not like the way it looks :) Grüße aus Leipzig :)

    • @RobOngrui
      @RobOngrui 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@GamingTech-TH-cam Always on. Both PS5, XSX and even PS4 calibration are ment for HGIG. But (and this is a big one) - only games that implement HGIG will care for the system level HDR calibration. For every other game you will still have to calibrate (with hgig enabled) the in-game settings.

      @RobOngrui 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GamingTech-TH-cam I've now played over 20 hours with this setting and I am starting to like it. I see where they went with their HDR implementation. It's trying to be realistic instead of flashy and you will need a while to adjust. And you are correct. 800 is a good value. In some games the implementation is a bit off and you can push the slider to a 1000 without getting any clipping.

      ADDICTED SPORT PERFORMANCE the frame rate seems much smoother and can play in high fidelity mode with ray tracing on. Looks like its 60 fps mode. So basically I feel like im getting ray tracing in 60fps vs 30 whereas Game mode doesnt produce the same result. You can 100% tell fidelity mode is 30 fps in game mode. A simple pan around in a circle will demonstrate for you. Worth trying out. You may like it if you have LG CX. Just turn Trumotion to user 10/10 in cinema Home user mode.

    In PC mode, if you have ALLM such as on the Series X, you can put your tv in Standard mode instead of gaming and you will see those options you mentionned to be greyed out. The reason you need ALLM is to keep the low input lag even in standard mode. Therefore, you will be able to fix the HDR when the gamut is not Wide for some reason in PC mode. I say that but I don't change my hdmi settings, I prefer to stay in gaming and not PC.

    I never understand if the dynamic tone mapping is bettert toset to on/off or HGiG.
    I don't want to change every time settings for every game, I know some few games support HGiG but are only 2/3 games right now but the point is what is the best setting for this option.
    I set it to off but in other videos they suggest to activate HGiG, others set tone mapping to on, but in my opinion when dynamic tone mapping is enable the image is so bright and there is not fidelity in game.

      Yes, turn off 442 and turn on 10bit. 12bit does not work because the Xbox has just a 40g chip and it will just support 10bit with 4K/HDR. Not sure about the easter egg for the C9. Maybe it is just working on the C10
