Hey man, do you have any information about installing Ninja 400 fork cartridge kit on the Z400? Both of them practically have the same dimension of fork right?
This might be my 3rd bike. I only have a few years of riding experience but there's something about its low weight-to-power ratio that seems very tempting. Put one between my legs at the shop and I am very satisfied with how it feels.

Loving this bike for a sub 600cc motorcycle. KTM needs to get it's act together with that RC and Duke. They developed a 800 twin, they can develop a 400 twin with that beautiful 285° crank. Personally as an experienced rider who has had a little of everything and demoed a little of everything, the Ninja 400 would be my choice for a second bike, turned into a project. Suspension, brakes, power, controls, etc. would be a superb funster, 350 pounds and nearly 50 hp. Nothing else quite offers the same weight category while having good reliable power to boot.

I am 5'11" 195 lbs and 53 y.o. I currently have a fun 2006 Suzie SV650 Naked which is almost done and would not mind 'going down' to something like this. The bars could be a little bit higher, maybe I would put a bar riser like I did on the SV. I would also put some rubberized foam/filler inside the bars to quell some of the excessive vibrations which may be a killer on touring rides. Finally a tall windshield for them touring rides, which can be long and fast on Florida Hwys.
Still using that HORRID BS seat. The CB300R has a better seat, the G310R has a MUUUUUUCH more comfortable seat than ANY of the sub 500cc sporty style bikes. BUT, both the CB300R and the Z400/Ninja400 come in so low on the price tag that a nice comfy aftermarket seat (Sargent's gel seat) is available for just a couple of Franklins. GREAT review Spurge! Very well done (as always)
As a beginner, I love the Yamaha MT 03 and the Kawasaki Z400. What would you recommend? Its for everyday use, commute to work and back and a few rides to another near towns per month. Thank you! Keep up with the videos!
Kinda weird hearing that as a local that's grown up In Elsinore. But it's completely understandable having driven through the Ortega highway plenty of times

The Look Out there on Ortega Hwy is one of my favorite spots to get off a bike and enjoy the view. Great road to ride on. Thanks for another great review.
Revzilla! I have an idea for you. How about you set up a complete set of bike gear? Gloves, boots, pants, jacket, helmet, for a good deal. For us noobs out there, it's not *that* important to get the most expensive and "best", we just need some gear to get started.
My bottom-line is that naked bikes just look cooler to me. Where I am, every random normie buys a sportbike and thinks they're cool for having it, and rarely do people pick up a naked bike, they're quite rare of a sight here. I'll pick up a sport bike for the look and get basically the same performance, yet more comfort, as a sport bike of the same caliber. It's ironic that the naked bikes, supposedly catered toward people uncomfortable with sport motorcycles, get picked up more by more experienced riders. The performance to comfort ratio is by far the most important aspect to riders. Most people buying sport bikes don't fully grasp the discomfort of it for daily riding for leisure. Get a naked bike if you want a good time and a lot of power.
Two pounds less, "naked", than my super gorgeous full fairings 2018 KRT Edition - there's no contest, my Ninja wins hands down ! BTW - haven't seen snow in south Florida since I moved down here about 30 years ago - don't need to travel cross country to ride any day of the year.
I have nh750, starter gave issues after sitting for 2 months of hard rain. Hard to find replacement parts for it too, the aftermarket starters are all wrong

Can't wait to check one out. I really like the motors on the small sportbikes, but really, if its not that fast, it shouldn't look like a sportbike. The appearance of those says "fast" but then its not what you expect. All you expect from a standard bike is for it to go along and do its thing. I wish there was an MT03 but i'm gonna check this out when its in the showrooms...
What I don't like about this bike (z400 and ninja 400) is that the engine is part of the frame which I doubt for it's durability. I bet if you crash this just once, the frame will bend will cause a lot of $$ to repair...
Snow is melting spring is in the air and I still don’t know which bike I prefer to get, the z400abs or ninja400. On top of that 2017 ninja 300 with zero miles on em are selling super cheap where I live. Looking for a comfortable but fun commuter. Looking for a low cc bike tired of getting into trouble on public streets. Years ago there was hardly any cops where I live now I really have to watch how much I twist.
I never really got a look at the bike. All I got a look at was the guy riding the bike. I gave up halfway through the video. It’s a lot like when a reporter on the local TV news is standing in front of the camera and reporting a terrible fire or an accident, and the camera never goes off of the reporter to the fire or the accident
This is good to know about these 2 bikes from Kawasaki. Are you guys gonna do a review of the new Yamaha TW200? I’m thinking about maybe getting one as a commuter.
We probably won't be reviewing the TW. If you don't need highway speeds, it's a great little commuter. For better highway riding on a dual sport, you might consider the slightly more powerful XT250. -DrewZilla

Got a ninja 400 and love it. No ergo issues
Yes finally! I've been waiting on this bike to be reviewed!
How bout comparing the Z400 to the Duke 390 2017-2019?...
Would love to see it since I owned a duke 390
I am interested in duke 390. So i'll look into any other 400 cc naked bikes. Any recommendations?
Would love to see that!
@@Ciki92 skip the Duke I've owned one for less than a year and it had some issues. I upgraded to a z900 0 issues ... Kawasaki has a better warranty as well.
@@TheSlickguy01 right i heard about the issues on duke. I am looking into z650, looks good
Finally a Z400 video.
The MT-07 has been praised for being a great first bike that's going to last and have fun for years without having to change and upgrade to other bikes. Can the Z400 be a budget version of the MT-07 both by price and insurance cost?
Likely yes, but insurance rates can vary a lot by region, country, and insurance company. -DrewZilla
@Redrum Hmm, good info. Thanks!
Two awesome little bikes! I'm glad Kawi released the Ninja and will release the Z in my country too.
in USA the ninja 400 is EUR 4656.76, in Austria (EU) its is (with lowered prize) EUR 6200.00 - what the actual F?
@@ctWOOOO in croatia its 6600 euro
Felipe NT-D just got the Z yesterday and love it
Ernstl Golden lol ur lucky it’s like this.. in my country here it’s 10,101 EUR.... that is converted to EUR rate. Now u say what the actual F? :(
Just got my license and a 2021 z 400,it's fun for sure ...
Ninja 400 suspension just awarded me a lifelong slipdisk. You are probably paid advertiser for ninja 400.
They're basically the same bike but the 400 looks cooler in my opinion. That's just my taste though.
Man, that Icon helmet is bloody awesome.
I know, right?! It's the Icon Airflite Inky Helmet and RST Red Shield! -DrewZilla

Own two Harleys but the z400 is looking good
I still prefer the ninja. More protection and better cornering. Also feels more planted and more comfortable under hard acceleration
As a beginner, I love the Yamaha MT 03 and the Kawasaki Z400. What would you recommend? Its for everyday use, commute to work and back and a few rides to another near towns per month.
Thank you! Keep up with the videos!
I'm literally going through the same choice or a cb300r. So I'm curious as to what people say
What did you end up buying? And what do you think of it?
The helmet us just gorgeous. ICONick
Thanks! It's the Icon Airflite Inky Helmet and RST Red Shield! -DrewZilla

Yea its a good looking helmet
Highway 74 Lake Elsinore to San Clemente Ortega highway one of the deadliest highways in souther California, Lake Elsinore at top view looking down.
Kinda weird hearing that as a local that's grown up In Elsinore. But it's completely understandable having driven through the Ortega highway plenty of times
@@paulmendez5799 there is a plaque they put up for all the people and motorcyclist that have lost there lives. Look it up cant remember exactly were, I think by the little town or shop around that area cant remember were exactly but they put something up any one with more detail please post thanks.
Hey, thanks for this review it really helped me to make a decision on what bike to get....Thanks , God Bless you
The Look Out there on Ortega Hwy is one of my favorite spots to get off a bike and enjoy the view. Great road to ride on. Thanks for another great review.
Love that place!
nice helmet tho ! for me z300 is more handsome and aggressive looking than z400
This, I can't part with my z300 because the z400 is so ugly :(
yes pal i agreed the only one part i like in z400 is the wheel bcoz its wider both back and front.
Yes sir! I agree on that. Z300 is definitely much badass looking. 😍😍😍
I wish they'd make a sport touring version of these bikes. Concourse 400
That or a Versys 400. Maybe someday
@@torstikinnunen3801 already have the versys 300, I want one of these with bags, a better seat and taller windshield
@@torstikinnunen3801 yes so were not at 10,500rpm to get the hp the 300 claims.
7:56 the shot of the bike is so cool. but looking at the naked belly of the Z400 is an eye sore.
Revzilla! I have an idea for you. How about you set up a complete set of bike gear? Gloves, boots, pants, jacket, helmet, for a good deal. For us noobs out there, it's not *that* important to get the most expensive and "best", we just need some gear to get started.
Perhaps our Beginner Gear Guide might interest you. -DrewZilla

Not a word about the looks of it!
I checked both I just love the ninja 400 style a lot more. The z looks like a mosquito 🦟 lol.
The best review/comparison I've watched. Great work.. Btw, what brand and model is your helmet? Thanks
Icon- 'Airflite'.
Thank you. Watching from Philippines✌🏽🙏🏽 ❤
Your camera positioning is awesome
Two pounds less, "naked", than my super gorgeous full fairings 2018 KRT Edition - there's no contest, my Ninja wins hands down
!
BTW - haven't seen snow in south Florida since I moved down here about 30 years ago - don't need to travel cross country to ride any day of the year.
Is 363 lbs wet
Now if Kawasaki would put this engine in the Versys X....
Would be the final piece for the Versys X in my opinion. Little bit more torque and power lower in the rev range would make that bike totally awesome.
You didn't comment on the instrument cluster. I found it harder to read than the Ninja's.
Both bikes are awesome
But still i will buy ninja 400
woot finally z400 review
Great video guys, very informative!
I would love to see a review of the new Yamaha Tracers specifically the GT editions
Cant wait till the snow melts here in Minnesota. I'm dying to ride my Nighthawk!
I have nh750, starter gave issues after sitting for 2 months of hard rain. Hard to find replacement parts for it too, the aftermarket starters are all wrong
Will be picking one up in the spring! Can't wait!
How does it compare to the KTM Duke 390 and BMW G310R (just don’t talk about power...)?
Very similar power figures in the specs. KTM and BMW are more electronic than kawi in this range of bikes.
Best little Lookout Roadhouse off Ortega - good choice!
Thats a slick Visor man.
@RevZilla is the Z400 good for beginners ?
Jesus MLG yep
This is a great bike for beginners.
*opening shot in Philly*...oh cool I grew up in Philly!...*switches to Manhattan Beach, CA*...”hey that’s where I live now!...*switches shot to riding in Palos Verdes to test the bike*...WAIT that’s where I primarily ride! It’s like this video was made for me. Thanks guys.
Palomar Mountain, good times!
Always a good time!
What kind of helmet are you wearing? Great video, thanks!
Soooo, again with these 220 pounds. Where is Lemmy to comment?
220 in a push up bra
dude the head light design is aweful... why not make it like z1?
Too many giant dump trucks on Ortega Highway these days.
Helmet was so cool! Love the review!
Thanls! It's the Icon Airflite Inky Helmet and RST Red Shield! -DrewZilla

I'm 6'3" 300lbs, first time rider. Would I be too large for the 400? Would be an every day commuter. Would I be better off on the 650?
I had the z 300. I Think the z 400 looks a lot less Sharp.
they've done the same things as they did with the z900, uglier version of the previous bike
Wow that's damn cold, here in Malaysia is 95 degree F l, 35c
Meanwhile, waiting for the Z400RS...
So a Versys 400 is to be expected this november.
Nope
WHY IS IT SO GODDAMN HARD FOR THE JAPANESE TO PUT MIRRORS ON IT THAT ARE WIDE ENOUGH!?
Aerodynamics. Do u learn anything about engineering?
So he keeps saying the z400 is good for around town, but would it be okay for free way commuting too?
This is good to know about these 2 bikes from Kawasaki. Are you guys gonna do a review of the new Yamaha TW200? I’m thinking about maybe getting one as a commuter.
We probably won't be reviewing the TW. If you don't need highway speeds, it's a great little commuter. For better highway riding on a dual sport, you might consider the slightly more powerful XT250. -DrewZilla
Really useful review! Thanks!
If I could I would go with both of them
