Perfect song for where I am now. Just lost my daddy on 11-17-21. I am not a drama person at all...I miss him, I wish people could see this in me as I am.

I liked this song as a kid. I used to rewind the last 30 seconds to listen to it over and over.. I never saw the music vid.. As an adult I saw the music video and realized it was a message from God.. The last 30 seconds was showing me my destiny.. I just won a court battle to see my daughter that my ex wife was keeping from me. My daughter is half Korean... How anyone could NOT like Collective Soul is beyond me. Right now, there are only 2 bands in my opinion where EVERYTHING they make is amazing. Foo Fighters is one band, and Collective Soul is the other.
Collective Soul was so underrated in the 90s so underrated it hurts. they wrote beautiful uplifting songs... I guess the 90s were filled with angry people. well... i was one.
@@herbertrichard614 I heard he made his wife get an abortion and later became obsessed with guilt. Hence the 'fetus tree' in one of his videos. Forgiveness is a mighty thing not to be denied to others nor to ourselves.

Collective Soul is a simply amazing band. no words can describe how talented this band is. they are simply music geniuses. i have been a fan of CS for 15 years and still going.
I love, love, love Collective Soul. I love this song and I love this video. I think the only way it has ever been topped is when they did it with the Atlanta youth orchestra. I love Ed's voice. And man are they ever young here!!!
Not only is their music brilliant..but something about Ed is astounding as a lead singer. Feels like he can look straight through you. His voice and presence are so powerful!
My favorite band since the late 90's til this day 2022. He is so handsome ( Ed) Just saw them this month Sept in Houston. The best songs is this wonderful band! 🎶🎶❤️🌹🙏
This song has deep meaning to me, not sure why, but it has since the first time I heard it. Powerful lyrics that each person can interpret their own way.
Same. I think we all feel like we don’t need anyone at some point in our lives. When those we love try to talk to us, we don’t listen to “the weight of [their] words” & push them away. At the same time, we look for things to make us feel perfect & whole, but it’s temporary & causes us distress. Then, we realize that special person(s) is all we need. “You’re all I need. And now I cry my soul to sleep.” At least, that’s how it feels to me. 😊
Really love this song playing it twice,I dedicate to my heavenly Father for reasons.im spiritual, religious,,I know the Holy Spirit, and jesus.an the good Lord.
It was this album and especially this track that made me realize just how far these guys had come and how they had matured as artists. Just....incredible.
this is easily one of their greatest and most underrated songs. they are underrated to begin with... and most of their songs are some of the greatest in the whole world ;)
Back when songs were crafted and dynamic, not manufactured and boring! Lifelong CS fan! Just saw them last night and they still deliver the goods live.
This song is to music as Hemingway was to the written word. It's one of my absolute favorites, and I'm almost exclusively into thrash metal and hard rock.
That is one seriously pensive sip of the of coffee at .40 - in fact it should be shown in drama school to those students wishing to know how to successfully pull off the pensive look. Top stuff
Amazing song and band, I Love Collective Soul. Ed Roland, is a musical Genius. I hope he will do a book and share his story with us. Lyrics are so deep and inspiring in all his songs.
First off CS is one of the greatest yet underated bands I know. I love these guys!! They play music out side of the box. I mean they step in directions that challenge their skill and bring into fruition masterpieces such as this song. While they where known as alternative rock these guys can play it all. I really enjoy the 3:10 and beyond. What talent to bring this all together.
This has such a strong Christian undertone, even if they wrote it that way or not. Just read the lyrics, they are so powerful and show an open and honest introspective on a relationship with the Holy Spirit.
This song has more views than any other song from this album on TH-cam and yet they only play Heavy live anymore. 🤷♂️ This really should be back in the setlist! I'd rank this as one of the top 15 CS songs in their entire catalog.

90's music still the best to listen for me until today
Lyrics:
All around me I see what weakness has made
Too much tomorrow I think I'll take all today
Am I a poison am I a thorn in the side
Am I a picture perfect subject tonight
I don't need nobody
I don't need the weight of words
To find the way
To crash on through
I don't need nobody
I just need to learn the depth
Or doubt of faith to fall into
Here I slumber to awaken my daze
I find convenience in this savior I save
Am I a prison am I a source of dire news
Am I a picture perfect reason for you
I don't need nobody
I don't need the weight of words
To find the way
To crash on through
I don't need nobody
I just need to learn the depth
Or doubt of faith to fall into
In this time of substitute
It's my needs I've answered to (all the while)
And all the hopes that I invest
Turns to signals of distress (all the while)
I don't need nobody
I don't need the weight of words
To find the way
To crash on through
I don't need nobody
I just need to learn the depth
Or doubt of faith to fall into
You are all I need
When the water runs deep
You're all I need
Now I cry my soul to sleep
You're all I need
You are all I need
You are all I need
You are all I need
