I remember going through a very tough time in my life with health breaking down, losing my business and family dying and reaching out desperately to others for support but no one came. She was lucky.

Good points. "Suffering is both a reminder and a guide. It stimulates us to better adapt ourselves to our environmental conditions, and thus leads the way to self-improvement. In every suffering one can find a meaning and a wisdom. But it is not always easy to find the secret of that wisdom." ~ Baha'i Faith

A difficult lesson is that "Men who suffer not, attain no perfection. The plant most pruned by the gardeners is that one which, when the summer comes, will have the most beautiful blossoms and the most abundant fruit. The labourer cuts up the earth with his plough, and from that earth comes the rich and plentiful harvest. The more a man is chastened, the greater is the harvest of spiritual virtues shown forth by him." ~ Baha'i Faith

Wow- i know it is just your own story... but it is very powerful and I bet it captured the audience. I am an occupational therapist by trade and I have dealt with autism since I found out in 2010. It's not life threatening like you experienced. But it also altered my life a lot. Now I am a 2x TEDx speaker. Keep fighting on! You are doing great. 🍻

Great. Overcoming the sorrow and pain is not an easy job. Because Katie leaned on love ( Divine power) and looked up the sky and the stars that enabled her to overcome her sickness. Good example to the entire humanity. Congrats.

My take on it is we should be grateful for our suffering. We should be grateful that we have the ABILITY to suffer. If it was a rainy horrible dark yucky day outside, would you wish to go to blind so that you wouldnt have to experience the unpleasant sight of horrible weather?? No you would value the gift of sight WAY too much, obviously.
I feel the same about life - life is beautiful and god knows I suffer every day, but Im grateful for the opportunity to suffer, what the alternative?? To end it all, cos its too hard?? Regardless of how hard your life is.........its LIFE.......and life is fuckin beautiful.

When everybody know that there are nothing unnessesary in the space. You come up with the word void, that mean you got bad self confidence yourself. And you try to find somebody that are a easy target for your lowzy mind. If we say that something are void, it mean that everything and every living are void, or got the value in him or her, that can give the reason to call him or her void. Or other way, nothing are void. Nobody can be void.

“Grieve thou not over the troubles and hardships of this nether world, nor be thou glad in times of ease and comfort, for both shall pass away. This present life is even as a swelling wave, or a mirage, or drifting shadows. Could ever a distorted image on the desert serve as refreshing waters? No, by the Lord of Lords! Never can reality and the mere semblance of reality be one, and wide is the difference between fancy and fact, between truth and the phantom thereof.
Know thou that the Kingdom is the real world, and this nether place is only its shadow stretching out. A shadow hath no life of its own; its existence is only a fantasy, and nothing more; it is but images reflected in water, and seeming as pictures to the eye.” - Abdu’l-Baha

When it comes to pain and suffering, it's intolerable to the strong men and women we have left that no one (including myself) remembers "Ukraine is turning the tide against Russia." We COULD ask these strongmen to explain, because Ted Koppel kept saying we hit the scud missiles, and NO ONE WOULD ADMIT THE TRUTH, and to them it's just the regular functioning of their mind. So I demanded better services, and someone made an argument that the sidebar using my backbrain which is less damaged could work for them. We're picking up steam but it isn't fast enough, it has to be multiplied by all the people on Internet, and those detracting have to go. So long as no one antagonizes me. In Katie Over Cancer, the writing uses her backbrain, which is larger if less active. The creativity comes from her unique experiences on the front.

I have a girlfriend that has three crushed disc's in her spine. Her neck is badly damaged and her legs hurt badly when she walks. 😢❤ Pain killers, muscle relaxers and Marijuana make it barely bearable. I've been with her 5 yrs come November and I'm very attached. I suffer when she does. She always says it's alright and I get very confused as to say anything at all.

To Islam, suffering is part of test that allow a person to get close to Him. some people can make it but some are not. It isn't fair to those are not. That is why god told us in Quran about life after dead. so you ll not feel unjust with this temporary life.

This is dissapointing from Ted Talks, bringing this meaningless monologs to fill and keep content, shes nothing but a survivor of cancer and as she did other people do and in a harder situation. We get nothing from this speech but a motivation for boost our energy. But motivation doesnt last for ever. Waste of time.
