- People have asked me to play Yakuza for YEARS, so I FINALLY decided to try it out by starting Yakuza 0! I can't believe that I FINALLY played Yakuza for the first time ever! Would you like to see me play more?? Let me know!
The reason why people say this opening is slow isn't because it's slow at all, it's because this game absolutely pops the fuck OFF later. Enjoy the journey! Always glad to see people get into my favorite series.
nah its for sure a bit slow this is my fav game of all time and i would say ch 4 is where the game really starts
@ebby3215 not really. Sure chapters 2 and 3 slow things down a little but chapter 1 is a LOT.
@kartikayysola thats kind of what i meant since of course the game needs a hook but after the kuze fight it is a bit slow. But once u enter a specific place with majima its non stop insanity
I just finished all 9 games (and the Judgement spin-offs), I’d have to agree that this one was the best of the series. It’s batshit, off-the-wall and kinda wholesome. There’s no other game like it.

Yakuza 0 is in many ways the peak of the series. IMO the best introduction to the series for that reason. Definitely one of the greats that will have you hooked for the others.
It's always a joy to watch people jump into the GOD-TIER game like Y0.

yknow what makes this even better? his voice when he talks as Kiryu sounds kinda like his original PS2 english voice. Am I the only one who hears it? Like if he lowered his pitch like just a little bit, he'd sound identical to Darryl Kurylo.

Chat, quit telling him to avoid intros, they arent gonna spoil him. Theres no context and hes not gonna remember what was in the intro 5 or 10 hours later.

Kiwami's intro for any who doesn't know about the original Yakuza 1 is straight up predatory.
Besides, why even encourage anti spoiler mantra?, anyone who's watching closely enough will have parts of the narrative and surprise for a character's fate kind of spoiled from basic context clues.
Something that is just much better experienced within to story, sure it may or may not inhibit the experience, but no intro is still better than _any_ intro that just reuses footage from the story.
Finishing blows are sequenced, you can press tem in a combo, for example: Brawler > Square + Triangle you do a bitch slap, square + square + triangle you do a right hook, so on and so forth, works with all styles and some have special properties, the right hook is a guard breaker if i remember correctly.
Always use finishing blows after a combo, they do a whole lotta damage.
Remember style switch too, Rush style with low heat is ASS

I’m following you on this path. You’ll feel like you grew up with Kiryu. Also try to play the Japanese voice acting once you get to 7 and 8. It just feels right after you’ve played 0-6.

Idk if anybody in your chat mentions it at any point, but 300 grand isnt as crazy when you realize its Japanese Yen. Right now 100 Yen is worth about 86 cents. Back then it was more of course, but still not a ton.
my mental shorthand is basically "300k yen is about 30 thousands dollars" not exactly correct atm due to exchange rates but not too far off.

In my opinion you should probably play kiwami 1 first? Okay here’s my reasoning yakuza 0 is more like a celebration than a starting game to see where Kiryu started before the events happened in his life.
If like a dragon is "the best rpg ever" thats horrifyingly sad. "Back in my day" the best rpgs ever didnt lock basic gameplay features behind dlc.
