1987 Toyota Land Cruiser HJ61 exhaust sound comparison! 12H-T engine sound!

Sound comparison between rusted out stock pipe with no mufflers and a huge 3.5 inch side outlet and new stock pipe with smoother bends, resonator and 2 inch side outlet. The new pipe has 59 mm(outside diameter) or 2.3 inch inlet(tube before the flexing part) and 54 mm(outside diam.) or 2.1 inch outlet(tube after the flexing part). Resonator is 41 cm or 16 inches long and has 2 inch inlet and outlet. It's typically breath through style and has small holes in the inside pipe and propably some kind of wool around it. I put the ends of the tubes into a exhaust pipe connecting sleeve and welded all together with a cheap fluxcore welder. Not pretty but works. Then I painted the exhaust pipe with hotpaint. The resonator + solid new pipe and smaller exhaust tip made turbo whistle almost disappear and made the growl just a little bit quieter. I bet that the new assembly flows better than the old one dispite the noise reduction. The cost of all the bits and pieces was around 250 euros or 300 bucks. Daily driving and longer drives are now a little bit more comfortable and inspection guy is hopefully happier next year.
