His biggest tip is essentially "Take from people who can't fight back". Tells you everything you need to know about the legitimacy of his "content".
Heck yeah! Because who gives a rat's behind about being original or creative?
That's exactly what I got from this. Its so messed up 😢
I mean it kinda depends on perspective right? If you truly believe that people should be able to create content using footage from external sources, then it's not really about taking from those who won't fight back, but rather not taking from those that will knock you out and drown you in legal waters where you can't fight back at all.
Its called creative leveraging.
@@PixelTheory That's not a legitimate perspective. You are able to use external sources as long as you license those sources. Some of those licenses cost money, some don't. When you actively steal from someone else, it's not about drowning you in "legal waters where you can't fight back," it's about asserting THEIR legal right to THEIR content, which you actively stole.
It's weird how for some people they have the audacity to take someone's content and be like "why is it taken down?"
Welcome to twenty-first century entitlement
Wait until you get a copyright claim by a huge mega corp holding company claiming your completely original generative work is a copy of a 12 year old instrumental of one of their artists they dropped the ball promoting (27 YT views, one FB like and a plucked Twitter bird in 12 years in this case). You’re not going to be a fan of videos like this one outlining tips on how to target the least likely to have a legal defence department.
Oh sweet summer child.@@wmpx34
@@actualkevin yea for this reason I don't use music. Man music is a huge trouble area. You will never know when you might get trouble. Or prefer to use oher creator's music with license.
People on the tiktok shop are REALLY bad about it. Selling merch of licensed characters and there was several people who would turn fanfiction into hard cover books and selling them even tho it's pretty common knowledge that you can't sell fanfiction
I like seeing film clips interspersed into an original piece, usually in the form of a reaction, a gasp, a sigh, a laugh. Always helps with the pacing of a piece
One of the hardest parts of starting a TH-cam channel must be the patience required. I only started 2 weeks ago and it feels like forever without gaining any subs or views.
@@AutoFactsUnveiledNot really. I just saw a channel, a year old with around 50 videos. So so quality I'd say, and double digit views in 1 year. It depends on quality and believe me or not, luck.
It could be up to months or years without any results, we should be prepared for that.
Indeed, i feel the same
my friend had a channel like yours, in month 2 or 3 he got millions of views and over 3000 subs but when he applied for YT partnership... REJECTED for not adding enough value to the copyrighted content.
If you cant do EVERYTHING this guy has said, EXTREME edits while using individual's content etc etc, then you have a problem come monetization time.
Good luck though.
Two weeks..... And you're already frustrated at having no progress..... Jesus. Ha
I think it's much easier having a faceless channel if somebody is a shy person. I am a bit like that so starting a personal channel was not an option for me. But with faceless channel everything is easier. I can focus on my content without being judged on my looks, voice, body, etc... (I can also recommend using some tools like Famester here and there, as it works best with this type of channel).
Famester is really good service, I am using it for six months with no issues so far.
"the US court system decides what is fair use" HAHAHAHAHA 🤣 Nice joke! as if ALL the violations & wrong strikes YT has done came from "us court system". This guy doesn't know what he's talking about or he's purposfeully misguiding people
@@HassanSanemthat is so stupid
Faceless channels are easier to manageand to run for everybody though the Shy forks like me are advantaged.

I frequently get a sense of being a lone traveller in the world of TH-cam, striving to
find a welcoming community. I sometimes feel as though the work I put my heart and soul into has vanished into a void of apathy. Even if the lack of motivation might be discouraging, a flame of drive still burns inside me. I'll keep making things and expressing my enthusiasm in the hopes that one day it may speak to someone.💔
I agree. I’m not going to start using AI or steal others content. I feel it is just wrong and not what TH-cam should be about. It should be a lot more creative and unique if they want to remain relevant in the future. Let others become soulless.
Me too. I feel the same way most of the time. As if I haven't find my people yet...But hey, I watched your video and its really really good! I cant imagine the work you put into it! Hope you'll find your right audience soon! Keep creating. Yt is really frustrating and wants a fast paced content, thus , leaving the real creators in the dust. Goodluck ❤
That's good. Keep that passionate flame going. Always good to stay positive!! :)

I will honestly say. Listen to anything these channels tell you with a grain of salt. They prey off of those who can’t seem to break out on TH-cam. And they’ll continuously drive you away from creating what you wanted to.
I like your comment, !!! I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE AWAY OF MY CREATIVITY. !!!

Don't fear failure, fear all the opportunity's you lose because your fear and insecurities and LET YOUR CREATIVITY SHOW YOU THAT YOU KNOW THAT EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE, JUST DO IT,................YOU WILL SUCCED.

I hada situation recently where I was using some music from a game in one of my videos. The developers are very cool with people doing this on TH-cam (they've literally said this), it doesn't get flagged by the Content ID system and they don't make copyright claims. But I used a certain piece of their music that did get flagged by Content ID. I was confused, and it turned out that it got flagged by another company that I guess represents independent music artists or something like that. Turns out some guy had remixed the game's music into his song, causing the Content ID to flag it as owned by him. I tried to appeal it but, of course, TH-cam just told me that the guy claims it's his and, as I'm not the owner of the music either, I can't really go further and say 'well, no it's not owned by him.' Just kind of sucks that the developers let people use their music and you've got a$$holes remixing it into their songs that are then copyrighted which prevent other people from using it themselves like they did.
That's probably the scummiest thing I've read. Hope those "independent artists" get their karma served...
Exactly....I used music from Dragon Raja (a mobile game) and it got claimed by some ásshãt
Did you email the Game Developers about it all?
Also say they need to do a basic licence to stop someone doing this.
The thing is..
You are using the original not their remix.
I suppose someone could get their remix and remix it again and then copyright them...
For all of you ripping on the person who issued the claim, they paid to use that source material. They have a right to defend their use of it the same as any copyright holder.
@@mySeaPrince_ I considered it but I was concerned that they wouldn't know how to handle the situation or what they could do (the claim is on my video after all, not theirs, meaning the option to appeal is only available to me, even though it's their music) and was concerned they might think the only response is to begin actively claiming and flagging all their music themselves to ensure no one else does, resulting in the same problem but worse. I might still do it though, I'm not sure. I'll continue to look into it.
Transformative is part of the key. Also, if your faceless video takes away any reason to watch the original content, you're heading for a confrontation.
He really creates exciting stories from those footages. He put his efforts in it. He deserves the outcome. People shouldn't be so strict like that. Thanks for sharing, Noah

My channel is pure hobby and does not generate money for me. Still, I was exited to see if channels like mine was mentioned in this context.
Thx for sharing. I really like your channel. But then again, we share same taste in movies it seems
Hi. Would you share why your channel is not monetized, despite having good amount of subscribers?
Yeah why... Your channel is not monetized despite the subscribers and the views??????
I'm not taking a side here whether it's good or bad to "transform" other's content. There are a whollllllle lotta people out there doing this now, so that's another conversation. That being said, there is a lot of very, very good & valuable (& common sense) info here. Thanks a ton! Great job!
Yea it all depends on what are you making. Prime Example of transformative content is Reaction channels. For other channels like science channel or some channels like education or explaintion type they generally use few seconds clip for refference purpose.
@VidIQ Do you still get paid with personal account? Or is it only brand youtube accounts now? And what about kid channels? My kids have a channel but debating if they should switch to brand or not
As a faceless channel recently accepted into the YPP, I can confirm all this to be good stuff
Hi there - great job on this video!! It is hard to get the truth sometimes - I have always felt that with any process, people try to beat the system and potentially ruin for it for other creators. You help us and it is appreciated. In my own businesses I was fair and honest.
This guy is literally trying to beat the system and trying to squirm away from copywrite laws. Another poster even said he has lost a ton of channels due to copywrite strikes.
Not really into making a faceless channel, but these tips are very useful to help getting some clips into podcasts and avoiding serious copyright issues.
Awesome content! Thank you kindly to you both ❤
How does music apply to this?
What do you mean? You have a huge TH-cam Library available for everyone to download, so there you can find free copyright music for your videos ;)
If you are asking questions like this, you did not listen to a thing in this video and you need to get your ass out your head
Nice work, very informative, keep on helping us in the TH-cam community.
Pretty disappointed that Vidiq is pushing this guy saying stealing from smaller channels makes it ok.
Guess u missed the whole point of the video. Tv programs been doing this for ages. All material being original is not always realistic.
@@TINABLESS88 I understood it completely, thanks. And a key message was, one way to get away with copyright theft is if your victim is too poor to sue in the US courts.
@@GrandThriftAutoYou clearly need to educate yourself on Copyright Infringement. Not everything is a violation.
@@TINABLESS88 Are you still going on about this? Since you've been so rudely condescending - I worked in publishing for 10 years and am very familiar with copyright law. But if you think it's fine to steal other people's work because you can get away with it then I've no more to say to you.
Yeah that’s just wrong

An amazing scumbag.

Finally, something I always wanted to know❤
I think some people are very mistaken about what 'public domain' means when it comes to copyright. Just because it's on the internet, or even published on a site that claims it is 'copyright free' does not mean something is 'public domain, thus copyright free. To be public domain a piece of content must indeed be copyright free, and it isn't unless expressly stated as so by the creator, or owner of the copyright, and the owner of the content isn't always the owner of the copyright. This is why, as a commission artist, I originally started taking my own reference photos. I then owned the copyright on the photos, and the art.
Exactly, people cannot be bothered to actually search out the CC license (and double check to make sure that someone hasn't lifted it then put it out under CC themselves.) It's too much hard work.
People find your angle too much hard work, going and taking your own photographs. It's an angle I always admire.
When I began in Motorsport journalism I found CC images were usually too poor quality (shots of F1 races from the 70s aren't generally good for publishing!) Modern CC shots from motor races taken by fans actually broke the condition of entry if used even editorially - rendering them unusable (even if rights holder don't enforce - not worth the risk) and press release images were very limited - eventually went through the process gain accreditation to do it properly myself.
Life would be so much easier if I could just lift content......
@@touringcarmagazine Just given you a subscribe since both my son and I are rallying fans, but will watch track racing too. I used to watch F1, but stopped some time ago when Bernie sold the UK out on the live races. Used to go and watch a friend track race, so I've tried getting shots/footage of races. It's not easy!
Well according to law public domain means usually the owner Donated it for free or the copyright has expired. For books its usually till the authors death. And for music- its till 50 uears after owners death. Well for photos its 70 years after owners death. Also Copyright free photos or Videos which one usually get they are not in public domain but Technically in Creative commons license but they don't usually bother to ask
I very recently had someone download my video and upload it as their own without doing any edits to it at all.
start putting a watermark is the only thing i know could help.
Great video. I learned alot about this! Thanks
Thank you for sharing this information
Thank you for the information this video was so helpful! 🤠
I follow Noah on Twitter, and one thing that bothers me in these videos is that he never mentioned a case where he lost a buch of channels linked to the same gmail account, because of copyright strikes and lost about 20 000$ from ad revenue a month if I remember correctly. (He has a Twitter thread about it). The way he avoids the risk now is with putting the high risk content on one gmail account, and lower risk content on other accounts, so if he losses some of them, it's less of a problem.
It's definitely an interesting topic. Not sure where Google stands with having multiple Ad sense accounts though, I think you can only have one connected to your own name? You could always open more from your family members and stuff but this whole topic is a bit shady and people should definitely be careful and decent if doing this...
I actually mentioned this in the interview. It got cut out 😄
Google told me in 2018 that you can have one Adsense Channel "per business entity". At the level he is at I'm guessing that there is more than one LLC, which would make sense.
@@noahmorris8511they really should have left that in, super important to know both the good sides and the bad with real examples. Glad you were transparent about that as well :)
Could you please post it on your channel in the Community feed?😉@@noahmorris8511
So knowingly breaking copywrite law but is smarmy and tries to work around it as much as possible. Not someone you should be looking up to.
I was using common creative licenced videos for one of my channels, but the content under that licence is often old and of low quality. This is useful information.
Sometimes it's really hard to find right type of content. This thing happened specially for education, explaining , science type channels. I also struggle many times to find the right video but sometimes we were not able to do.
@@tapabrataghatak7963 I used copyrighted news content today and I didn't have any problems since it was transformed.

No offence to VidIQ but this is by far the most value I have learned about content creation and fair use then I have learned in the 15 years i've been on TH-cam. Here is my question are copyright videos treated differently then image?
Very good information! I was getting ready to do everything wrong....
Fabulous information 🌹.
Thanks Vidiq
vidIQ, Subscribed because your content is fantastic!
Spot-on title here. The video was about avoiding copyright issues rather than teaching how to make fair use of copyrighted content
Great video ❤ Thanks for the information 🌹
Informative. I think the best way to ethically and legally do this is to act like a reputable news network. Treat it like such by giving credit and adding value!
The only way to avoid is to strictly not use anyones videos or copyrighted stuff.
Or ask permission!
To avoid all this nonsense, I just film my own videos.
Unless you are doing talking head videos it may not always be possible to get all your own footage.
That's a way:)
OCO ...
Original Content Only 😻
Yeah this is more practical if you have a team doing it.
That's the way to do it. Some good stuff there!
Subscribed.
Only on one or two vids have I used external footage - and I've got written permission for that - and one coming in a few weeks with press released copyright free content.
Might not be good stuff from me, but everything film/video and even 90% of the music is done by myself.
So can you get copyrighted if you want to share a lil clip of a celeb in a show/movie with a piece of work you made of them? Or is it better to share a user generated content/fan clip of the celeb. with your piece of work?? And can you share a fan clip from youtube or FB too?
How can you use clips in your videos without worrying about whether or not theyll CR you? ex. them using real life footage of people in court ( court case videos ) or whether motivational videos where they'll pull different scenes in movies/shows exc. and being able to use them...
Nice one. Very informative. Thanks for this
Hello, Thank you for this video. I have a question, If we take a video of an interview and reproduce it as is but adding a translation (in voice) in another language, can it cause problems? I can cite the source from which it was taken.
I'm not sure what VidIQ's intention is with this video. But it strengthens my resolve to not watch any videos on channels of this type. If they're not monetized and just sharing what is actually allowed to be shared, that's one thing. But to give counsel on how to skirt the laws and reduce your risk of getting caught, well, it just proves this guy's morals.
My channel is a gaming channel, and I don't show my face in my videos, but I have recently started using my voice in videos that are not live streams. I haven't been live streaming for very long either. I started live streaming at least weekly in June this year. That is the first time I ever did a voice reveal since silent live streams wouldn't do very good right? And then I decided to start using my voice in regular videos too (at least for some of them). Before I started using my voice I'd always get background music from the Audio Library to avoid issues with copyright. When I use my voice I don't have to really worry about picking music since I want the main audio to be my voice. I do usually still have background music at a very low volume in a separate audio track than my voice is so that there's not just silence in the seconds when I am taking a breath, reached end of a sentence, etc.
thanks for the information
so youre saying if i were to start a narrated channel and create animations myself like 3 animations for intro etc and have clips and voice overs that should be some what okay?
I appreciate your channel there is a lot of information
This video does not discourage stealing from other youtube creators, and does not encourage using footage fairly, instead telling people how not to "get caught". I do not like the vibes here
Agreed. Bad vibes from VidIQ. Was considering paying for VidIQ. Your point is well taken about their true colours here given this comes across like cheerleading for copyright abusers. Good video nonetheless though. Better to know.
When you’ve had a copyright claim placed clearly by analysis on your entirely original work multiple times by huge mega holding companies long enough to observe that they actually have a market in trading copyright claims, you will be even less impressed by the moral position on theft that VidIQ has apparently decided to take here about how to sneak away with ill gotten gains in your career as another IP appropriation abuser.
The key purpose of “Fair Use” under the U.S. copyright Act of 1976 ushered right in and placed in the seat of highest honour in this video as “a legal doctrine” without the slightest challenge by VidIQ in this piece (presumably because that would tend to upset the soothing pro-theft narrative and negatively impact AVD in this video) is to identify evidence, not to provide meme cred as B-roll in any random scheme uploaded.
Big companies have done this (to me for one example) since many years ago.
Calling the recipe “faceless” doesn’t ennoble it or change the ingredients list.
And VidIQ is apparently working hard now to spread the exact knowledge of precisely how you too, kids, can become a successful internet pickpocket. Start out by choosing targets well: no big companies with legal departments! You want to stick with DEFENCELESS targets. But careful you don’t do anything wrong while you’re pickpocketing.
Just because there’s a way to get away with it doesn’t make it right.
I appreciate you guys
can i use a screenshot of movie clip combined with 10 seconds of that movie alternate then another screenshot zooming and add effects a bit and sound effects of say a popular movie and put a commentary voice summary on 1 minute short video and applies fair use to avoid copyright? thank for the answer
Regarding uploading art videos:
Suppose one upload a drawing video by himself, and the item drawn is inspired /looks similar to another video.. Is the upload violating any rules?
What about when there is creative commons license on videos? or someone give you permission to use their content, will it be monetize or get any issue?
helpful to understand how those thief operates, as creators helps us to avoid
Nice video as always, but sorry Rob, this is not the first time I heard strange noises (mic problem), try to fix it.
Am I the only one who noticed this?)
I noticed on my channel that videos created by me with Creative Commons footages don't get recommended well. Adding value through transformation is quite subjective. Another thing I noticed is if I pay licenses for songs they keep copyright claims for long before clearance. during this time they get some money probably. What happens if I delete a video with a copyright claim? I think is better to delete after clearance. What do you guys think?
interesting, so you think the algo is downrating it because the footage also appears elsewhere. Makes sense but did not know.
@@RandomButBeautiful yes. Using copyrighted footage under fair rule might result in you sharing the income produced by the video with the copyright owner as well. He lets use the footage but claims a part of the income. Everything is quite tricky. The best is you have your own footage.
Thank you!
Thanks so much for this video
Great video! Very informaive!
So recap:
Steal
“Transform”
Only steal from people who can’t stop you
This is the dumbest and most exploitative way you can make content other than just putting your face next to a video and saying nothing (cough cough Sssniperwolf)
We know a thing or two about ©️ copyright. 🧠
Everytime I see your types of videos I wonder how the heck you get away with it 😆
@@rssjultra No they aren't monetized
Would be great to interview another source like @MovieGasm to get additional info! :)
True! How about making a video about that? Would love to watch it!
Question about narration. I narrate classic ghost stories - out of copyright - and write my own, then I add sound effects & artwork, but there are very large channels that upload narrations of in-copyright stories/books with no sound effects or original artwork. Does simply narrating something add sufficient value?
I don’t believe this is a good idea.
The channels that do this, just haven’t been caught yet.
Think about it. If I found a channel that just narrated Stephen King books, then I wouldn’t have to buy King’s books or audio books.
I’d just listen to them for free on TH-cam.
The TH-camr would basically be stealing money away from the original creator.
Great video. I run over 20 faceless channels and this is spot on.
Hows that going? Be interested to know what the slog was like before seeing results...
Cool. Thanks.
I have been on this plane, and seriously, I plan on suing.
Great content. Very informative and easy to follow along
Wow, this is so informative
I have question too here: Does ASMR commentary works too? I mean can you do a ASMR commentary style and be valid and monetizable?
Thanks 🙏
i went through many strikes because i have created a channel just for checking the limits of that issue. As resoult, mostly of strike came from other youtube channel becasue i have used their foto or video in a very seconds part. i didn't get strike from news or big channel as bloomberg ecc. As conclusion, i prefer to do image and video on my own and avoid all this issues which will for sure occure, and lusing time ecc..
This is exactly whats wrong with You Tube
Does text referring to the source make any difference? A way of showing you are acknowledging the original creator and not just trying to steal content? Does it help your argument for fair use or is it just a waste of time?
what about the shorts that have dual screen and one side is someone one playing a obstacle game while the other screen is like someone on a podcast ?
Ah yes, the Dark Arts....a.k.a. theft. As a small creator who is working his butt off to get to 1000 subscribers, I can't help but think it will be much more rewarding to find success without stealing from other creators.
You missed a pretty big question which is whether to do the counternotification to remove the strike or not.
But what about the use of Music? How does fair use or The Rules of Copyright in relation to Music work?
Excellent video 😊
Very informative speech about faceless thanks
I love how Formula One is mentioned here a few times as I have a formula one channel. I always use clips shorter than 8 seconds and switch it up with pictures. I rip F1 footage from other creators , usually zoom a little and I never had a copyright claim for it.
I have other issues with growing the channel. How would I go about and ask them to Vidiq?
So your just blatently stealing content from other creators. Guarenteed your time will come for a copywrite violation.
I am currently faceless but I'm thinking of doing facecam stuff soon honestly
Same
Just the video I need 😬 how about music audios?, would something like what I’m doing be considered “transformative”?

How does the “reaction” videos work? I’ve always wanted to make one, but was afraid to because of copyright strikes.
Thank you for the advice,l have decided to take You Tube seriously and post every single day this year ! Lets see how it goes !❤
This guy right here. I produce, errr, create drone videos. Been very tempted to try compiling lesser known pilots’ videos for shorts or top ten compilations. Thoughts?
