In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. Hey Super Scavenger, I never seen anyone get so excited over nibbits of wire like you do. It cracks me up when your digging them out and not leaving a one. Love your video's.

They all add up, a 5 gallon bucket of #1 solid copper wire is almost $100.00 bucks, a 5 gallon bucket of #2 stranded copper wire is $75.00 in my area.
A penny saved is a penny earned, therefore a snipit picked is more bright copper earned and while steel is 12 cents a pound bright copper is over 2 dollars a pound. Aluminum is only 30 cents and up a pound so 100 pounds of the 3 main scraps are $12, $200 and $30 per hundred pounds and a 5 gallon bucket of copper is hard to lift while the others are not. Boils down to weight, ease and value. Sometimes you just shred it all but copper is always kept separate. Same with rotors and drum brake drums because they are thick steel and worth triple shred price or more. I used to scrap in the 1970s and we put nuts and bolts inside car frames and closed the ends quadrupling the weight per space. That was for $30 a ton.

Great video! Those traffic light discs could be repurposed with a little light behind them. That would be cool! And the traffic camera would scare the bejesus outta anybody around your neighborhood on your house! Lol. It would make a hella good cam mounted on your truck so we could watch Even more of you on these videos! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
They're probably full of LEDs if he could just direct wire them to something.
Hipsters love traffic lights on there walls in there fancy apartments or in a bar or some such, if you can rebuild them and get them lighting up.

Your videos always make me smile with the enthusiasm you have doing this. There's always some new weird treasure to find. I've never heard a complaint about the flies or probably some horrendous stink some of those dumpsters have to have.

Mike you should always check printers as some contain mother boards and memory and a few big ones contains hard drives. I had one I sold to someone that has the da.e printer and received $30. Not bad for something that would wind up junked.
As for those lights Please let me know what you want for 2 of them or 1 box.
I have had good luck with picking up printers. Picked up a Brother printer/scanner. Can't find anything wrong with it so far. $100 pretty easy on ebay.

I watch ALL of your videos. I wanted to make a suggestion. It’s sort of hard to tell how tall that dumpster is that you have to enter from the side, but if it’s possible would it not be easier to open the top and have your truck right there and toss everything over into the back of Dottie? I was thinking the same thing from the video when you found all the battery backups and you were reaching around the side and tossing them into Dottie. Although those might have been too heavy to do that. But the items in this video seemed light.
But another great video by Mighty Mike and Dottie. May not have filled the truck but what you found made up the difference. All that wire is awesome. Stay safe and God Bless

It just amazes me the new stuff companies toss in the trash!!
Sometimes they were bought for a project and that project might been canceled. I have a rack truck with a power tail gate and a hoist to pick up loads of power cords. Sometimes I get 10 K new heavy duty power cords.
I never know what we will pick up.

So many items manufactured and packaged and transported to only end up in a dumpster. Mike is recycling while getting paid for the effort of diving then transporting it then breaking it down and finally taking it to the metals scrap yard... exhausting just typing it but Mike makes it look exciting 🎉...

Mike, those lights are missing the driver. As soon as you plug them in the led will go bad, you will be giving 120 volts to a 12-24 volt led.
Lol, yup! Just zapped one real quick. I then saw in the box the instructions showing the light plugged into a driver. Dang it!

On those traffic lights dumpster check those holder for the lights they make plastic and aluminum head for them
That camera is made for areas that might have gasses that would explode that is why it is sealed.

Hey Mike, just wanted to say that every time you jump into a dumpster, I cringe and hold my breath. I worry one day there will be something in there you don’t see, and will be impaled with it! Please be careful. We can’t have you getting hurt, so many people would miss you. Be safe! And good luck with your dives!

Mike, do you hit the same spots every time you go out or do you have different routes on different days? Anyway stay safe out there and best wishes from Minnesota in a town where dumpster diving is literally illegal. I checked.
He probably goes to different places, if he would go to same places there might not be any scrap.
Out here in California its illegal in some counties, but I'll be damned that you can run into a CVS and shoplift $999.00 worth of goods and be allowed to walk right of the store, but get arrested for dumpster diving, lol go figure🙄
Hey, im a company owner and if i rent a container im the law. And i will say, if i put the metal in that and u need to provide u family. just go for it.
Cause i pay by the weight on top of the rent. Same ruels all over the world. Its not a law. the agreement to the provider of the dumpster or the company sets the rules, .

We should scrap together cause you're after the metal but I'm eyeing those plastic parts for sci-fi projects! 20:13 yes those are LED lamps, should have a data tag for voltage requirements. They can range from 120 to 277 VAC for commercial applications. Those wings should fold down to span across ceiling joists.

What type of coax are you talking about? Because the coax I know of it as copper running through a plastic casing and that sure is good stuff
I had that thought too. I think it's just that it's hard to strip and not much copper by weight, so the scrap yards don't like it. Just not worth the effort.

They are low voltage led lighting. Normal 12v
