Just put your med kit items in a ziplock bag, then it'll be waterproof and easy to pull out. Packing tape etc can be put on the ziplock bag to reinforce it if need be, also add a couple high viz tape pull tabs to the ziplock bag so it's easy to open. The design of med kit you recommended is the way to go really, but this solution will work well in the meantime. 👍
Thanks for the comment and advice! I did something similar with a sandwich before and it worked super effectively. I love the idea of using packing tape to reinforce the seal and adding some tabs as well. I will certainly do that moving forward with some of my lose IFAk and boo boo kit for sure! That's was extremely helpful advice! I appreciate it!
@TacticalNewbie101 no problem, glad I could help lol. That's what I do with my kits that don't have a removable insert, and it protects all the gauze and whatnot that isn't waterproof. Amazon has heavy mil ziplocks, however the freezer bags work pretty well on their own lol. The more good knowledge we can share, the better off everyone will be lol. 👍
Good info. I have the Tacticon Armament belt, grabbed it off of eBay mainly because it was my size, but It's worked out well and I have reworked the layout a more than a few times.. Question, who makes the glove keeper? Thanks.
Thanks for the comment and support! The Tacticon Armament Battle Vest Elite is a great starter belt for sure and obviously is one of my favorites for sure! The glove keeper is the Toptacpro glove keeper. I like it because you can clip the glove and Velcro them upright and out of the way if you don't want them to dangle when not using them! Here is the link for it! amzn.to/3BADSIq
You know that on your Bison you have the pistol/rifle mag inverted but it's no problem...if you remove the kydex inserts (they are velcroed) and insert them from the other end you'll have the right setup. You need to have the same setup on all belts so you can retain muscle memory (the same meaning pistol rifle and holster in the same place). ✌️
Thanks for the comment and helpful advice! I did flip the configuration of the mag pouches right after this video was filmed. I was kinda experimenting with different configurations to see what worked for me but I absolutely agree that having a consistent configuration is key for developing good muscle memory when running the kit. Thanks again for the comment and helpful advice!
Thanks for the comment! I haven't found anything yet but I was thinking of adding some one sided stick on foam and maybe try to warm up the plastic some and try to reform it slightly. I may do a "Tactical D.I.Y." segment to feature some of the alterations. I have a few of these holsters now so I am gonna try a couple different options
Not too long ago just because I'm bored and I'm curious I put together some battle rattle built around a condor plate carrier and used only Amazon Chinese stuff, I really hate to say it but a lot of that knock-off stuff is pretty decent.
Thanks for the comment! Yea that's honestly the main reason I decided to start the channel. I had just started getting into and researching a ton of tactical gear and was astounded at the prices of the high end Gucci stuff. Then when I found some of the similar budget gear featured on Amazon for more then half the price I said "fuck it" and decide to give it a go. From there the channel kinda evolved into reviewing a lot of this budget gear and making an honest attempt to compare it to its Gucci counterpart from the view of someone just starting out like myself. Needless to say the similarities in quality for most of the budget gear (but certainly not all of it, there is a lot of junk out there too) was surprising! Thanks again!
@TacticalNewbie101 I completely get it, my 'highend' go to is normally highspeed gear, spiritus and Beez combat systems, 2 of the three are ok no issues but honestly a lot of the Amazon stuff is just as good and I can find those odd camo patterns in a lot more accessories. On the camo patterns, the last thing I want is to look like is government, military or antifa so besides woodland try to find a water bottle holder with cover With mollie in A-Tacs anything from the high end guys. Condor is completely underrated I have a plate carrier from them holding a set of 12x11 level 4 steel plates, for 3 years now plus there belt no issues, thats actually my breaching / urban set up, stomach & Groin level 3 is from URM Mil-Tec,Emersongear and Exellent Elite Spanker also underrated. Few places I go to for a lot of that Chinese & Taiwan made stuff, Tactical performance EOD gear 0241 tactical UR Tactical UARM In any place I can buy large size totes on the cheap because dear God the stuff will pile up😆, as a matter of fact I'm going through a lot of it at the moment changing some things around for winter and dear Lord my garage is normally straightened out right now it's a complete disaster Zone, it seriously looks like I'm gearing up a small unit to invade a South African country. I look forward to your reviews and the work you're doing do my part with 👍 and comment's, have an awesome day!
There’s too much stuff in your ifak. A belt ifak should be more of an immediate needs life saving gear not “boo boo kit”. Keep your boo boo kit in your backpack or truck. It doesn’t need to be on your belt as it makes finding the actual life saving equipment more difficult when you have to sort through a bunch of other stuff
Thanks for the comment and advice! I tend to get a mixed variety of different recommendations in the comments section as it pertains to a multitude of different kit configurations and set ups. As it pertains to IFAK's and medical kits, some guys recommend having a decent amount of medical on hand for a variety of different applications while other guys recommend just having the essential life saving equipment only. I am kinda experimenting with both options and trying to figure out what works best for myself and the application I may need said specific medical for. I really appreciate the helpful advice and I will take it into high consideration as I evaluate and test different options. Definitely keep the advice coming! It's advice like this that really helps guys like myself figure things out! Thanks again.
@ I would say keep everything on hand but only keep the immediate life saving equipment in your ifak. The rest of the stuff can go in a backpack or range bag or even in a cargo pocket
That quantum leap clip was crazy back in the day lmao. dope content man.
Thanks for the comment! Hahahah! I know right! The early 90's was a wild time!
Hello, first time I’ve seen your videos and enjoyed your thoughts and builds of these belts.
