    I was fortunate enough to get to visit Croatia back in 1999 before it got "discovered" -- one of my favorite places on the planet. Suprised it's still that affordable considering how popular it has become. I'm going to add it to my list of one of the places I'll visit again!

    Im a digital nomad myself and love the cost of living videos because for example i thought croatia was overpriced based on word of mouth but you guys make zagreb sound very affordable. The other thing i wanna mention to all commenters, is whenever you rent an Airbnb for a month itll naturally cost more than what that apartment would cost for a local who rents it for 1yr long lease with a deposit. That's why they paid $800. Because the renter is giving u the apartment for only one month they have to charge a higher nightly rate simple because after this month they might not rent it to someone for a week or whatever, hence why airbnb comes out more expensive than renting off airbnb and signing a year long lease. Hope that clarifies things to others :) . Cheers

    • @30AndAWakeUp
      @30AndAWakeUp 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Glad you pointed that out to everyone -- when you bounce around from place to place every month so -- $800 a month with all utilities included is a pretty good deal.

    • @DanegerAndStacey
      @DanegerAndStacey  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks for this comment! Yup, you took the words out of our mouths. It's a 1 month booking, no deposit, booked 6 weeks out, no utility costs and in the centre of town.

    Hi, i really like what you are doing with your videos and also would like to warn you as a Croatian that Dubrovnik is an insanely pricy city to be staying or eating in. Also if you have the time, the Istria region of Croatia is worth seeing with the roman arena in Pula and really impressive architecture in Poreč and Rovinj.

    • @DanegerAndStacey
      @DanegerAndStacey  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yup - very good feedback. We've just worked our way down the coast on our cruise and the prices keep getting higher

    • @none4tube
      @none4tube 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to discover inner Istria with romantic miniature towns/villages, on tops of hills, often above clouds in autumn. They resemble old inner Italy (Molise, Abruzzo...) Places like Motovun, Hum, Roč, Oprtalj, Brtonigla, Momjan, Livade, Višnjan... Especially the gastronomic delights. Truffles, olives, figs, cheese... It's a must. Also the frescos of Beram from the 15th century.

    I am a week short of a year on the road. Your videos give information, which is closer to what I need than most. I pick cheap countries with temperatures between 10C and 30C for the time I will be there. I stay about 90 days in each country. After, that I look for places that are very walkable. Videos like yours are great to give me a good idea of what living in a city will be like. You have a good voice for videos. I just found your channel. I told you about Tomato, I don't work with them or for them, I just use their services as a mobile network provider.They are not costly it's 70 kuna or around 10$ for 7 Gigabytes of data. I understand that you like T-mobile, but most Croatians tend to avoid them becuase they weren't trasparent to customers in Croatia and we had a lot of problems with the company. If you were staying for a long period of time in Croatia, like 2 years or more, I would tell you to get another provider and never choose any company in Croatia that makes you sign a contract with them for a number of months. I hope you have a nice time on your trip and enjoy your stay here in Croatia.

    Few questions:
    a) $809 seems pretty pricey for a 1-month apartment (although having the utilities included ain't too bad of a deal)- were you in a very central area? The apartment does look really nice though :)
    b) Love your thumbnails :D

      Locals are saying it's expensive, but thats easy for them to say. For us/a tourist it's a 1 month booking only, no deposit paid, booked 6 weeks out, no utility costs on top and in the centre of town with seconds to the walking street. Compared to other spots in Europe it was a good deal.

    daneger how do you stay so buff whiling you are traveling are you constantly buy day passes to gyms and ordering eggs at restaurants what are you doing

    • @DanegerAndStacey
      @DanegerAndStacey  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahh this is the smallest I've been in years. During month stays like this we generally eat healthy, high protein, eggs, chicken, turkey, protein powder and trrrrry to go to the gym. Its like a reset month to get slightly back into shape.

    You cannot complain about $70 Aus for 2 per day. We enjoy the sights and sounds. Prefer the non touristy stuff.
