Hi again 😊 I’m not expert in baking but yes letting the over knead dough to rest and rise again can get the dough to relax a little. And to avoid this to happen, I always recommend to use the gluten stretch test or the windowpane stretch test, where you take a piece of the dough and gently stretch it. If the dough tears then the gluten is not develop enough and it needs more kneading. 👍🏼 When using my stand mixer, I usually knead my dough for 8 to 10 minutes then I do the gluten test. When kneading by hand - when I can feel the dough is starting to get smooth then I take the gluten test. 👍🏼😊 I hope, I answer your question.

I tried this recipe and it came out amazing. Literally was melting in mouth. I was so lazy to make custard cream so just tossed it with cinnamon sugar. We just use biscuit or croissant dough you find in the refrigeration section of your grocer. You know, Pillsbury. Form it in balls or however you want, or roll it out, cut it twist it. I use cookie cutters too, to make shapes, then deep fry like here and sugar coat, chocolate coat, very yummy. A quicker way for a fast treat!
I know it's eight months late but placing it on parchment and frying I done so that there is minimal handling with the dough after the 2nd rise to prevent any deflating. You can fry it like this or gently flip the Paper over the oil to put the dough into it.

Hello Patti 😊 My donut doughs they are so light and airy so if I don’t use wax paper when transferring them to the oil, they will deflate and loss their round form. So, I always use food safe wax paper when frying my donuts. 😊

Hi again 😊 yes, you can flatten the dough and use a donut cutter to cut the dough to make doughnuts 😃 or you can still shape each dough into a ball and use your fingers to make a hole in the middle. You can watch my video for Sourdough Doughnuts 👍🏼 I used this method for making holes to my doughnuts 😊♥️

Hi 😊 I always use butter when making my doughnuts because it makes the dough soft and shiny and it also adds flavor. If you don’t have butter I guess you can use vegetable shortening. Then you will get a flakier doughnuts. 👍🏼
Hi there, thanks for the recipe, i have one problem though, my donuts are raw inside when i cook them at 150-160 C and if i go to higher they get burnt from outside but still raw inside and if i go low they are too oily and still raw, i tried everything, please please help me out. Thanks
Hi Mayur thanks for your comment. I heat my oil at 170C and fry y doughnuts for 2.5 to 3 minutes each side. And each doughnuts weigh around 60grams. 👍🏼
I’m here again sis! I have issues filling the doughnuts. It’s either the jam is too much or the jam is stuck under. My son said mummy is this jam or doughnut the first time, the second time he asked if it was jamless doughnuts as he didn’t taste the jam until he had almost finished it. For the taste it’s superb! Kudos sis but I have struggled with the filling. I even bought skewers And piping bags and nozzles the jam and Nutella was now too much.

If you want to make a ring, you van use a donut cutter or if you dont have one, you can use a glass and a small bottle lid to cut a hole in the middle 😊 Or you can also watch my video - my Sourdough Donuts 👍🏼 I showed there how I create a hole int the middle without using any tools 😃♥️

Hi Dhivisk 😊 Yes, you can still make doughnut without wax paper 👍🏼😊 Generously flour a baking tray (so the dough will not stick to it) and place your dough there. Then just gently and carefully transfer the dough from the baking tray to the hot pan when you’re ready to fry them 👍🏼😊
I use wax paper so my doughnut dough will keep its shape while moving from the tray to my deep-fryer 👍🏼😊

If you want to make a ring, you van use a donut cutter or if you dont have one, you can use a glass and a small bottle lid to cut a hole in the middle 😊 Or you can also watch my video - my Sourdough Donuts 👍🏼 I showed there how I create a hole int the middle without using any tools 😃♥️
