I am an Avata 2 owner since it came out. It is my first and only DJI drone. I fly analog quads besides this lol. Something that was always driving me nuts when watching other's goggles recordings was seeing 60mpbs link connection. I never got more than 30 mbps. I never realized that the broadcast setting on the goggles was impacting this. My wife likes to watch my flying through my phone real time. I turned off broadcast and immediately see 60 mbps. Range seems to be significantly better now Just thought I'd share in case anyone else was having the same frustration as I was.
@@billwillson5361 I actually always use a cord. It still works even after I turn broadcast mode off so it's all good now. Just ordered a frame and a parts including a dji o3 vtx to do my very first build. Shall be very interesting lol
Fantastic Video. Loving my Avata 2. Took mine out today recording on a construction site. It was crazy busy, but the agility of the the avata just makes it easy.
Great Video! But I don't understand why everyone underate DJI AVATA 2 when it comes to diving or mountain surfing. It's a very capable drone and can easily dive or serf mountains. I have been caputring some amazing footage with it. The only limitation I felt is the 500 M altitude limit.
That's a serious limitation unfortunately. But yeah in terms of diving capabilities - it's very much possible to use it for diving! Just not very extreme/fast one :)
Best longterm review for the AVATA 2 on TH-cam! Great job! I’m not into freestyle either. I love your flying style! I love my Avata 2 and you have recharged my love for this drone. Again…A1 video review!
Most underrated thing about the avata2 that no one seems to mention - the fact you can grab a 1 min shot in one location. Land. Hike somewhere else. your battery hub tops the charge up to 100 again. New spot. Take off and grab another shot. It’s so much fun using this like an ordinary camera. You just wouldn’t really do that on a Lipo based 5inch.
@@fellers1983 how do I do what specifically? My wife loves to hike and we live in New England near the mountains so I hike up with it on my back and look for a clearing still trying to get used to flying in mountains though
Thanks Mike. Interesting that you posted this as I finally grabbed the Avata 2. I am super impressed with ease of getting started, and hope to be ripping full manual in a few weeks. I agree with most of your thoughts, and purchased a controller along with the Motion controller.
I'm absolutely new to drones and buying this next month. Whats your best advise on how should I learn the manual? Things that I wanna do are very basic and can be done easily with the motion sensor remote but I get what you mean by "full potential" in manual mode, so I wanna experience that aswell.
I just bought avata 2 and planning to do a job for indoor house tour. I found its so hard to fly with low light and also the normal mode with fpv rc 3 is way to fast Please make an update for avata 2 for gain and expo for normal or enable beginenr mode for smoother and slower indoor drone control
The mavic the video go straight to your phone. But avata u need to conect to a pc then transfer files and back to your phone. So that's a down fall. Also no obvious avoidance.
Based on your comments about the Avata 2 being hard to repair I will not purchase it. Also, the 500 m altitude limit is a showstopper. Furthermore the fact that I bought the Neo, and I already own the goggles Integra and motion controller number two, I will not purchase more DJI products until they make the neo compatible with my existing hardware. In my opinion DJI has made some serious mistakes in the last few months, they need to correct their trajectory. I like your videos, keep up the good work.
The Avata2 is amazing, but it has a huge problem which is the 377 gram takeoff weight. I feel that DJI missed an opportunity to make a 249 gram FPV drone that can be flown nearly anywhere without pilot license or craft registration. The leaks on NEO seem to indicate it is not really an FPV drone either. Flying the Mini4 with Goggles 3 looks underwhelming.
@@TheForge10 That works fine when in the wilderness and no Karens around. But is terrible in urban areas I need to fly and the Karens sic the LEO's on me and questions of legal flight come up - sub 250 grams? I don't think so - report then gets filed with FAA (TC, or other regulatory agencies).
September will be crazy so hope you're ready 👀
So...good chance we will get some new drone reviews soon? 🤫
@@neuromancer692will do my best :)
Not when neo comes out. If neo had 100fps avata would be obsolete for its price

It’s the only FPV drone that I will fly. Great review Mike, thanks for sharing.

By altitude, you mean altitude from the ground where you take off, right?

YES, I love ❤️ my avata 2 ❤
Gotcha - hope they do an update for the ‘auto’ features that JUST came out on the NEO. That would be a nice Xmas present for the AVATA users.
gotcha!
that made me laugh, great longterm review, thanks DS!

I wish dji would offer the avata 2 alone deal. They removed that option from their website. Now they only offer large package deals.
Gotcha 🙌🏻

Hell yeah 🤙🏼

In your goggle view, whats the compass heading arrow thing bottom center? mine doesnt have that!
It’s an EU thing. Outside of the EU DJI don’t turn it on.

Wow. Nice view. I'll go and take a look.❤
Awesome
I assume the wife, kids and friends all have a drone license
Of course they do
Don't be that guy,bro.
Good heavens, it's the drone police
Soon they will band drones like flying over those boats. What if they skinny dipping get a sun tan no cloths.
Is it possible to use this luts with InShot?
The luts work with ANY software that supports .cube files. Not sure about inShot, i'll have to check!
Hit the water & there fried
why does the footage look soft
I don't like the digital sharpening so i tune it down
doesn't have follow mode. wtfn? every dji model should have it by default.
It’s a cinewhoop. Ment to be flown fpv. As a pilot you are stationary.
That’s why.
Why would DJI waste resources by the joystick controller? No one wants that thang.
Have you tried it? I like old school full control but that damn thing is really fun!

You still have to register a light drone that's a myth.
