going to start the same job on a vauxhall astra j 1.6 mk6 2010 in the next couple of day's, but not going to drain the a/c system and hopefully will be okay, will let you know the outcome' and a BIG thanks for the video.
chris harvey how did it go? All I have left is the a/c compressor and oil pan but yeah. I don’t know if I want to since I haven’t drained the a/c system
Great Video as always, I do know you don’t have to remove the A/C compressor exhaust or the oil pan to replace the oils pump or water pump in a 2015 sonic 1.4 T.
As usual very informative and well guides video. But a main inf is missing when you put back the big seal if you use silicone or not... and how much torque pressure to close it... ammm
Nice, great and helpful videos you having brother, im from South Africa and im driving a 2012 chevy cruze 1.6 echo tech 16 valves, what seems to be the problem is i drive and every stop i get, i hear a knock in the engine but the oil lamp doesn't go on... Any help you can give??
Great video. One question. I've noticed that at one point(34 mins) you were going to remove the camshaft sprockets with T55. I assume to remove the rear timing belt cover. But later on the video the sprockets are intact and the rear cover is on. Does the rear cover need to go off for the oil pump assembly removal? Thanks.
Great video! Thank you! Can you share why this car needed an oil pump? The past 2 oil pressure problems I've had to repair were caused by the owners not caring about the oil level inside their engine.
Hi Mr. Do you have a video for a chevy captiva 2007 model 2.4lt engine where you are removing the oil pump? Or is the work the same as this video? Thanks
Is it possible (even if not recommended) to remove and replace that oil pump assembly without removing the sump? Because it looks like a lot of work to take so much from the front of the car and engine as _well_ as the timing infrastructure
The oil pump housing has dowels, so it won't let you slide the housing out without the oil pan removal. And to make things funner, the oil pan/sump on the 1.8L won't clear the frame without lifting the engine a few inches. I didn't have a cherry picker/engine hoist, but you can use a jack and a piece of wood to gently lift the engine a little bit on the corner of the engine block until the oil pan clears. The 1.6L oil pan seems to clear the frame rail, so I hear.
@@jibajaba5227 Thanks for that info, I'm doing a holden cruze and the oil pump doesnt wan to get out , so im guessing there is some kind of a restriction. Maybe dowels
Estaria bueno que pusiera el torque y el orden de apriete cuando coloca la bomba ya que unos lo ponen en espiral otro cruzados otros de adentro asia fuera.. cual seria el modo correcto? Saludos
I've got a similar engine (3 door 1.6l Astra H SRI 2011 - I think it's a sports hatch model). Oil in the coolant (not like mayonnaise, just brown oil). The timing belt is due for a change, the air-con won't provide cold air, my coolant is low, and previously I seem to have had oil spray all over the engine compartment (the dipstick was found sticking out approx 3 cm and the oil was well above the maximum mark). I wonder if the coolant was overfilled, over-pressurised, bust either oil pump or oil cooler gaskets and dumped itself into the sump until the pressure equalised with the oil and boiled blowing oil up the dipstick, and now the coolant is lower pressure than the oil so the oil's going into the coolant through the same fault? My front bumper needs to be refurbished also, I feel the suspension isn't as comfortable as it used to be and I'm getting excess road noise which could easily be from the drivers side due to the wheel arch cover, a missing lamp access flap in the drivers side, and excess vibration of unknown origin. Should I have the front main gasket (oil pump gasket I think?) and oil cooler replaced at the same time along with inspection and improvements to those other things (bushes and engine mount, etc) because it looks like there's a lot of work to be shared among them?
I have a car for which I put 5w30 oil, and when I traveled 154,000 km, I put 10w40 oil, but the problem is when I start the car in the morning, I hear crackling in the oil pump.
pls help me harsh or hard shift from 2nd to 3 rd gear but when i first start the engine and go its smooth but when it reaches the normal temperature it starts to shift hard
Hey man!! Great videos w the Cruze... Love the way you explain things, very easy to follow : )......... Do you have any videos regarding the pistons being removed... I was in the process of changing the head gaskets and saw that the piston number 1 & 4 was cracked on my project... can you help ? any videos ?
Its a long shot but i just recently replaced my head gasket in my 16 1.8l cruze, used exactly the same video for reference along with "Alldata" and after everything was put together, still on jack stands with one wheel off and dust covers still removed, i tried to start it and it cranks but does not wont to fulling start.
What is this, You could of gone into detail about the oil pump it’s self isn’t that what the description of this video says. This is bs. Should of just called it how to remove timing cover and explained the purpose of the timing cover gasket

Hi can this be the cause of oil going into the coolant .
Great video! Thank you!

It's a fuel injection with timing belt.
I'm from SA

what a big job
I like your videos but the opening introduction with the engine revving scares me every time when I forgot I left the volume up full.

How many miles on the car that oil pump had to be replaced?

I did the same thing and after 4 months it started to leak again
