Phone works through the same aux cable
If I'm not mistaken, it's a remnant from a time when you could add an optional phone into your car. But built into your car, like a landline. You gotta think this is pre iPhone and back when cell phones where newer and you had to "find" a signal by getting up high or facing a certain direction. I could be wrong, but the person I bought mine from said she had one with the phone when she was younger.

Thank you for this video. I have sourced a Bose Sound speaker kit consist of the Speakers for dashboard, front doors, rear doors, one subwoofer and an Amplifier. How do I go about the retro fit? Would the Audio 20 supports these speakers? The Bose Amplifier comes with Fiber connect which draws the source signal from head unit. Pls advise.

Had this car for 2 years just now found out it has an aux
For the phone system you need to have phone that is inside of the cars center arm rest upper compartment. If you have the phone and it has SIM-card you can use car console as phone keyboard. Atleast it is for me like that in my 2004 C55.

It is also in the 2008 CLC220 CDI Sport ( I had one UK ) iphone would not Connect & I had the bluetooth unit (that had a SIM )

On the right side of the radio below the numbers there is something called 'tel' i assumed it was for the phone

well the hole is not actually there its a little blank in the side of the glove box you have to knock it out with a screw driver, you may see just the smallest little cuts around the little plug, if not may not be an option on your car. good luck mate

how do you scroll through fm? since i have a bluetooth transmitter and i want to find an empty FM station but i cant seem to find and scroll to my liking i just have preset stations all the time.
@@onix3339 set the display on your dash as radio - then press the up and down buttons on your steering wheel and it will cycle through all channels it finds. Then press and hold a number and it’ll store.
Great content and information! My radio everything works but the display has no light so i can't see anything. It did work and then suddenly the display is blank but the radio and all button functions work? Maybe a fuse in the back of the radio for light? Thanks in advance...

Tried this, I couldn't access the sub. But I do have a weather broadcast service that lets me know what the weather is in my area.
thats awesome, the way I was able to make the car have some decent bass was select the surround or standard setting then go back and adjust up the bass, unless your car was optioned with a lower quality speaker setup, this c55 tho only has the base run of the mill stereo the old man that bought it originally bought it for that sweet v8 lol thanks for the watch my friend.

Did that aux jack come with your car? Or did you install it?
its a factory option, that was installed at the dealer hit the link to the install video, I explain the deal with it, its a kit you can buy for like 30-50 bucks and install in the factory harness. there is a blank plug on most if not all W203s 2005 and up especially if you have this exact head unit!

had the same issue, instead of buying and installing an expensive head unit with Bluetooth, just go ahead and buy an FM Transmitter, 20 bucks max..

yes most just have the pre wired option you install the kit , then can access it by holding the CDC CD changer button to switch the function over on the head unit, should say input active

this is how to install this as an option mine was not there to begin with there is a small cutout in the side of the glove box, on the outside edge by the door, its pre cut into the felt and material to be popped out originally to be installed by dealer, do a bit of digging im sure you will fine what I mean

i have 2006 model w203 and it didnt come with aux jack, its normal for somw mercedes to not have it, but its not that hard to install it
Kindly remove the floor door panel of the front passenger seat you will the find a connector there. You buy the extender then connect it and drop it in the glove compartment. Then you are good to go
Either I'm dumb or my 2005 c240 doesn't have the surround thing.... I click the button 3 times and it brings be back to bass
may not have the Harmon Kardon sound option, since mine is the c55 it had every option accept nav standard for the most part, it would have had to be ordered like that for a c240,c320,c230

So if I can help with the telephone thing... it's not Bluetooth. It's actually for the mercedes telephone system. According to the manual you go to the dealership and they set up a telephone for the car :)

old mb with old bt technolgy will not support audio it will support calls only. original mb bt is old tech. mine 2009 and still had original bt old tech. you can buy bt cost $13 $15 and connect to unit it will provide audio for music from phone and support music.
other tech now adays a bt connect to phone to provide audio and call connectivity with mic then broadcast FM to radio and listen as radio station. seen that and watting for one to arrive .easy cheap option.

Could be the master control chip on the inside, estimates I got were upwards of 10,000 to repair it

if you have the same style head unit it should be in there, you have to scroll one past the treble and bass settings and then it will automatically have one selected typically speech then simply adjust that setting the same as bass and treble then once it is selected you can then adjust the bass and treble for that setting speech will do nothing on bass adjustment
if not I would go aftermarket head unit,

How to set FM can u guide me
change the source to FM, to set a channel, tune the radio to the desired station, then press and hold the desired number on the radio you would like the station pre set to, it should beep arfer like 3-6 seconds letting you know its saved hope that helps
With the bluetooth unit, the head will recognise the iphone, but the iphone does not recognise the unit.

Not sure how to do the phone mode other than a transmitter, but if you have the aux just go buy a standard aux cable then go to probably the same isle just near iPhone stuff and get the little white adapter that's what my husband uses for his iPhone.

You can get a bluetooth transmitter on ebay for between £10/£15 uk pounds, it pairs to any phone and enables you to play music through the car speakers & also hands free phone.
Just dail in your phone number and call it
