I took delivery of my car in Zuffenhausen 5 years ago. It was one of the nicest and most memorable days of my life. The day started with a reception and breakfast followed by a 2 hour factory tour. After the tour my car was “revealed” in a hall with 3 other cars, a Porsche employee spent close to an hour detailing every function of the car one on one with me. I had a picture taken with my wife in front of the car then we were driven in a, then new, version of the Cayenne to lunch on the top floor of an administration building with a view of the factory and museum. After lunch we visited the museum, picked up the car and drove home. After all this the thing that stood out the most was how relaxed people were in the factory. Ferry Porsche sincerely believed in the welfare of his employees and their families, they are paid well and have great benefits. It’s also highly prestigious to work at Porsche and you can see people working there have a lot of pride in their work. Fantastic product and company.
Having built Camaros and Firebirds back in the mid to late 80's watching these beautiful 911's make their way down the assembly line is intriguing to say the least. Robotics were in there. infancy in most of the depts. Some pushed off next to a wall and people were doing those jobs. The quality put into these cars throughout is outstanding. To anyone who has never been involved in Manufacturing a Car, well you never look at them the same way after you do. So, if you really want to invest in the one you've always wanted. Go watch them being built. You'll think differently about driving experience. In a good way. Thanks for posting this tour. CHEERS
Love the craftsmanship but you could not pay me enough to work there. Nobody is talking, the quiet would drive me nuts. Looks as warm and personal as a doctors office. Definitely but the place for me. Glad somebody can do it.
I do car manufacturing, and the one i work at is actually pretty loud. With all different types of music andons going off if line stops. Also most people don't talk much because you either can miss something, or you talk and don't realize you are over cycling your job, causing the line to stop.
Wonderful Video! Its great to See such Care in Fabricating the Interior pieces. And, it was interrsting Watching the process of Building Engines. My only gripe, was that there wasn't any Casting and Machining of Engine parts.
Take a close look at the technologies involved in building a vehicle. There's as much ancillary engineering as there is for engine construction and optimization. When I say ancillary engineering, I mean, for example, bodywork handling, robot programming, The construction and development of specific tools for the robots, specific tools to maintain the bodywork during robotic operations ,the complex systems that have to be developed and implemented in terms of safety. The race to save money has definitely led us to do just about anything
Yup. Definitely 981s (like mine😁) in the body shop and in the leather shop. The 981 dash has the Sports Chronograph Clock lower down the dash than the 982.
I know regulation is big on emissions. But just imagine the emissions from the production of all these parts, electronics, braking systems, iron and aluminum plants that goes into the manufacture of new cars. Likely pales in comparison, but hey the consumer is tobe blamed for co2 emissions and quaterly profits is king.
Absolutely mesmerizing watching the robots perform their work. I greatly appreciate hearing the sounds of the machinery, but at the same time I could imagine a cut of this footage as a music video like Björk's All Is Full of Love video.
I hope those fortunate enough to afford a Porsche appreciate the tiresome and detailed work the craftsmen & women put into making these beautiful machines.
I thought the state-of-the-art car manufacturing factory was fully automated by robot arms. But it seems too complicated to achieve. What an amazing industrial work.
In the city of Jakarta, on the inner city toll road, 🚗 recently had this type of Porche car accident, namely a rear-end collision with a large truck, which I was surprised by, the driver did not survive, but his partner did.
I am an old guy I look at the construction especially the front and I can only think how backward the total front and could be one gigantic casting advance otherwise go broke people
Many of these human jobs will be replaced by robots in the next 10 years. That is a guarantee! I follow that technology closely and it's obvious. I have no idea what my kids should do in the future. At some point, with A.I. They'll be able to teach themselves. Once one knows a job, they'll all know that job, they could work in the dark, 24/7, amazing cost savings. Scary!
Not icons, but replicas. The 930 is the icon, what they make today are overweight monsters with lots of power - gone is the elegant simplicity of the icon.

😢 Just imagine if this kind of time money and effort was put forth in feeding the hungry in Germany. And the price of a new Porsche is so far to reach for most all people that it makes no sense to keep making these cars. Why not just find all the Porsches that are used, in junk yards and refurbish them for people that would like to buy them instead? A waste of money & labor.
All white, no one has purple-green hair? Not enough inclusivity! I don't see any engineers or professors from Senegal or the Middle East either. This factory is strange! The quality of the products manufactured certainly suffers.
The way the robot with the caulking gun went around the support was brilliant.

Kudos to the software engineer that had to program the machines so they know where to go and spot weld

Best six cylinder engine on earth 🌎
Correct about the six.
Even both variations of the two liter are simply exceptional
15:35 Dla tej Pani 100/100 punktów za piękną pracę ! 😀👍
11:35 ta blondyna jest ładniejsza!
The most well payed employs in the world.
Why do video’s like this often cut from body in white to trim, the painting process is just as interesting, for me at least.
Probably proprietary processes that they don’t want filmed.
@@steveg2277they dont want you knowing where the transmission drain plug is on these lol
cuz this video named assembly plant not coating 😂
Paint these days is generally robotic- the control and consistency cannot be matched.
Porsches are dipped into a tub of paint 🙃
Seeing the factory of the Porsche 911 I'm going to buy in three years' time makes me smile - the artistic assembly and lines are amazing. Thumbs up.
That blond seamstress is longing for the day she meets a rich Porsche owner.
As soon as I get the dough I'll buy one of these autos .
So much engineering. Insane.
Love the craftsmanship but you could not pay me enough to work there. Nobody is talking, the quiet would drive me nuts. Looks as warm and personal as a doctors office. Definitely but the place for me. Glad somebody can do it.
I think they’re being quiet for the sake of the video.

When you've dealt with customers for the last 30 years. Thos would be an ideal place for me to work. Sign me up!

There is nothing quite like the sound of a Porsche six-cylinder engine. Pure music.
Yes Yes Extraordinary 💯👍
A 911 and that beautiful 11:20 girl = you win the game!

11:20 - men of culture, we met again!
I love you teknologi🙏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lindo demais essa linha de produção. Seria um sonho visitar!!!!
I was long into the video when it occurred to me that I had not seen any worker of color. Hmmm...
May be they dont like porsches?
So sleek, it's breathtaking.
Porsche started emphasizing volume over quality in the 1990s.
old movies you keep recycling--991.2 assembly--how many years ago??
…..since you sire were in diapers…..
Looks like these are 991s. Video has to be at least 5 years old

Absolutely mesmerizing watching the robots perform their work. I greatly appreciate hearing the sounds of the machinery, but at the same time I could imagine a cut of this footage as a music video like Björk's All Is Full of Love video.
World Class.
Is aluminium?
I hope those fortunate enough to afford a Porsche appreciate the tiresome and detailed work the craftsmen & women put into making these beautiful machines.
Very interesting engineering system. I like it to be in PEARL OF AFRICA UGANDA on Ground zero Zenith point ❤❤❤
Wow!..🔥🔥💯
No future to German automobile manufacturers praying the age of electric cars not coming 😂
And what is so funny about that? Do you know how many people work in germans automotive industry?
I thought the state-of-the-art car manufacturing factory was fully automated by robot arms. But it seems too complicated to achieve. What an amazing industrial work.
How workers deal with the noise levels all day?😮
nice job!
Not hand made for sure more like robot made. You think they would cost less with robots putting them together.
@16:14 how the pistons are fitted ❤
All that work so a trophy wife can drive it to yoga.
Realy I like this factory
1000 cars a day!!!! 2023 deliveries 320,221😮😮😮😮
Beautiful 11:35😅

This is quite an old video most of these are 991's !

This is not a production process. But an assembly process like all other videos on Yt
why the white body so shiny? apply any pretreatment? or the raw material is aluminum alloy?

Jeff Richardson says the 981 and 991 are the same car. This video shows clearly they are not! 911’s are a totally different build quality than 718’s!
I am an old guy I look at the construction especially the front and I can only think how backward the total front and could be one gigantic casting advance otherwise go broke people

Giga casting would reduce production cost.

So that’s why so expensive 😂
It's all about the quality!
So much time and handwork into these cars and then you see them crashed beyond repair or completely burned down.. What a waste, but, that's business.

It takes a special kind of mental abnormality to find the 911 attractive...give me a Ferrari or Lambo every time!
i always thought the 911 are made from carbon fiber

Workers are craftspeople, smartly dressed in uniforms performing precision tasks. Compare them to the dullards in a North American auto plant.

Don’t worry. USA will catch up. We have 5 million more Venezuela migrants. Those are our future doctors and engineers I was told by Democrats
