It's harder to give tips without knowing more about your channel but I would say make sure your thumbnails, title and description (First two sentences) are great and stand out! First time caller: Reached the requirements yesterday! took 525 days from 0 - 1000, achieved the 4000 hours in slightly less than that! Very excited! I've watched many many of your videos which helped in so many ways! Thank you! UPDATE: Got approved in 72 hours!
it took almost eight months and I met both milestones at about the same time. The monetization process just took 36 hours, once TH-cam realized that I actually had the required numbers (that strangely took a few days...) (not this channel, I am not uploading on this one :) ) for the second question (because I know that would have been very helpful and informative for me) In my first month I earned about 50 $, then 80$ and then my channel grew a lot and now I earned over 500$ for the last few months. This journey is different for everybody so you can't expect anything but just try our best and be persistent! good luck to anybody trying to reach the requirements!

Tbh sometimes I think it's a glitch because when I see average time spent on video for an individual on the desktop version it says 4min 5min but then one video says 18min on a video that is only 7min long
@Master Maria honestly, you kinda gotta hope that the TH-cam algorithm suggests your videos a lot. Also add a lot of keywords to your descriptions/titles as well as download the vidIQ extension (it’s really helpful!)
Funny enough, I was actually VERY close to my first payout, before TH-cam enforced the 1000 subs/4000 hours watch time. But I never gave up and am almost at that goal😁

I'm almost at the watch hour requirement, so I'm excited to finally apply for monetization! Thanks for the guide. 5:20 was super useful information that I definitely would have been upset about had I not heard of it beforehand. It's hilarious because I spent two years getting to 600 subscribers, doing general content for a particular video game company with mixed results. Then a certain game came out, and as a fan, I hard-focused on making content once a week for that game specifically, and I bumped up past 1000 subscribers to 1.6 right now! 1000+ subscribers is pretty insane and it's been very fun to produce content on the platform.
Finally reached 1K subscribers yesterday and complete monetization requirements, now just waiting for the review process. Good luck to all youtubers trying to make it, you got this.
Whoever’s reading this... I like making videos and if you do too you will hit your goal if you work hard for it, it’s not gonna be easy so you will have to work very hard! One tip for getting monetized (I’m not yet) is you have to like making videos because it takes very long and if you don’t enjoy this, you may have more success on something else. If anyone actually read that, I hope you get monetized! Also what’s your goal by 2021?
i sat at around 80-90 subs for close to a year, then Valheim videos took off and i got 1200 subs and lots of watch hours in the last month and was accepted to the partner program within 12 hours of applying! I think the 55% to me and 45% to TH-cam is fine my issue is the fact it's still the same cut for superchat. In my opinion superchats should be 70% the creator and 30% TH-cam like the membership program. Especially for me since I make most of my money from superchats not ad revenue.

Thanks for the guide. It took us 7 months to get to the monetisation milestone. Shame you don't have the AdSense process in there. That's the one that we're keen to get info on - we're full time travellers with no fixed address or phone number, which makes that step of the process a bit more complicated. Good tip about changing the country - we're currently in Nicaragua, but our Spanish isn't quite up to the level of reading through a whole lot of terms and conditions!
I'm really hoping I'll be able to meet the requirements! I've got around 2.7k hours so far, but the problem is, I need 1.3k hours within 3 months (since I had a popular video which I released 9 months ago, and it's almost over the cut-off date)... Hopefully I can reach the hour goal before then :)
I’ve been experimenting with shorts, you can use it as data if you’d like. I noticed the video that did well did not become a true short until about 18 hours or so after upload.

I think you should do a video on copyright matching tool because this tool is subject to problems if you don't understand it. for example, gaming content that is re-used in other people's video cannot be claimed because video games are not an original content you produced
Watching this now and you most likely know why 😆. I posted my first video to my channel Jan 19th 2021 and since then I have just achieved over 6k watch time hours and just rolled over 1k subscribers last night. It was an absolute grind to get that far. Not easy at all. Some videos will do great some will flop but the mentality to keep going, keep doing better and work harder is what got me to this point and I’m not looking back! A lot of help from your channel as well as others was a huge part of it. For me it wasn’t easy creating the videos I create and doing it solo but it was a VERY satisfying achievement. Hi, thanks for sharing this advice. I believe the TH-cam Partner Program can be sometimes abusive... at least in my case. I've applied 3 times and although I meet the monetization requirements (4000 watch hours and over 1K subscribers, well actually 2K), my channel was rejected from monetization. I believe this is a bot automated rejection and my channel did not get to be reviewed by humans, otherwise I cannot explain. How do you request human review by TH-cam? If you have any recommendations, kindly let me know. Thank you!

I am 4 months in to my TH-cam channel and am about 1/3 of the way there. It is fun to watch the swing up, as the first couple months were quite slow compared to now. It is also challenging in that some of the videos I enjoyed the most did OK, but other ones were much more successful.

@@vidIQ I'm trying to post every week. I've updated the channel with some t-shirts that might help out. But I believe the hardest part is gaining exposure. I've used social media which has help out. I've done what you have said on your videos keeping to one niche and staying with it. Any advice would really help out. Your videos have really help me out learning what to do and what not to do.

Thanks for the guide. It took us 7 months to get to the monetisation milestone. Shame you don't have the AdSense process in there. That's the one that we're keen to get info on - we're full time travellers with no fixed address or phone number, which makes that step of the process a bit more complicated. Good tip about changing the country - we're currently in Nicaragua, but our Spanish isn't quite up to the level of reading through a whole lot of terms and conditions!

I'm really hoping I'll be able to meet the requirements! I've got around 2.7k hours so far, but the problem is, I need 1.3k hours within 3 months (since I had a popular video which I released 9 months ago, and it's almost over the cut-off date)... Hopefully I can reach the hour goal before then :)

I’ve been experimenting with shorts, you can use it as data if you’d like. I noticed the video that did well did not become a true short until about 18 hours or so after upload.

I think you should do a video on copyright matching tool because this tool is subject to problems if you don't understand it. for example, gaming content that is re-used in other people's video cannot be claimed because video games are not an original content you produced

Watching this now and you most likely know why 😆. I posted my first video to my channel Jan 19th 2021 and since then I have just achieved over 6k watch time hours and just rolled over 1k subscribers last night. It was an absolute grind to get that far. Not easy at all. Some videos will do great some will flop but the mentality to keep going, keep doing better and work harder is what got me to this point and I’m not looking back! A lot of help from your channel as well as others was a huge part of it. For me it wasn’t easy creating the videos I create and doing it solo but it was a VERY satisfying achievement. Thank you for all your work and help vidIQ!! 🍻

My brother just got his channel monetized today. He has over 3,000 subscribers (3,383 to be exact). And it took only 10 months for him to meet the requirements.
I just hit 1K today after posting my first video on March 8th 2021. So it took me 2 months and 7 days. I am so excited and still can not grasp what just happened!

Hi, thanks for sharing this advice. I believe the TH-cam Partner Program can be sometimes abusive... at least in my case. I've applied 3 times and although I meet the monetization requirements (4000 watch hours and over 1K subscribers, well actually 2K), my channel was rejected from monetization. I believe this is a bot automated rejection and my channel did not get to be reviewed by humans, otherwise I cannot explain. How do you request human review by TH-cam? If you have any recommendations, kindly let me know. Thank you!

I am 4 months in to my TH-cam channel and am about 1/3 of the way there. It is fun to watch the swing up, as the first couple months were quite slow compared to now. It is also challenging in that some of the videos I enjoyed the most did OK, but other ones were much more successful.

The 'Sign Up for Google AdSense' stage has already completed (same day). Now at 'Get reviewed'.
Two days later and I've been approved and have been able to turn on monetisation. A pretty smooth and quick process in my case.
