RG stands for Roadstar Guitar. In 198x, then shortened to RG. Same thing with the Saber, which is now just the S series. Love the Homer slippers! If you were down voting the volume and tone, I agree. I replace the electronics in my cheap(er/est) Ibanez guitars with Mad Hatter electronics. No soldering and replacing pickups becomes trivial and, again, no soldering!! Could you recommend a set of pickups to upgrade this guitar. I'm interested in a versatile Dimarzio set to play different metal subgenres (Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian, Megadeth, Amon Amarth, Fear Factory). After doing some research, I learned about the Super Distortion + PAF Pro set. What do you think of this combination for the sound I'm looking for?

Je découvre ta chaîne grâce à cette vidéo, je songe à changer de gratte, et il y'a de fortes chances que je passe sur Ibanez, ç'etait deja le cas pour ma basse et j'en suis content.

@@Oilid oui c'est impossible de prendre une autre marque que ibanez, ( quand tu n'as pas assez pour une Warwick évidemment) du coup, tres content de ma petite gsr 180, et hallucinant comment ça aide pour la guitare en fait en parallèle... J'aurai su avant, j'aurai pas hésité une seconde!

Le manche est large au sillet et fin de profil (Wizard).
Il convient aux shreddeurs qui jouent en position "classique", peu importe la taille des mains.

Which guitar is best for heavy metal?ibanez rga42 or ltd ec256???

*FOR THE SAME PRICE:* I would go for the LTD EC 256.
WHY? These 2 guitars are good but I prefer a narrower nut (42mm LTD / 43mm Ibanez).
It also depends on the size of your hands and fingers.
I got small hands, that's the only reason. :)
*Now, if one is more expensive, I would choose the less expensive one.*
Also, the pickups have not much difference at a hi-gain level.
The 2 guitars got "generic" pickups.
But it's easier to swap the LTD ones because they are NOT "direct mounted".
And also, keep in mind what shape you prefer and attracts you to play. :)
The Ibanez would suit best if you come from the classical nylon guitar world.
The Ibanez with its 24 frets and longer scale length is better for solos. ;)
I gave you some keys, now it's your choice. ;)

😆. I was thinking about starting home recording and know nothing about getting started and wanted it as easy as possible. Is your setup all I need? My ‘computer’ is a 3 yr old iPad 😆

"Apogee" makes audio interfaces aimed at Mac users.
It's a good brand.
The "Apogee Jam+" is the least expensive one.
To record and mix, if you don't like headphones, you may need to buy "active nearfield monitors" : Yamaha HS5 and Adam TV5 are the best quality/ratio.
Avoid Behringer and M-Audio at all costs! ;)
For headphones: you cannot go wrong with "Beyerdynamic".
As a DAW (Digital Audio Interface) you can download and use the free software : "Reaper".
And there are plenty of free guitar plugins.
Search on Google, download them and try.

Au vu des augmentations de prix (presque 400€ chez thomann pour cette guitare), est-ce qu'il y a des guitares de ce type qui seraient mieux?

La Amarok est largement supérieure avec ses EMG, ses frettes en acier inoxydable, des mécaniques Grover etc.

Une guitare avec un manche plus sympa qu'une type les Paul ça va me faire du bien. Et je sais que le manche agréable à jouer qui donne envie de jouer est 100x plus important qu'un look avec de l'accastillage ! Sans déconné je suis bassiste à la base et je joue avec presque que ma jazz bass tellement j'adore jouer avec. J'ai d'autres basses qui ont un meilleur son et une meilleur finition. Sauf le manche. Et ça donne moins envie de jouer.
Et je t'avoue que ton test de manche est loin d'être débile ! Bien au contraire.
Je viens de découvrir ta chaîne et tes reviews sont simples et sympas ! J'adore !

J'ai acheté 2 fois sur LBC à distance.
Les 2 fois se sont mal passées : un gars qui a mis la guitare à l'envers par rapport à l'écriture du carton.. tête cassée. Le mec a dû sentir que j'étais prêt à faire le voyage pour lui péter la tronche, remboursé en 2 2.
L'autre : manche vrillé, idem : renvoyée.
Maintenant, je n'achète plus qu'après inspection physique de l'instrument.
Lesson learned!

@@Oilid tu sais quoi ? Je viens de m'en commander une en bleu pour faire une review sur ma chaine - j'avais oublié que c'était ce modèle là que tu avais acheté d'occaz à 200 balles. Déjà, en bleu, elle est sublime ! Pour le son, faut que je creuse le sujet, je viens de la déballer. J'adore le clean sur les positions neck et middle en tout cas ! A+ :)

@@Oilid Thank you. Mine doesn't play smooth at all. I think it's the action. I've been playing for 30 years and I could never learn how to set the action and there isn't any place local that can do it.
@@Oilid I just had my RGA42FM set up professionally and I can honestly say it feels like shit. I've tried 8's, 9's, 10's and spent a couple of hundred dollars.
I'm definitely in the market for someone that can set this thing up to play as smooth as butter that everyone online claims it can.
There aren't decent guitar shops here so I'm trying to figure out where to send it to get it setup properly.

Gros coup de gueule sur ibanez.
Elle est pas chère et sans doute une bonne base pour un upgrade maisbune fois en main,elle est juste fini avec les pieds.
Le binding est a vomir ( vu sur 4 guitares ).
C'est vraiment dommage car le bois est vraiment joli.
Oui je te comprends à 100%.
Ça m'a fait la même chose sur leurs premières "fanned frets", j'en ai renvoyé 3 et j'ai été dégouté.
Ibanez fait partie des marques où c'est la loterie au niveau du Contrôle Qualité.
