Do you know what really is an outstanding quality that you both possess? One which makes your videos so watchable? Your absolute positivity. Always looking for the best from every situation encountered. Top people.
If you like Christmas markets, Lincoln's is epic. While most towns have theirs in November and December, Lincoln market is four days long in Dec, so some people think it's too busy, but it really adds to the atmosphere. York is also beautiful.
Please try and see York Minster whilst you're there! I'm not religeous, but that place is humbling in it's architecture. The "Rose Window" is utterly breathtaking.
It's pricey to get in York Minster, but if you go for Evensong after 5pm it's free, and you get amazing music. There's a very good Italian restaurant in the old girl's school, which isn't expensive. York also has the National Railway Museum, which is free and you can easily lose a day in there. The Treasurer's House at the back of the minster is interesting, and famous for its ghosts: th-cam.com/video/_AnQdvIYanQ/w-d-xo.html
Just discovered your channel, mostly because of your recent vintage rv conversion. I’m married to a North Yorkshire girl, so I’ve been to York many times…most recently last month. It’s one of my favorite cities in the world. Clifford’s Tower, while stunning and scenic, has such a tragic history where the entire Jewish population was wiped out in a single day back in 1190. I love the holiday stalls and the Shambles. It’s a great atmosphere, and it’s always a treat to see it.
went dark early cause yesterday was the UK shortest day, also known and the "Winter Solstice". Druid's and all sorts of strange people come out of the woodwork and start worshipping stones and things :)
If you get to York again visit the Kings Arms on the river, not far from Cliffords Tower, it has a wall showing how high the flood water got in the past and recently!
Like others have said you have to see York Minster for its sheer majestic scale. It is the largest gothic structure north of the Alps and Great East Window is the largest expanse of medieval stained glass in the country.
Railway museum is free and a great couple of hours. Theres a church 2 mins walk from Cliffords tower that is a fantastic café! And its cheap. Minster is a must, and i believe, no building in york can ever be taller than the minster. Shambles is cute, world's smallest street at one end, and has a fab name :) check out the roman column and statue by the minster, read the plaque on the statue, mind blowing :)
oh my days! York is so close to us, we live on the cost in Scarborough about 40 miles away, we were in York last weekend and it seems so funny seeing you guys walking the same streets we do, have lots of fun and check out cosmos world buffet restaurant as its great value and right in the city centre, enjoy your trip!
I must say I love your channel and you two as well. Your videos are great so informative and honest as well as interesting and fun to watch. If your are ever in England again and come to Manchester I would love to show you around and show you the sights of the north west of England. Including Liverpool, Blackpool, Southport and other places. I hope you have a great Christmas and a fantastic new year. All the best for 2018, I just subbed your channel. All the best Mike
Also you could go to North Wales, witch is not that far from us. You could do some outdoor adventure activities there like coasteering or gorge walking or climbing and abseiling.
York is one of my favourite places! Try to visit the Minster and The Guy Fawkes Inn, which is within touching distance! York is notoriously haunted - a ghost walk is highly recommended if youre looking for some evening entertainment :)
It went dark around 4pm because yesterday was the U.K's 'shortest day' with the least sunlight hours of the year as opposed to the longest day in I think it's June where we have daylight from about 5am until 10pm. Also, you going for breakfast at lunch time :-/
James Cockings: June Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere is the longest day Can be either the 20th June, the 21st June or the 22nd June but usually the 21st June, and generally termed Summer Solstice. Of course, in the Southern Hemisphere the June Solstice is the shortest day and generally known as the Winter Solstice. The December Solstice is the shortest day in the Northern Hemisphere and the longest day in the Southern Hemisphere, Generally termed Winter Solstice and Summer Solstice respectively. Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere usually the 21st December but sometimes the 20th December.
So shocked you didn't walk down through the shambles. Whenever I'm in York I find myself walking up and down that street. Especially late at night after a few pints 🤣
You should come to the north east; (Newcastle, Northumberland, County Durham) so you can see amazing castles, coastline and countryside. It’s a very historical place where the first Vikings invaded the UK at Lindisfarne
Went to York last summer, stayed opposite Clifford’s Tower. It’s a lovely place, so much history and really cool shops and pubs. Glad you guys enjoyed it 😊
that food looked incredible. the location you guys stayed at in super sweet. thanks so much for sharing. really loved the cinematic quality the drone footage brought.
Try Bettys Cafe Tea Rooms. The main cafe is at Helens Square and there is also a smaller cafe nearby at Stonegate. Very nice food with traditional service.
You guys should visit Norwich if you get a chance, there are so many unique little places to grab great food (including maybe the best fish and chip shop ever, Grosvenor Fish Bar), a castle, cathedrals, cool little antique shops, some of the oldest cobbled streets in England and a large historic market. I'm a student here and I've become so obsessed with the place, there are also so many awesome pubs and bars. If you ever do, I can give you tonnes of recommendations on where to hit up. :)
You guys came to my town of York. Have to say never heard the term downtown York gave me a good chuckle but loved the video. The Christmas markets in York is one of the best times of the year. However if you guys are ever in England during the summer be sure to check out the yorvik Viking centre in Coppergate where they have real Viking’s doing mock battle scenes in the Coppergate centre.
I was trying to comment on the previous video when you had a "FAIL" day, I"m sorry, but I guess that's the way it goes sometimes when traveling! Things like that have happened to me too. I wanted to say how much I've been enjoying watching you two, you're a great team, and I'm definitely living vicariously through you!! Keep doing what you do, while you are young and have no kids and ties.
When you get to Bath try The Circus Restaurant if only for morning coffee. It’s in Brock Street between The Circus and the Royal Crescent. So many parts of Bath are beautiful but this area seems far from the tourist crowd.
So good to see you enjoying York. You must also come to Lincoln. It’s on the east side of England between London and York. It’s has a medieval cathedral and Norman castle. It’s so pretty. Lots of good pubs too!!
The reason the sun seems to set early to you in York is because York's latitude is 53.9600 degrees North. Compare that with latitudes of cities in North America and you will understand why the days are shorter in the Winter months compared to the USA. And the climate in York is relatively mild in York in Winter because of the influence of the Gulf Stream on the British Isles.
Visit York minster, the shambles, archaeological research centre (ARC) and the jorvik viking centre! All are amazing.Plus I think they have a York Dungeons tour. Not sure tho
Hey guys, good video. I've always wanted to go to York, but there never seems to be time. I will make it one day. Have a good time and keep up the good work.

Do you know what really is an outstanding quality that you both possess? One which makes your videos so watchable? Your absolute positivity. Always looking for the best from every situation encountered. Top people.
I totally agree. But, they are honest about their difficulties without whinning. That's a Texan for you!
Not hard to be positive when you basically on holiday and staying in hotels for free.
To be fair, lovely couple though.
It's very strange, because it's pretty much the polar opposite of the average cynical pessimistic British person.
Nice to see you up north -welcome to old york
If you like Christmas markets, Lincoln's is epic. While most towns have theirs in November and December, Lincoln market is four days long in Dec, so some people think it's too busy, but it really adds to the atmosphere.
York is also beautiful.
Thankyou for amazing blogs...keep coming back to the UK we love you both .
You guys are so personable and your content is A+!
ur alas AA+
Please try and see York Minster whilst you're there! I'm not religeous, but that place is humbling in it's architecture. The "Rose Window" is utterly breathtaking.
Yes York Minster is a must. Stand in there look up and ask yourselves how on earth did they build this magnificent building more than 550yrs ago.
It's pricey to get in York Minster, but if you go for Evensong after 5pm it's free, and you get amazing music. There's a very good Italian restaurant in the old girl's school, which isn't expensive. You think Indigenous European people are strange?
Nothing strange about saying thanks for the world
Arrrgh! "stones and things?" You mean Stonehenge!! Old than the Pyramids and an amazing place...
Your videos are brilliant! They should be used by the English Tourist Board! A big thumbs up, and you have a new subscriber! 😀😀
fully agree. they should hire you, no kidding.
Loving following your travels. Lovely couple!
you two are so good and genuine and I love seeing you enjoy yourselves in England! keep up the travelling and enjoying life!
Always prefer the UK content. Theres no place like home ;-)

Really glad you enjoyed yourselves over here. Greetings from Cornwall.
You two do such a good job of selecting cools spots to stay...
You should visit Chester if you're interested in Roman cities in the uk. The walk around the wall is full of info, and it's so well preserved
it gets dark real early in the winter in the UK especially "up norf" but then it plus side is in summer, broad daylight at 10.30pm!!
oh my days! They should definitely come to Scarborough on boxing day n go down south bay with all the usual events.
Visiting York for Christmas must be a dream!
really enjoy your video guys
The lady says " that's a lot of sausage " , but she handled it like a pro !!!
Whenever I go to York, I always park at the Designer Outlet and go round there first, then get the bus into town.
Enjoy your videos so much, they are amazing. Thank you so much. Greetings from Yorkshire, England :)
Yay! York is my hometown! I loved watching this one x
Allison, I love you! Especially the way you twiddle your fingers when you get excited.
I must say I love your channel and you two as well. Your videos are great so informative and honest as well as interesting and fun to watch. Love york beautiful place
Railway Museum is fantastic. Also the Minster, the Shambles and you can walk around the walls.
The Christmas market makes me loooove Christmas in York
The wall around York is amazing. Its such a great place.
Seems so much fun in York
My Swedish husband and I got married in a church that is over 900 years old in Hosmo, Sweden. The church was lit entirely by candlelight!
York is one of my favourite places! Try to visit the Minster and The Guy Fawkes Inn, which is within touching distance! York is notoriously haunted - a ghost walk is highly recommended if youre looking for some evening entertainment :)
Although I live in Durham, which is beautiful too. York is something else. One of our treasures.
least they avoided leeds ,the middle east plague is there lol
It went dark around 4pm because yesterday was the U.K's 'shortest day' with the least sunlight hours of the year as opposed to the longest day in I think it's June where we have daylight from about 5am until 10pm. Also, you going for breakfast at lunch time :-/
Breakfast at lunch time suits me just fine during Christmas lol!

You guys are awesome dang it 😀😀😀😀
So shocked you didn't walk down through the shambles. Whenever I'm in York I find myself walking up and down that street. Especially late at night after a few pints 🤣
The shots in these videos 🎥 blow me away every time
If your still in york on Sunday go to the Black smith arms for a Sunday roast! You have to book but it’s amazing :)
Lauren Butler Hi, if I'm in York on a Sunday, can I take you for a good roast?
You should defo take a walk around the top of the city’s defensive walls, look into the Viking history and walk The Shambles
My home town, couldn't live anywhere else! 😘👌
You should come to the north east; (Newcastle, Northumberland, County Durham) so you can see amazing castles, coastline and countryside. It’s a very historical place where the first Vikings invaded the UK at Lindisfarne
You guys should travel to The New Forest, Hampshire. So many small villages, tea rooms, countryside and coastline.
Stunning in York, just like Allison.
When you guys go back to the States you should visit New York. I hear it's coming along quite well.
was in York in October it's great place to stay was there a week.so much to do and see.and visit Whitby and Goathland.
I love the fact Mystikal is playing in the background in the bar! lol!

beautifull city i love york
I'm addicted to your videos!
Lovely flat horizon at the beginning 😀
Try the Shambles :) It's a medieval street in York (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Shambles)
It is also the oldest street in the country that still exists. Also try and get to the Jorvik Centre
Genial Harry Grout: Watling Street is older.
York is really nice (even in the rain) good Video.
that food looked incredible. the location you guys stayed at in super sweet. thanks so much for sharing. really loved the cinematic quality the drone footage brought.

I've always wanted to go to England, now I want to go to York England thanks, new subbie!
If you ever go back to York, look up the Snickleways walk.
Stood outside in the rain eating. A very British thing to do indeed.
I enjoy your video's from england more than all the other places
The drone shots at the start reminded me of Simcity with the beautiful houses and farms
When you live about 45 minutes away but still watch 😂
York is great for pubs - especially for cider - try the Maltings near the train station, lots of beers there too
Another amazing video. Thank you and merry christmas. xx
The intro was so pretty!
Peppermint Liquior and Hot Chocolate is called a “SKILIFT” in the Pacific Northwest (USA)
Great video guys, I recommend if you have time to do a guided walk at night as you learn so much and it’s great fun.
England is cool. We totally freaked when we walked over a Roman bridge lol
If you're ever back in the UK you should head to the north west, Clitheroe is just like York only a lot smaller
Great video! You are travel and VLOG goals.

8:00-8:02 How incredibly rare! At least here in Missouri, where I come from. The earliest it gets dark is around 5:30 or so in the winter months.
Sweden in January is dark at 3 pm. I had a hard time taking good pics.
wow York looks amazing! happy holiday guys!
I so love the place you are living in! You are two great guys!! Loving this! XX
I live in York glad you enjoyed the old place, great editing, your videos make me hungry !
Loved this vlog and great too see you guys having a good time in York. Can`t wait for more :D

I am so sad that she had that shield upside down. lol
Mint hot chocolate rules! And its great for sore throats and cold-and-flu like symptoms. Gingerbread hot chocolate is a good festive alternative
You should come to Scarborough and pop up to Whitby too. (y)
Definatly!
Whitby's good but Scarborough's a shithole 😂
You guys have got serious guts filming in front of all those people you filmed in front of. Respect to you 👊
Next try the Lincoln Christmas market.
Would recommend York for a visit for anyone coming to the UK who don't just want to do standard London sight seeing
Folks---The weather ? it's December, we get rain rather than snow, although ,York is gonna get some, if there is any snow around in the country.
How many times do I say that I luv u kids w/ ur great videos!
Best vlog you've done. Happy Xmas Eric and Alison.
Enjoy you pair!, merry Christmas from Ireland

Excellent camera work and editing...well done....
Hey guys, good video. I've always wanted to go to York, but there never seems to be time. I will make it one day. Have a good time and keep up the good work.
