This was an amazing, but emotional film. Remember this, love will never fade away, but , liking something or someone's attributes will. Don't confuse true love with really liking someone.
I agree with you but when someone change the way they use to be and hurts you... keep loving that person can only messed you up :( Great reaction as always. RIP Robie Williams, amazing in every movie 💙
It was an amazing movie! There will never be another Robin Williams, unfortunately. There are two very good comedies I Recomended: “Blades of Glory” “ “Bruce Almighty.” I hope you review them.
The studio originally wanted the parents to get back together at the end of the movie. both Robin Williams & Sally Field pushed back saying it would give false hope to actual kids of divorced parents. They stood their ground & the movie is much better for it.
As a kid who got divorced parents I love that they did that, when I was little I wanted them to come back together but when I watched this movie I got some comfort that it was going to be okay even if they didnt go back
Yes, when I was little I hated that they didn't get back together. But as an adult, I am glad they made that decision. It was a lesson in life for baby me that a family can still love each other and be cordial even after a divorce, and that sometimes things just don't work out but neither of them are bad people necessarily. Sometimes you just fall out of love, it sucks but that's life and that's okay
@@walkerlocker6126 Lol some divorces aren't cordial at all and families and kids get destroyed by them. But good on you for thinking a fictional movie was a real life lesson for someone who hasn't experienced it lol.
She was never IN LOVE with the other man, she just grew out of love with daniel. People grow and change in relationships all the time, and sometimes your partner doesnt grow in the same direction.
@@cajunking5987 we have no idea how much time passed when they went for a date, Child custody & divorce takes months if someone is contesting it. He just happens to be the first guy she had any interest in after the divorce, no where in the movie did they imply she had a secret flame for him all her life.
The problem between the two parents isn't that she was missing out the problem is that he's trying to be the friend instead of the parent. You can party but not throw everything in Chaos. Everything you need to know is when he goes "I was planning to have it all cleaned up before you got home so you'd never know". It's because he consistently does all this behind her back to be their friend. You can't have two adults and only 1 be a parent.
Yes! So many people miss that. It's not like this happened once, and she wanted a divorce. It's been a long time coming, of him being another kid, except this one is basically teaching the others that their mom is the enemy and their dad the victim. Not saying she's blameless either, but it is on both of them. The party though was the last straw. She had specifically said no party, and he went an undermined her authority. That is not okay!
She's working to pay bills - to make sure everyone's taken care of. He is an actor, who has apparently not been keeping steady work, or bringing in steady income. He maybe a loving father, but he's not steady or reliable, & it's revealed later in the movie that he never likes to talk about anything serious. So there's no intimate communication & understanding. She feels alone, & has apparently felt that way for some time. I'm not blaming anyone. But they apparently are for all intents & purposes mismatched.
And brosnan, robin said that brosnan never once cracked up when he tried to make him laugh, that's a level of professionalism beyond god tier to stay composed while robin Williams does everything to make you laugh
Something I love about this movie is that it would be so easy to make the mom the villain. Make it so that she’s unreasonable, or even that she was overreacting. But they don’t. By the end of the movie we get it. We get that some people just grow apart, become incompatible due to different wants or their lives go in different trajectories. I love that scene where Miranda gets to talk about how she felt during the marriage. It’s so good. Does she do some crappy things, yeah. But so does he. There’s a lot of bad mouthing of the other parent because there’s a lot of hurt feelings, especially because they did love each other once upon a time and in some ways still do. And the new boyfriend is actually a decent guy too! He likes Miranda, he likes the kids! Yeah he calls Daniel a loser but he’s probably just been listening to Miranda vent and drawn conclusions. Any other movie he would have been this one dimensional prick. As a child of divorce myself this movie hits hard and it’s one of my favorites.
Her villainous part in the movie was not that she didn’t love Daniel anymore, but that she tried to take away his visitation. Even if he isn’t perfect, it was unfair to the CHILDREN for them to not have a relationship with their father who truly loves them and isn’t a drug addict or abuser. She was a villain to her kids for that imo. She came around though.
As a kid, when I watched this I always thought to myself that maybe they would be happier if Miranda didn't have to pick up as much slack. Living in SF with 3 kids is incredibly expensive, so sizing down would've made things easier. But as I grew older and watched this as an adult, I realized it isn't really about only the stress, it's also obviously the relationship and how inconsistent they are as partners. Dad is having fun making plans and doing everything to make the kids happy, and mom is trying to maintain stability and bring her kids up in a strict, but fair household so they learn responsibility and boundaries. I think everyone wanted them to end up together, but the ending to the film really made me so happy as a young kid and even now at 24, I love seeing people co-parenting happily and healthily.
Not sure why you thought Miranda was in love with Stu right from the start. They established that she hadn't seen him in ages and it had nothing to do with why she wanted to divorce Daniel. She literally explains why she loved him and why she stopped loving him. It's interesting that when she was explaining her reasons you weirdly kept saying she was lying and thinking about another man. It's also weird that you called Miranda selfish for putting herself before the children and that she had some sort of vendetta against Daniel and was punishing the kids because of that. WTAF. She didn't do that at all. The judge awarded her custody and set the standards Daniel had to meet for joint custody. Divorce like this is when two totally enmeshed people have to disentangle their lives in every way. It's not unusual at all that someone wouldn't want their ex-partner around too much during that process, especially when he has never shown any capability to act as a housekeeper previously. By the end when the judge continues the sole custody arrangement, it's because he took into account Daniel's deceptive, admittedly extreme and at that time disturbing (because men dressing like a woman in the 90s was largely still considered disturbing) actions. Sure this movie is funny and is about a loving dad trying to be with his kids, but he also did some really unethical things to reinsert himself into their lives. He could have also just waited the 90 days, concentrated on getting his shit together, and achieved the joint custody after that. He's not faultless in this just because he loves his kids. He also utterly deceived Miranda in an incredibly intimate way, gaining her trust and being let in to her confidence like that. I'm really baffled at how the hell you came away from this movie with such a weird view of what was going on.
It's the Robin Williams Effect. This isn't the first Robin Williams movie where he plays a character whose actions would be irresponsible at best and despicable at worst, but we forgive him because he's just so charming and funny. Williams himself was a great guy, but some of the characters he played probably taught people to accept "charming" abusers into their lives.
@@Debbie76 And he's right to have a problem and an issue with the mother/ex wife in most of the movies he reacts too. Miranda's just a thot nothing more, nothing less.
I really enjoyed this reaction and knew you would love this movie. and while I agree with most of your assessments on why their marriage didn't work (they didn't communicate), I have to disagree with you that Miranda didn't love Daniel at first. I believe she did and then she fell out of love with him. it happens. also, there is zero indication that she left Daniel for Stu, in fact it was made very clear that she hadn't spoken to Stu in years. not sure why you didn't believe her when she said she loved Daniel in the beginning; we should believe people when they tell us how they feel. beyond that, I'm glad you enjoyed this and as a child of divorce, this movie was always so important for me. it was so great to have the reassurance that the divorce is never the child's fault and that there can still be love for the kids, even if the parents are not together ❤️

Dustin plays a temperamental actor who burned all his bridges in the entertainment industry, therefore he can't get a job. So he dresses up as a woman and tries out for a part in a daytime soap opera. It's well worth watching!

I like this movie. There really isn't a bad guy. Just adults doing some things right, and also making mistakes with other things, and making choices that their kids have to live through.
Wow I was also unsure about my feelings towards someone and what you said about having feelings and loving someone is different really hit at the right moment. Great movie reaction as always but also great advice thank you for that!
Miranda (Sally Field) was upset for several reasons as she has been the responsible, steady breadwinner in the family and Daniel (Robin) has been the good time Dad. Yes, he adores his kids but so does Miranda.
Classic film. The most emotional film of Robin Williams is Bicentennial Man. Never fails to make me cry. The last Night At The Museum 3 also makes me teary eyed. Miss Robin Williams so much.
I loved this movie as a kid, and now being a new mom to a 9 year old and 6 year old I love it even more. I never wanted children but God knew they needed a better home and we found each other, and you do give everything, I thought I was far too selfish to ever be a mom but I've sacrificed everything for them. You just do it when you love them and take your roll seriously.

It’s so funny bc when I would watch this as a kid, I was always on Daniel’s side in the beginning (fun Dad, what’s her problem?) but NOW as a 31 yr old woman…. I totally get it. It wasn’t about the party, the party was the the straw that broke the camel’s back. Their relationship had been so strained up until then and the lack of support she would feel to then come home to a mess that she would have to clean and she’s right, she’d look like the bad guy. Definitely a change of perspectives as I got older. My Dad showed me this movie when I was super young so I’ve seen it through different lenses over the years! RIP to a legend
that one of my favorite movie and i really love the message. you should watch the deleted scene of this movie like the one with robin williams and lisa jakub (lidia) that talk with him about why they can just pretend to be a family. That scene make me cry so much
4:04 that’s Mara Wilson, the actress who does play Matilda, and Lily Stone in 2000 film Thomas and the Magic Railroad. After Thomas and the Magic Railroad was released, Mara decided to take a 12-year break from acting to focus on writing.
17:02 no she wasn't in love, she loved her husband but love isn't forever when things happen so she just didn't feel anything like that anymore towards him, she had a "little spark" of something cute there.
Did you know we were going to get a sequel to this in 2014/2016 with actress Bonnie Hunt(who also directed Return To Me and co starred with Robin Williams in Jumanji) going to direct it and it followed Robin Williams donning the disguise once again to keep am eye on his daughter Nataile going to college. But the sequel got scrapped since Robin Williams passed away in August 2014. Man I miss Robin Williams so much. 😢😂❤
You could see in Stu's face during the restaurant episode he was ready to nope out lol his face said it all "what am I about to get myself into?" But on a serious note Daniel needed to grow up some he was a loving father but his biggest flaw was lack of maturity when needed and they both needed to work on their communication skills this movie hits me in a different way now I grew up and came from a broken family and not all that long ago my own family was in danger of being broken apart but God bless we are working through it and inna much better place today because we are communicating a lot better and we are taking time to grow spiritually too and that does more than a lot of people will ever realize. I hope everyone is doing good it's a tough world and life isn't easy but there is a better tomorrow God bless
7:10 This video point. I agree with you Aussie. The party was legit minus the animals thing the cop mentioned. Also I started tearing up. Sadness effects me more now a days between my transition and Dad passing away on March 27th 2023 sweetie.
Same about Matilda. I specifically remember seeing it in theatres and for the life of me I can’t remember hardly anything…I remember something about chocolate cake, the principle dressed like a power lifter and something about magic…I think 🤣🤣
Ha! Same here, man. My wife and I have little in common but we love each other have a mutual understanding of each other that works like the cliché, the Ying and yang. Great reaction
This film will always affect me differently, unfortunately my parents were divorced when I was maybe 2yrs and I never really completely knew my father who I was told changed into a good peaceful person. I'll never be able to understand who he truly was as he's passed away and before I was out of high-school. (I'm only 23 as of now) To make this movie even more difficult for me to watch, I woke up on my birthday to find out Robin Williams himself has passed away. My father and this film always has a place in my heart as well as Robin Williams. I'm grateful to see your reaction to this. Thank you ❤ ❤
See Miranda did love him. it's just that she chose to pay more attention on her carrier then family. which meant Daniel had to make up that family time, they had love in the beginning. but when you start putting work first and forcing family out and your marriage. it will take its toll
Watched this movie so many times with my mom growing up. Robin Williams always made us laugh no matter how many times we watched his movies over and over. My parents were never married, but they were together for 16 years and split when I was 15. I was in middle school at the time, and it was certainly hard. I knew that my dad still loved my mom until he passed away 3 years ago. Marrying my husband, Michael. I knew he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. This September will be together for 10 years and married for 6, our daughter Karin is 4. It's certainly hasn't been easy, but we have faced everything together.
Like is stronger than love. If you fall out of "like", you're only left with someone you protect and show concern for but you don't laugh, play, joke and have fun with them when you loved AND liked them. Team LIKE all day baby!
One of my childhood favorites! When I was little I wanted Robin Williams to be my second dad lol. Also just wanted to say you have a great face and voice for movie reactions. Something about you is very calm and soothing :)
Don't say mad stuff when you know better, because people are going to put a lot of faith in what you say, and that's going to influence what they think and do. Miranda loved Daniel, loved him enough to marry him and never stopped caring about him, but Miranda entered into a different phase of her life and she changed. She and Daniel weren't as compatible for each other is when they started out, and they ended up not being on the same page anymore. They couldn't have come to at least mildly friendly terms if they didn't still have a substantial amount of care for each other. Also, sometimes you just want to try to carry on with something like this, believing with all your heart that it can work, even when it can't, because it means that much to you. I suppose Miranda was fighting with all her heart to make things work, and she just couldn't carry on anymore.
People that you are in relationships with change. You have to change and grow with them. She was carrying the finances and he went from job to job. Ok when single and free ....not ok when you make 3 children. When one person carries the other person for a long time .....their arms grow tired. You need to have someone who can carry you too on days that you aren't feeling strong.
Another great Robin Williams movie is, The Fisher King. It's seriously underappreciated and I continue to plug it, but have yet to find reactors interested. I think the subject matter is right in your lane: relationships, mental health, social responsibility, love, brotherly love, hatred and disregard, following your passions and having faith. Beautiful movie. Terry Gilliam directs, Jeff Bridges also stars. Mercedes Ruhl won an Oscar. Tom Waits has an amazing cameo.
The movie he did too is " Hook" it's great too based in Peter Pan. Please that reaction Mrs Doubtfire and Hook are my 2 favorite movies with Mr Williams.🙂❤️🙏
Alice Through the Looking Glass (Charles Jung) The bartender in the "drive by fruity" scene is played by Robin William's brother. This movie is heavy on theme of the breaking of the nuclear family, but its humor, and light-heartedness is a great balance. An all around good family movie.
I would definitely recommend Hook (1991), Jumanji (1995), Jack (1996) and RV (2006). There's a ton of others, the award winners and such, that I am sure will be suggested but these are my favorites along with this one. ❤️
If there weren’t any animals the worst that would have happened was a complaint to the police about the noise level. I can understand why it got to that point in the situation.

Miranda (Sally Field) was upset for several reasons as she has been the responsible, steady breadwinner in the family and Daniel (Robin) has been the good time Dad. Yes, he adores his kids but so does Miranda.
You have to imply that this is not the 1st time. It's more than one incident and issue.
Classic film. The most emotional film of Robin Williams is Bicentennial Man. Never fails to make me cry. The last Night At The Museum 3 also makes me teary eyed. Miss Robin Williams so much.
Now thats what I call a father.2022 From the Dominican Republic.I still cry this film.

I loved this movie as a kid, and now being a new mom to a 9 year old and 6 year old I love it even more. I never wanted children but God knew they needed a better home and we found each other, and you do give everything, I thought I was far too selfish to ever be a mom but I've sacrificed everything for them. You just do it when you love them and take your roll seriously.
one of my absolute favourite films! happy to see you enjoyed it so much
Yes he was James Bond
(MRS. DOUBTFIRE) 1993
Robin Williams
Sally Field
Pierse Brosnan
Harvey Fierstein
Box office: 441.1 Million
What an iconic legendary classic movie, brings back childhood memories.
RIP to a legend
i love this movie and as always it was a great acting by robin williams. thank you so much for the amazing reaction!!!!
that one of my favorite movie and i really love the message. you should watch the deleted scene of this movie like the one with robin williams and lisa jakub (lidia) that talk with him about why they can just pretend to be a family. That scene make me cry so much
Hello from Australia! Love this movie, honesty, I would watch this movie, rewind (yes, I’m that old haha) and watch again.
Another great movie with Robin Williams is "Dead poets society " 😊
Another emotional rollercoaster of a movie with Robin Williams that you should watch is August Rush. ❤
Awesome reaction! Just wow. Such a good objective family loving young man. The passion in your morality just blows my mind away.
7:10 This video point. I agree with you Aussie. The party was legit minus the animals thing the cop mentioned. Also I started tearing up. Sadness effects me more now a days between my transition and Dad passing away on March 27th 2023 sweetie.
"We love each other...
Don't we?"
Knife in the heart hearing that.
I miss Robin WIlliams he was truly a great and gifted actor and man; I feel regret for not apricating his time here on this planet.
Oh I felt you....same here🤧🤧🤧Its 2022 & I still cry it.
I Just love that movie... I watched still child.. cry so hard! Great actor. R.i.p.
Great reaction also Dillon. I cried with U.
Legendary Man playing in a legendary movie 🎥!!! You gotta check out more if his films!!!
You really need to see The Fisher King with Robin and Jeff Bridges. Most touching story you could imagine
Similar in quality and theme is "Tootsie" staring Dustin Hoffman. Consider reacting!
Robin Williams was and always will be a legend. ❤
you should definitely watch good morning vietnam and popeye. both great movies to react to
LOVE this movie! THANK YOU!
Good morning Vietnam
Robin Williams is an amazing actor one of his best movies👍
Oh my by that reaction your probably just one of those people who tells their family what to do . And that’s what you call taking
At least the bus driver goes for women his own age.
"Any other choice words you want to teach our 5 year old?"
Me: *in Daniel's shoes* Don't tempt me got a whole dictionary
The movie he did too is " Hook" it's great too based in Peter Pan. Please that reaction Mrs Doubtfire and Hook are my 2 favorite movies with Mr Williams.🙂❤️🙏
Alice Through the Looking Glass (Charles Jung)
The bartender in the "drive by fruity" scene is played by Robin William's brother.
The movie won best makeup back in 1994 at the Oscars.
Great reaction! Now that I've seen your connection I suggest Kramer vs Kramer.
19:31"D.W.F seeks WWM with a BMW and into light B and D"
Translation: Divorced White Female seeks Wealthy White Male with a BMW into light Bondage and Discipline
Love this movie and Robin Williams. If you haven't seen Dead Poet's Society it's my favorite of his.
49:49 he’s allergic to spicy 🥵 on the 🍤.
Great reaction of one of my favourite movies
47:25 ....."Bottom line, don't patronize kids.... Make it fun and entertaining. If it's something yo'd enjoy, they'd enjoy it"...... Can somebody tell that to fu**ing Disney, please? Seems that they didn't get the memo.....
To what are you referring? Disney's too large on the whole to express such a sentiment to the company's work in its entirety.
14:58 it keeps cutting because the woman in this scene kept breaking character because she was laughing so hard.
58:10 Crowning Moment of Heartwarming, there.
You do know that if she was the one without an income, she would still get the kids and he would get Saturdays. NO that is "fair"! And before he was Bond, he was Remington Steel!
I don't know if you've ever seen Patch Adams with Robin Williams it's really good I saw this movie for the first time last night
Would so enjoy your reaction to him in Patch Adams and also, Awakenings
At 38:02 your laughter sounds exactly like Courage the cowardly dog's❤️😂
another great movie with robin williams is "jack". one of my favs along with mrs.doubtfire of course
whenever i miss mom i watch Mrs Doubtfire
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Excellent film! And if you liked the little girl's acting, you should definitely check out Matilda if you haven't already! It's another very beloved classic movie, at least for me!
