    I do it this way too, but I bolt the wheel to the spare tire rack on the back of the car first. Super easy to put some force onto it that way. I’ll do all five wheels in about 45 min. I bolt it so that the valve stem is at the top and use my knee to push the rubber over the bag. Love the idea of the grommet!

    Loved your video probably the best video i've seen in a long time. The plastic bag and ties, made so much sense. Oh crap now I want to go out and buy new tires!

      Start saving. New tires are sooo expensive now.

    This works. I did 5 Model A 21 inch wheels this afternoon. It took about 15 minutes per tire which included prepping the tube with powder. You did a great job of explaining so thank you for that. I can't see why anyone would do it any other way and risk scratching the rim.

    Very well presented and educational. Thank You for your time and consideration. I will use this method when I need to work on tires.

      I hope you have good luck with this method. I found it to me much easier.

    That was an excellent tutorial. An old biker taught me that many moos ago using the oiled waxed paper that use to be found protecting bearings from moisture in the box. That is one of those things you just don't see anymore.

    The zip ties and clamp is a good idea. I’ve used the black bag before.

      I stole the zip ties idea from motor cycle tire mounting techniques.

    Just saw this and subscribed! Awesome vid - was about to install some tires on 16” rims. Will have to find some grommets first though. All the way from Melbourne AUS

    I am thankful modern tyres are not this hard to install. They just pop on. If the tyre is rather damaged but has a good tread, then I use an inner tube.

    Nicely done. Have heard of this technique but have yet to try it. I have some old used clincher tires that are hard to install even on a hot day. Regarding valve stems, have you removed the rubber stems and retrofitted with the original metal type? They are armored from stem damage where they come up through the rim and also look great.

      I am not aware of the ability/technique to replace a rubber valve stem with a metal one. Where can I learn more of this technique?

    What happens if there’s no yellow dot but a green dot is visible on the tire?

    How do you balance the tire?

    • @flivverchannel
      @flivverchannel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't! My T goes so slow, it's not needed. But for faster cars, you can use tire beads, or do a manual static balance

    Where did you get the rim protects in the dismount video?

    • @flivverchannel
      @flivverchannel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are called motorcycle rim protectors. Available on Amazon and other. Quite innexpensive

    Where can you purchase the grommets ?

    • @flivverchannel
      @flivverchannel  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Amazon, or even some hardware stores. Measure valve stems first. You may have to slit the grommets to expand them slighy. Good luck

    The Bicycle industry makes plastic bead levers, that you may find helpful.
