Now visit Slavonia and the northern parts of the country too, like Zagorje above Zagreb, where you can experience ancient forests, beautiful green hills and a region with some of the highest amount of castles per area in the world. :P Also, Velebit and Biokovo are worth visiting too. Her grave and sarcophagus was found in Solin, a few kilometer further of split with this epitaph: "In this grave rests Helen the Glorious, wife of King Michael, mother of King Stephen. She ruled/ brought peace to the Kingdom. On the 8th day of October 976 from the incarnation of Our Lord..... she was buried here. During her life as Queen she was also mother of orphans and protectress of widows. May those who look here say: God have mercy upon her soul.[1]"
@@DanegerAndStacey Its just general knowledge of some parts of croatian history, we learned it in school and visited some museums and had some field teach at some historical sites in split and around split. But its very amusing to watch tourist come here and exploring croatia and help with something if i can. A lot of tourist are very suprised when come to croatia cause they find here a lot of things they didnt except so see, before coming here.

We were never really sure what to expect either, but can tell you that we loved it! There was a whole bunch of Aussies on board, middle aged, and they loved it as well. There were younger peeps as well and then us sort of in the middle - everyone was blown away. Highly recommend :)
Croatia blows everyone away. Everyone in Australia I meet is in love with the place. It's a great place to sail as the distance between the islands is not far so your not stuck on the boat for hours doing nothing
There's some crazy link betveen NZ and Dalmatia...At the turn of the twentieth century, Croatians were migrating from Dalmatia, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and Maori, were losing much of their land. All were looking for work. They came together on the gumfields of the far north, digging up kauri gum resin for export. Many of the Croatians settled and married - some to mail-order brides from home, others to local Maori women - and a unique community was born, Tarara communty. Migrants from Dalmatia were overwhelmingly male, and marriage to local women, especially Māori, was common.:)
Yesterday you appeared in my recommendations so here I am, likeable couple, joy to watch your videos! :) By now I guess you figured out Kraljica Jelena means Queen Jelena, what a beautiful boat! Glad you are enjoying Croatia. Although I'm from Croatia, I also have a travel bug and travel a lot globally, but I think I can say without bias that this is quite an amazing place and country. That backdrop of Biokovo mountain range, towering above Makarska, always takes my breath away, no matter how many times I've seen it! It gives Makarska amazing vibe, it is like mountain resort, but on the crystal blue sea :) From the few shots you put in the end I guess this tour is already done, and it looks like a blast! If it fits your schedule while you are still in Croatia, you should come to Zadar, it is beautiful city, and I will even give you free tour in the car to show you amazing places we have around. I'm photographer, hiker and explorer so I know every rock around and perfect scenic places, so think about it :)

Bez obzira na državne probleme, stvarno možemo bit sritni što imamo ovako lipu zemlju :D Pozz ;)

Makarska is shit hole compared to other places on the coast. I`m actually surprised they took them there cause Makarska is on mainland. They should have taken them directly to the islands. Island are the best.
Hey guys! Great video, we’re planning a sail Croatia tour soon and was just wondering what is the etiquette in regards to tipping? How much if any is an ok amount to allow for the weeks trip? Thanks
Sail Croatia was really chill about the tipping element, especially compared to a typical cruise ship. At the end of the week you get an envelope to tip what ever you think you're comfortable, it's not like a daily thing or anything like that cos the crew you're with stay the whole week with you

I saw on picture that probably you are going to visit island Mljet. Fun fact about it: Part of the island is National park and about 100 years ago at the order of the Austro-Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture Indian mongoose was brought to the island because there was plenty of snakes. After that they "cleaned" read: (have eatean) almost all the snakes. Enjoy your tour
Yep, its interesting...later moongose was also brought to the other dalmatian islands like brac, korcula etc. But the problem is that they eat everything from bugs to bird eggs etc. So its not great for ekosystem. Cheers :)

@@DanegerAndStacey ...Yup. I am an Aussie gran and backpacked the world for 3 years 2011 to 2014, then bought a place in northern Hungary. I love Europe and on one of my Schengen 90 days in and out trips...I went to Split for the 90 days out. I stayed at a hostel behind the main rivera...as caretaker as they forgot to close off the wesite bookings for the off season. Then they only charged me 5euro a night for 5 nights a week and gave me 2 free nights a week as caretaker. I managed the few bookings that came in over the 3 month period, which was fun. But on average, I had the 20 bed place to myself for 6 nights a week, for the entire 90 days! I went across to the islands which were amazing.

Yup sounds pretty similar to us - no need to blow money, always finding efficient ways and love the chance to have a bit of luxury here and there :) Based on that, we can highly recommend this trip!

Yesterday you appeared in my recommendations so here I am, likeable couple, joy to watch your videos! :) By now I guess you figured out Kraljica Jelena means Queen Jelena, what a beautiful boat! Glad you are enjoying Croatia. Although I'm from Croatia, I also have a travel bug and travel a lot globally, but I think I can say without bias that this is quite an amazing place and country. That backdrop of Biokovo mountain range, towering above Makarska, always takes my breath away, no matter how many times I've seen it! It gives Makarska amazing vibe, it is like mountain resort, but on the crystal blue sea :) From the few shots you put in the end I guess this tour is already done, and it looks like a blast! If it fits your schedule while you are still in Croatia, you should come to Zadar, it is beautiful city, and I will even give you free tour in the car to show you amazing places we have around. I'm photographer, hiker and explorer so I know every rock around and perfect scenic places, so think about it :)

Također :) Kad su se moji odlučili vratiti se u RH ja sam stvarno mislila da ovdje neće biti lipo, jesam dolazila svako lito...ali tek u ovih 11 godina kojih živin ovdje sam vidila koliko je Split ustvari lip, pa i Kaštela u kojima živin...i općenito cila Ljepa naša.
Bez obzira na državne probleme, stvarno možemo bit sritni što imamo ovako lipu zemlju :D

Niki91-HR Da, cila Hrvatska je predivna. Toliko mista za vidit,posjetit i istraziti. Al da nazalost ekonomska situacija nije najbolja i zbog toga idem vanka ali svakako cu dolaziti nazad i iako jos nisam otisla u planu mi je vec se vratit nazad:) Unatoc svemu, ljudi su i dalje sritni nekako ode.
@@cyborg_she da budem iskrena kad sam ja došla ovamo najradije sam se tila vratiti nazad. Ali samo zato jer sam bila 16 i to je bilo najgore doba. Danas ne bih odavde otišla i da mi se plati 😂
Znam da su neki prisiljeni ići, nažalost...ali neki bar iz mog iskustva previše pričaju.
Da ljudi nisu donekle sritni ja mislim da bi davno propali šta se ekonomije pa čak i politike tiče. Virujen ja da će ići nabolje. I nadan se da će se ljudi opet i vratiti da nam svima bude još bolje ;)
I da....kod nas ima dosta toga ...ni sama još nisan sve vidila. Morat ću hahahaha. A tebi sritno kad budeš vani. Nadam se da će sve bit dobro :)

Makarska is shit hole compared to other places on the coast. I`m actually surprised they took them there cause Makarska is on mainland. They should have taken them directly to the islands. Island are the best.

Hey guys! Great video, we’re planning a sail Croatia tour soon and was just wondering what is the etiquette in regards to tipping? How much if any is an ok amount to allow for the weeks trip? Thanks
Sail Croatia was really chill about the tipping element, especially compared to a typical cruise ship. At the end of the week you get an envelope to tip what ever you think you're comfortable, it's not like a daily thing or anything like that cos the crew you're with stay the whole week with you
I hope your cruise is already finished cause today summer finished. If you are on the boat now, then you know what I`m talking about.

I saw on picture that probably you are going to visit island Mljet. Fun fact about it: Part of the island is National park and about 100 years ago at the order of the Austro-Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture Indian mongoose was brought to the island because there was plenty of snakes. After that they "cleaned" read: (have eatean) almost all the snakes. Enjoy your tour

Yep, its interesting...later moongose was also brought to the other dalmatian islands like brac, korcula etc. But the problem is that they eat everything from bugs to bird eggs etc. So its not great for ekosystem. Cheers :)

@@DanegerAndStacey ...Yup. I am an Aussie gran and backpacked the world for 3 years 2011 to 2014, then bought a place in northern Hungary. I love Europe and on one of my Schengen 90 days in and out trips...I went to Split for the 90 days out. I stayed at a hostel behind the main rivera...as caretaker as they forgot to close off the wesite bookings for the off season. Then they only charged me 5euro a night for 5 nights a week and gave me 2 free nights a week as caretaker. I managed the few bookings that came in over the 3 month period, which was fun. But on average, I had the 20 bed place to myself for 6 nights a week, for the entire 90 days! I went across to the islands which were amazing.

Hello everyone, love your content. You guys travel the same way my wife and I do . We are to old to be young and to young to be old so we travel what I like to call, Budget 1st class. Not back packing it but not riding Limos either. Enjoy some of the best at deal rates. Best way to travel. If anyone likes check out our Amsterdam videos,lots of tips.
Yup sounds pretty similar to us - no need to blow money, always finding efficient ways and love the chance to have a bit of luxury here and there :) Based on that, we can highly recommend this trip!

This is a bit deceptive, I’ve checked out the Explorer cruises and this is an Elegance cruise which is a lot more expensive than Explorer.
No deception here, Jo. The following season Sail Croatia changed the yacht schedules and moved this one into the Elegance rotation.
I wasn’t implying you were being deceptive, just that the standard of explorer boats isn’t like that shown in your vlogs. But that’s not down to you. I really enjoyed your vlogs about cruising in Croatia, so much so that we have booked to go this summer.

Now visit Slavonia and the northern parts of the country too, like Zagorje above Zagreb, where you can experience peaceful and very clean ancient forests, beautiful green hills and a region with some of the highest amount of castles per area in the world. :P Also, Velebit, Dinara and Biokovo are worth visiting too if you're into mountains.
