If you remember people who didn't have the s8 or s8 plus said the same thing but people who had this phone said they don't see any problem with the location of it.
And don't u see samsung saparated the fingerprint sensor from the camera

This lady at CNET just doesn't like Samsung.... this is the best placement of the fingerprint, searious NO ISSUES. She has a bad attitude towards Samsung. I remember when the note 7 exploded, she was the happiest at CNET, she always prolonged her reviews on the explosion. Now she's saying, note 8 has a small battery and it won't explode, thts total B/s*t ... there phones with large batteries about 4000+ and they never xplode. She gotta know tht the note 7 explosion was something bigger than just the battery being large..
Musaasizi Joshua How is the fingerprint placement good? It's right beside the two cameras which makes it hard to recognize without looking at it, and you'll smudge the cameras. Also, a smaller battery will reduce the chance of an explosion, since the Note 7 battery was tightly packed.
Musaasizi Joshua I agree with you 100% on her being a haters. I said the same thing last year on cnet. She did at least 3 follow up videos on the exploding Note7 as if there were a high number of incidents. You can tell Apple was in their pockets. The Note is a far superior phone when it comes to multitasking. I should know since I've several iPhones including the iPhone 7 Plus that I use for personal. I'm getting the Note 8 for work this year. 😁

Put 256 GB & 6 GB RAM in the phone, Lower the Samsung Logo on the back and kill the Note 8 Brand on the back and turn the Dual Camera setup and the Fingerprint Censor Vertical instead of Horizontal and then you'll have a even better and better looking phone.

Nothing new besides the edge to edge screen & water resistant. Nothing at all in my opinion. If I didn't promised to give my current device which is a few months old to a friend, I wouldn't b upgrading this yr. Not too excited about the fingerprint scanner being on the rear of the device. I guess there isn't much innovation that can b done to a phone anymore. Yet.. they continue to release a new phone every yr despite the fact that there's not much that's different fr last yr's model

btmusicman I ain't lying. I still miss the Note 7. Traded it in for an iPhone 7 Plus since I had issues with the S7 Edge when typing.

I love the look of Samsung phones but there's just too much bullcrap on it. I want the simplicity of a Pixel with the design of a Note/S+.
Yes I am old School, but I am still using my Samsung Galaxy Note 4, came with A stylus pen and I love it, best phone ever!
The haters who keep saying that it's an S8 Plus with a Pen clearly aren't the target demographic for this phone. True Note users mourned the death of the Note7 even after having the option for the S7 Edge. They're different as night and day in use. Trust me.

Actually I don't remember last years exploding Note 7 and I had both versions of the Note 7. I do remember a FORCED recall with a 50% battery limit update.
I own both Galaxy s8+ and iphone 7 plus. Always had one Samsung and one Apple phone side by side. Apple is much better imo.
1. Cleaner and better OS
2. Better longevity
3. Better app integration
4. Brighter screens
"Remember last years exploding Galaxy note ?" Well Samsung hopes to wipe those away with this crazy ass price tag! Less battery a stylus and a bigger screen does not justify a nearly 1000 dollar phone. I love Samsung but I am not paying that for a phone any day.

The fingerprint reader placement really isn't as big a deal as TH-camrs make it out to be. On my s8+ I usually am able to hit it just while grabbing the phone out of my pocket.
Man I remember how excited I was when I got my Note 3. Now I got the new G6 and I still watch youtube on my Note. There is nothing new in Note 8 that makes me want to buy it. Bixby?! No thanks...
So disappointed . I had fate in the note 8 i had 5k $ for aleast 5, of this note 8 . But u let me down again Samsung :'(.

Don't hate on the iPhone. If there wasn't a gamechanger like the iPhone then samsung would'nt be what it is now and vice versa. I think Samsung and the IPhone need each other to grow and become better and better. I use both phones. But most of the time i use samsung.
the redesign of the back and fingerprint placement maybe hideous but the phone is not that bad overall great design overall.

Note 8 should have a multi window support for all apps, it should have a powerful photo editing app built in and then it would be a real productivity phone
