  • The Ibanez RGA series has been a mainstay in the rock/metal guitar family. Bevelled edges, straightforward ergonomic design, solid tech and fast necks. Oh, and killer looks, typical of Ibanez RG models as a whole.
    Here we go through each pickup with a clean signal as well as test the guitar for blues soloing and modern metal rhythm.
    Sam talks us through the remarkable features of this solid weapon of a modern guitar.

    THANK YOU. You're the only one actually playing distorted chords with higher notes ringing out. It's vital to know how the guitar will sound with distortion. Usually they sound muddy as F, but this guitar actually sound really clean and crisp.. !!

    I have one in Black Aurora Burst. That guitar lives best on the edge of break, or with a little gain, chorus and reverb. Not totally bad for metal, but if you like super high gain, swapping the pickups would be best. You played it right where it sounds best. Thanks for the post!

      Did you end up getting it? I have this in the Dragon Eye Burst and just got a RG421AHM as well. They may look like metal shred machines, but man don't let the looks fool you. These RGA's and RG's are extremely versatile guitars. As shown in the video by the excellent playing!

      Hi dude! In theory yes, being able to split the coil of the pickups adds for some really quite nice cleaner tones, I played some bluesier examples here too which translated pretty well. Looks wise its certainly got more of a modern metal edge, I'd suggest havinga look at some "Jet" guitars for awesome features with moe traditional design aesthetics. Thanks so much for this great question, stay awesome! - Sam

    Hi , would this be an update on a Jackson js32 hardtail?

    • @HickiesMusicStore
      @HickiesMusicStore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If by that you mean upgrading your guitar - They are damn close. Would more than be worth weighing up upgrading your pickups before you completely upgrade (fishman fluence moderns would work well) or a slightly higher level ibanez, an RGA42HQPM springs to mind as being a great step up. We carry both!
      If you meant an update as in the guitars being similiar with a slightly newer set of features/materials in the Ibanez then yes, you are right. They are very similiar only the pickups on this particular ibanez are voiced slightly brighter than the stock jacksons. Hope either of these answers helps!
      If your local, pop down to the store in Reading and you are welcome to try anything and ask away as much as you like!

      Hi there, sorry to hear you had a bad experience with your instrument, I think any amount of quality control, be it on factory made or even hand built guitars, there can always be a few that may slip through with a finish flaw or setup issues. I'd definately reccomend contacting your dealer/distributor direct and seeing if they can help you out. Its got to be right! - Sam

      As if more expensive guitars, especially made in the U.S. have better quality. Especially with the Gibson there have been so many problems in my 38 years, that I do not wish the same for anyone.

    • @HickiesMusicStore
      @HickiesMusicStore  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Boss katana 50 going directly into an ssl2 interface, only special ingredients here are the guitar itself and a boss OD1X overdrive, which I'm using to boost a slightly warm crunch channel on the katana. Hope this helps! - Sam
