In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. I can't figure out why I keep finding myself watching your vids bro', who would ever think watching some random youtuber dumpster diving could be so entertaining. It's more you Mike than what you are doing, you make it what it is. I've tried the other DD vids but they just don't have the humor and personality that you have. Anyway, this is by far the #1 scavenging channel.

There’s something incredibly relaxing about what he is doing in his channel. I have found the Drain Addict’s channel equally as relaxing but I like this channel a little more.

I’m sitting here in Carlsbad NM watching Mike dumpster dive and waiting on my daughter who’s in the Dr. office.. I smell smoke and shut off my car thinking it’s getting hot and I just ran over a VW Bug sized tumbleweed so I’m looking around and low and behold the dumpster in front of me is smoking!!!!! There was a towel just burning 🔥! I dumped out two bottles of water and half a sprite but it’s out!!!

WOW, just WOW. I had to look up slot lacers. They cost $240.00 on up depending on the size you get. Sheesh. Great video as always Mike. Thanks for sharing.
Among other things, slot lacers are used to loom cables in server farms.
You deserve every penny you make, man.

MIKE, your area continues to impress me! This might be the best time to not sweat in Houston getting scrap, if you can wear shorts in early March. I can see why thru the summer night runs are the best at least for heat reasons. As always you didn't disappoint! Those are some great dumpsters, and it takes someone who knows how to follow them to get the goods.

Lacer strips are use to attach wire ties for wire bundles in server cabinets. Found them listed on line 6 for $240

Little tip for ya , if ends of your grabbers seem to slip off things. I wrapped elastics around then ends to give it more grip. Worked for me. Love your vids Mike always know I will get a chuckle or two .
Or you can buy a product called 'plasti dip'. It is a thick rubber goo that you normally would dip tool handles into to make them more grippy. I think it would be perfect for the grabbers!

you are the only scraper i have seen that actually goes in after the scrap. i see many look and go "im not going in for that ". i guessthere are scrapers and there are scrapers
Sometimes it's not worth the hassle, like the cabinet in this video - he spend a lot of time for a few lbs. of scrap metal-, worth less than a $. You gotta prioritize your time and energy.
The shredded metal looks like what the Easter Bunny would put in the bottom of an Easter basket for a scrapper.

I think you should build a little crane on top of your truck to lift heavier stuff from open tops :D

Perforated steel lacer strips mount vertically to rackrail brackets and provide many locations for securing cable ties. Lacer strips can easily be cut down to smaller sizes.

Mike I looked up slot lacers and you should try to sell locally. Depending on which ones you have they cost 250 to 350. Maybe make mad loot on this one. Haha keep up the great diving vids man.

I have tried dumpsters diving here in Australia I built the courage up and found the dumpsters to be locked so I stick to kerbside picking and skip bins

Mikey, I watched you struggle over identifying that aluminum chaff and I wanted to suggest that you check into a metal detecting tool called a pinpointer. You can carry it in your pocket and if you put it near a ferrous or non-ferrous metal, it will buzz. If you put it near plastic, it will stay silent.

With one cabinet being buried in the dumpster and another being set out, I always think things like that mean that different employees handled them. Some employees realize that metal will be picked up by scrappers and others don't or don't care.

Never cease to amaze me what kind of find you have in those TX dumpsters. I know hard work goes into it but you rarely have an off day. And AC crap is never crap - it is the DA BOMB!
