Back in the day, a fully dressed 351 truck engine cost Ford $5000 to build. The engines of today cost $25,000 and they still use ULP or diesel at the same rate. But that 351 will give the owner 300,000 miles of use, and todays engines are designed to barely get to 100,000 miles.
The production line is wonderful, but the most spectacular thing is that all this happened through the human mind. How great the human being is!
