  • Airbag Light on with code 00591 ? Step-by-step guide on how to replace / remove / install new driver seat belt buckle on Volkswagen New Beetle ( 1997 | 1998 | 1999 | 2000 | 2001 | 2002 | 2003 | 2004 | 2005 | 2006 | 2007 | 2008 | 2009 | 2010 | 2011 | GL | GLS | TURBO | TDI | LUXURY | SPORT | 2.5L ).
To fix the airbag light code 00591 most often you will have to replace driver side seatbelt buckle. It is a common problem. Before doing that make sure to inspect all wires and airbag connections below the driver seat.
To remove the seat buckle, you will first have to completely remove the seat. There are only two 13mm nuts holding the seat at the front and two torx screws in the back. Then seat slides just out. Once the seat has been removed, there is only one M8 screw holding the seatbelt buckle. Make sure to have the car battery disconnected while doing all this work.
    Thanks for watching.

Best you can do is call VW parts department with the serial number of your VW and ask a quote for the part and then ask part number as well. They have to give it to you
