    It is so fun to see how you guys tackle the project! There even came a bit of an Oklahoma accent out of TIm at 5:39 hahaha I love banter like that!

    It's not a pretty solution for your pocket hole dilemma, but here's my suggestion, because no one will be able to see it after it is assembled. Your choice of dark stain and the fact that it is on the inside is enough to hide imperfections.
    Purchase some Grip Rite T-25 construction grade screws. 1-5/8" or 1-3/4" should be the length you need without worrying about it poking through. Just buy a one pound box. No need for anything bigger than that. You will also need a T-25 bit to drive the screws. One is usually included in the box of screws. I like to stick the "free" T-25 bit into a magnetic extension usually 4" or 6." This helps with the angle of the dangle when driving the screws. Practice on some scrap cut offs before you jump into trying this on the finished project. It will require some touch up with the stain after you are done.
    Here's how you will drive the screws. Start with the screw gun in reverse. Drill/drive perpendicular to the piece of wood you want the pocket hole (the Grip Rite T-25 screws are self tapping, so they will work great no pre drilling). Once you are confident the screw won't wonder off in the wrong direction slowly start laying down the screw gun at the 30 degree angle (the whole time you will be doing this with the gun in reverse). You are essentially creating your own version of a pocket hole through drilling the wood in reverse. Switch your screw gun to forward and the magic of the self tapping Grip Rite T-25 screw will drive itself right in.
    Just yesterday I drilled a pocket hole on the wrong side of the board too. Shit happens, roll with the punches. If a project goes 80% smooth, it was a good project, because you only had to figure out 20% along the way.
    When you get a minute, check out Woodshop Diaries. Shara is the pocket hole queen and makes beautiful and practical cabinetry.
    As always, keep up the good work and thank you for sharing. Built in cabinetry has a pretty steep learning curve, so I admire your level of ambition. Tell Tim I said hello.

    7:27 Again, I know I'm late to the game here, but... Walls are almost *never* 100% plumb/straight! All cabinet builders/installers plan for this and what we end up doing is scribing the cabinets to fit the walls, making it appear as if the wall *is* 100% flat. Scribing is actually quite easy to learn how to do, I'd definitely recommend checking out some tutorials on that, if you plan to do more cabinetry work in the future

      I’ll have to look into that! I don’t think I knew how much detail work went into cabinet making to be honest 🫠

    • @johncbrown26
      @johncbrown26 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ it is definitely one of the skills in woodworking that requires the most skill, patience and attention to detail, for sure! For not having any previous experience or at least a good, qualified teacher, you did great! You definitely have a knack for woodworking, to be able to do all of the things I've already seen you do. 💯 And, now that you have some experience under your belt, most other jobs should come quite a bit more easily to you, as they really just don't require the same level of skill and attention to detail. One of the best bits of advice that I've ever been given in this area is to never stop learning and never start to think that you know everything there is to know. I know people who've been woodworking for 50+ years and are still learning new skills, tips, tricks and techniques 💯... I truly hope that you continue your woodworking journey for a long time to come, and that you continue to share the journey with us!

    When you said you were gonna stain that wood I legit got a bit of PTSD from the dining chairs.
    Looking food so far, shame Tim messed up the pocket holes.

    You should record your voice overs with the mic you use when filming. It's much better quality than the mic you use for voiceovers now. Keep up the good work!

      @@RoseRenovations I need to purchase a microphone for my TH-cam Channel. Could you please recommend one? I have an iPhone 10. I will send you the link to my channel once we post videos.

      Also, my computer turns 16 years old this Thanksgiving, so I have to hire out all my editing and producing. My buddy Sam is helping me with all the TH-cam related content. Once I can upgrade my computer, I will do more of my own editing, but I will still have Sam produce my videos.

      @@michaelmeans9187 Hi Michael, I apologize for the late response. I wasn't aware that I only get comment notifications when it's an original comment and not when it's a response to another person's comment. These are the microphones that I use: amzn.to/4hfX528. I love them! They plug right into your iPhone, and you don't have to do anything else. It just automatically takes the audio from the mic pinned to you. So far, this is the only one that I use. I can't wait to see your channel! Please send a link when you post! I'll be a new subscriber :). Also, shout out to Sam for helping!

    It sounds like your voiceover audio is a little bit different than your normal audio, it may be worth trying to just record the voiceover's with your camera you use for filming in one of your film spots to keep it consistent

    • @RoseRenovations
      @RoseRenovations  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This is actually the second comment I’ve gotten about this 🤔 I’m realizing that I think it’s because I was trying not to wake Tim up when I was recording this. Cause it’s the same mic, same spot, the only difference was trying to be quieter. Now when I wake him up with my voice overs I can say it’s for the good of the viewers! 😂

    Aren't the two end cabinets built in dog crates?

    • @RoseRenovations

      They are! But design wise what we’re doing on the inside is a bit more complicated. I kind of mis spoke in the video.
