Can't argue with your list. They all have their own unique sounds and quirks. Bad Penny for me would be number one, but looking forward to your full review of the new one. Can tell for certain that you love them all and surely that's one vital part of their operation; if you enjoy using them then they encourage you towards giving your tone the very best.
GAS. Can you own too many pedals (silly me why am I asking this question) and then not make the most of what you have because you are waiting for the next thing?
I think over time you have shown us delay/reverb/fuzz/overdrive/an oscillator/chorus/envelope ..maybe a few others. Is there an effect that hasn't been invented yet that you would like to see? Maybe sending some kind of signal back to the pickups and overdriving or distorting them? Maybe something that mimics the organtone (Gosh! Uncle Doug is a recent find, he's a jewel)
    th-cam.com/video/ySz0uQ20Sjk/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=UncleDoug
Maybe a digital vibrato? Some kind of foot pedal whammy bar emulator?
Maybe an envelope follower thing that you can use with a microphone so you can do some real talking bass?
Maybe something that creates an LED light show as you play along that you can stick along the fret board? (Maybe thats a step too far, perhaps a strip on the amp or a separate thing in a tube or something)
Maybe...dunno...an oscillator that converts the intensity which you deliver into a frequency, this would be like riding one of those bicycles with the handlebars reversed.
Anyway you have brightened my 2021 and looking forward to what you have in store for 2022.
    Great vid, great bass faces.

Thank you Martin, I really appreciate hearing that. Took a while to whittle this one down to the picks so very happy to hear it all sounds good to you too. That Scran is a very impressive pedal, I can’t wait to shoot the full demo as it definitely deserves a deep dive.
That’s a good question actually as to me it is possible to have too many if done too fast. I spent years with just a couple of pedals and really tried to learn everything they could do. And really only after gradually building on that rig to 5 or 6 and doing the same process did I actually feel I understood it all well enough to really start picking up on the nuances of different drives, filters etc.
My own personal opinion (and it really is just my opinion) is going all in with loads of pedals right away may prove to be disappointing if time isn’t spent getting to know what they do and taking time to enjoy them all properly. Perfect scenario for me is a small board of 4 or 5 tops and just trying everything - see what they do on their own and then swap the order of them, try pairing things up. A lot of fun to be had with that kind of starting point without the option paralysis risks of too many…
But all that to say in the end… never too many! 😂
As for pedals I would love to see, I’ve actually been giving this some real thought lately… for me I would love to see more control voltage option in pedals to allow my bass rig to interface with my synths and particularly the new mini modular - that thing has changed my whole outlook when writing!
The whammy and vibrato pedals have been something I’ve been exploring lately actually so expect to see more of that soon…
And uncle Doug! Legend!! I love his work and have watched his tube amp builds loads. And the fact he sounds like a real life Ron Swanson while doing them - perfect!
And the LED idea is actually something else I’ve had on my mind believe it or not! Particularly with live shows being planned for after the new album is released.
Thank you so much for watching, commenting and for your amazing support of my channel consistently throughout this year!
      I really appreciate it!
      Thanks
      Gavin

The OC2 has a beautiful silky sound! Great suggestions for the JoJo setting and fret selection. Hearing what you've said about the difference between the OC2 and the Gojira really makes me want to try them both out!

Yeah it’s such a cool pedal! Love the OC2 for that sound. I think you would definitely enjoy trying it out although it’s definitely worth looking into what year you pick up - some are cheaper than others as less “collectible” so there are bargains to be had - and some are designed to run better at 12v as well to complicate things! Haha
But honestly the Gojira FX octave generator is definitely worth a look. Can also do some of that smooth octaver stuff with the same jo jo settings but also has the added octave up thanks to its Pearl based design.
I’m thinking a full video on each of these will be in order early 2022. They definitely both deserve a deep dive!
Thanks again for watching, commenting and for your constant support of my channels! I really appreciate it.
      Thanks

Well you did it top 5 pedals and it was awesome !!!! Thanks for giving us an overview it couldn't have been easy as we see from the shelves behind you you're der pedalmister. The new demo for the Bad Penny FX Customshop Fuzz is really exciting. Looking forward to hearing this live someday soon and the Soundlad Liverpool Scran just seems so different , the video for that will be a must watch. All in all another class video, thanks for keeping going as I'm personally actually beginning to learn the jargon and can now tell the difference between clean signals and another type. Oh, that Boss OC2 superb synth sound - wondering if would actually make a synth sound different? 🤔 Looking forward 2 '22... 🎶🎸

Thank you! Really appreciate it! Yeah was definitely not an easy choice but I stand by my picks for all of the pedals mentioned - all have served me very well!
Yeah both the bad Penny and the sound pad pedals are incredibly flexible! Looking forward to doing a full video on the soundlad as it really deserves a deep dive!
Glad the jargon is coming together, although I’m thinking a pedals 101 series may be in the works…watch this space! Haha
Yeah the OC2 would be very cool on synth, and actually the Gojira FX octave generator would also be amazing - actually almost more impressive on synths.
Thanks for watching, commenting and for your awesome support as always!
      Thanks
