I swim every single day in the evening! It's one of my favourite ways to unwind after a work day, and I find only pros, no cons! I still have the energy to swim, and it's something I actually always look forward to. I walk from home to the gym for about 40 minutes and then swim for 45 minutes, in my own lane, and then walk back home. It's my own perfect routine and I love it!
I love to go in the morning because there is a lot of older people, they swim in the slow lane. The middle and the fast lane are not crowded. My most challenging day is Monday, there are 6 triathletes that are training and the pace is hard to follow but I see it as motivation. I would like to be like that as well. ...In time :) Here is my morning schedule : 4: 50 wake up 5:00 Coffee with the Coffee self-talk (kind of positive affirmation) 5: 30 small breakfast 6:00 getting ready for the pool and preparing the kids clothes so they can get dress when I am back 6:30 walk towards the pool, it's about 20 minutes from home 7:00 Swimming 50 x 25m during the 45 minutes window I have (we have to reserve due to the actual situation) 7:45 Walk back home 8:00 finish to prepare my kids and make sure they are ready for school, a bit of tidying up 8:30 the kids are gone to school its shower time Getting ready for the day !!! Thank you so much for your videos! Its the bit of information that I was missing to continue.
Im an early bird! Love swimming in the A.M. For me, morning swims are best because I get to see the night sky turn into orangey-red and then blue, its the most prettiest and wonderful thing about AM swims. I realize night swims my form might not be as well, as by then I am already too tired, I try to swim when I am at my best energy so that I practice with good form, because technique matters. Thanks for this video, I enjoyed it! Keep it up!!!
I typically swim in the evening after work. It is something for me to look forward to at the end of the day to decompress. If I swim in the morning, I end up wanting to swim again in the evening anyways.
I'm an artist and I've never even taken a swimming lesson but I've been looking for a workout that would get me off the couch without hurting myself while also being enjoyable... all of a sudden I thought of swimming and how much I loved going to the pool as a kid/teenager and also to the beach... was always the first one in/last one out. I'm excited to see if this will be the thing to get me out of my physical funk and into an active lifestyle!
Mid-day for me, or at least what’s considered mid-day in Spain! I’m a teacher so I’m done with work and able to get to the pool by 3pm. Going directly after work has helped me a lot with consistency.
In Australia When I was swimming I loved the early or ing on a empty stomach during summer... it’s when I had the most energy... in winter it was around noon... but in the ocean I could just go whenever. Nothing beats the feeling of swimming in the ocean 🌊 ocean is my true happy place 🥺🥺❤️🌊
Noon, twice a week. I'm a freelance writer & novelist, so in theory my schedule is flexible (not really). I also do Crossfit 4-6 days a week at 6 AM. I used to swim in the evening when I went to a different pool. I prefer noon.
for me being rather a merman, any time is a good time for a swim. I love my early morning, or dawn chorus swim, which starts off with the sounds of owls, deer, and foxes, and ends a few hours later with all the day birds singing/calling. at the same time, a late evening/night swim is also magic, with the daytime wildlife settling in for the night, and the night creatures coming out. there again, a day time swim, with the ducks, geese, swans, and gulls around you, is also not to be missed. if I could ask the good lord for one extra thing on my body, it would be gills, so that I could sleep and live underwater.
before I do any swimming, I go water walking, leg stretching, do some cardio, by this time my body is ready to go, and right now I do morning swimming with a combo of weight training. I use to swim competitively in high school, now I am working on endurance after having CHF.
I lived in southern AZ and during the winter, i would swim in the evening because it was "warmer" than the AM (around 6am) it could be 43 degrees, the pool was heated but you had to hurry and get dressed BUT in the summer I would swim in the morning because it was was cooler. During a Phoenix summer the pool was warmer in the evening so it was like lukewarm. Not very refreshing after a long day.
I like Early morning. It is great just after 15 minute meditation. We are at Greensboro Aquatic center 5:30 am -7:15 am just before working from home in this Pandemic. Day is not cheated.
Weekends I swim in the mornings, week days I swim 4pm which is after work for me, afternoon is busy in the warmer mths but quiet in the cooler mths as I swim at an outdoor, those times are what fit in with my work schedule
I swim 4 times a week -- I have 1 evening and 2 mornings locked in, and then on the other day, I play it by ear: If I'm up early enough, I go then, but if not, it's another evening swim. For my evening swims, I eat early (by 5:30 or so), and then swim from approx 7 pm to 8 pm. That gives me enough time to wind down, usually. I think my favorite are the morning swims, but then again, I love the evening swims for totally decompressing from the entire day. If I had enough time that I could swim both mornings and evenings each and every day, that would be my STRONG preference! 🐟🐠
p.s. If I am lucky enough to retire someday, this will be my retirement goal. Morning and evening swims every single day. I will own a minimum of 5 swimsuits for the occasion. Retirement cannot come soon enough! 😆
I usually swim 3 times per week @4-6km (in the winter only 0.6-1.2km) in open waters (we have 3 lakes in area) in the night and that relax me and make me to feel great. I do that for better state of mind and for rare occasion of triathlon contest for 50+ yo. When i have opportunity, i also swim in the night in the sea, sometimes greater distances.
ps: i HATE swimming pools with that chlorite substance in the water and i hate to PAY for swimming, it's a natural activity,,it's like i would pay for breathing.. but probaly in that hoax society.. that will hapen soon. Even "our PROPRIETY" is an ILLUSION induced by our masters and owners...
I swim at whatever time e works better with my work schedule, but I like the afternoon swims done from work nothing else on the schedule and I get to enjoy and relax.
Without reading this I will tell you it all depends on your on your lifestyle. When you eat what time you work how much of the exercise you have to do during the day. Yes, Ciradian cycle comes into it, but it's not the be all and end all.
I’ve always been swimming at 13:30 or 19:30 for the past few years doing a 3 to 4km session. However I’m becoming a dad in august and things may change drastically. I might have to switch to morning session in order to be available in the house more during the day. Anyone who recently became a parent can confirm that? Is it doable?
I prefer train in the evening. Simply because I have the feeling that this is 'the last hard part of the day' and after that I can relax. So training is like separator between work part of the day and rest. It actually boost my motivation. And I don't need to save up my energy. It works great for the running. But for swimming - not so much. Too many people in the pool after work hours. So I usually swim in the morning and try too keep intencity under control. Otherwise I'll be tired whole day.
Rn, lunch hour, during the week. tried mornings. The pool is too crowded. On weekends, I don't have a choice - morning swim, crowded pool! I'm currently on day 47 of 100 days, 1000m.
I swim in the late evening because that's when the pool is available. It's also available in the early morning. But I've had enough morning practice for a lifetime.
I like to swim to maintain my level of fitness for scuba diving. I swim whenever I can. It doesn't matter if it's morning, afternoon, or evening, as long as I am able get to swim. I am good, but it depends on my schedule.
New to swimming; been doing it 5/6 days a week for a year (1 hour each session) I prefer evening. No one in the pool and no sun damaged skin (tanned even with sunblock).
On holiday I swim at lunch time and I think it is the best. Unfortunately I can’t do that all the time. I have to adapt to early morning or evening, but in the end it is just a matter of routine
You have to be extremely careful when drinking caffeine before exercise, especially if you are in an older age group. I am over 55 and once had a caffeinated drink prior to swimming and my heart rate went through the roof during strenuous swimming and I became extremely distressed. I think you should be extremely careful when having caffeinated drinks prior to a swimming workout. Just my observation.
I didn't see mentioned the variables of time of year, indoors or outdoors, water temperature, air temperature (except from the AZ respondent), and sun and sun protection. We moved into a house with a backyard pool. Last summer I swam everyday, but I was worried about the SoCal sun, and the water didn't really warm up until about 2pm, so I ended up swimming between 3-5pm. I love to swim and swam 1.2mi a day (that is 100 laps in this small pool). It turned out that no matter how much SPF I applied, I still got quite a bit of exposure. For this year, I am hoping that a "slipins" suit or rash guard will keep me a little warmer and protect me so I can go around 10 am after some other activities. I am 75, retired, female, and slim (so not a lot of warmth). I welcome suggestions from all the viewers. I also just got my Apple Watch and will be trying the App this summer.
I swim every single day at morning around 7-8am but after 2 Or 3 weeks I always get sick like high fever, cough etc.....i have to stop for a month or 2 months to recover from sickness then start again If you suggest which is the best time to go for a swim and what to eat or drink after a swim
If it’s summer break/winter break for school it’s 7:00-9:00 and 18:00-20:00, 18:00-20:00 is my favorite time to swim because I’m very fast then idk why
