      Amazing how many videos stop at the easy part -- how to get the screen out. My windows were trickier as the windowsill is deep as it is a basement window. But your tips helped. Thanks from Canada!

    I'm actually embarrassed to admit this but I've been trying to figure out how to remove my screens since I bought the house in 2009! I did remove some once using a screw driver..... After watching you do this, I said to my daughter it can't be that easy - and it took me literally two seconds! Thankyou so much for your invaluable help. When I need to replace the screens I'll look you up again.

    Apart from the technique you showed for the flywire screen, I found your info about removing the glass window helpful. I have sliding glass windows with flysire screens on the outside, similar to your video. When i first tried to remove the flywire screens to wash both the screens and the windows, i was tryinv to do it from the outside + failing miserably. Being in an Over 55's Village, where most homes "appear" to be rather similar, I asked a few neighbours only to discover that out of 4 of us, we each had different style windows + their screens were all inside ones. Lol. So I walked along my street until i found a home that seemed to have screens outside + sliding windows, knocked to ask how they remove their screens. Thats when i found out i had to remove the window first. Back home to try. Gosh, the windows were very heavy especially for a woman doing it by herself, with medical disabilities, but i was determined. It took me ages to remove one window, one screen and then wash, dry and putting one window and one screen back in, was not easy. In the end, i only had ten windows and screens to remove and it took me three days to do it all including washing inside outside of windows 😂. I ended up with my bedroom window - both the screen and the glass window pane off for an entire night as i struggle to gwt it back in. Summer in Australia with the InFamous Aussie Salute for flies n mozzies, was in full force. I ended up getting a neighbouring man come the next day to help me.
    If i had seen your video beforehand, i know I would have found it easier, even though it would still have been heavy hard work for me. Its time to attack them again in a few months. I am enlisting the help of a girlfriends husband to help this year so i will show his your video to watch the day before he comes. I know he will appreciate it. He prefers visual cues like i do. So thanks 🇦🇺

    Huh, you made look easy, mine corners broke after taking it out, been told they put plastic corners now, which break easier, off to Bunnings I go, changed the corners to aluminium ones, much more sturdier than before, but it was tricky to put back.....next time going to try it your way.

      @@InspireDIY So I used your vid to take my home office window out, followed by the fly screen, and gave it all a really good clean. We've lived here 12 years and I've never taken the fly screens out, so you can imagine how filthy the tracks were, and the bottom of the screen. So gross, but satisfying to clean and put everything back together again

    I live high up in an apartment building and it;s making it tricky to get the screen back in the tracks without it blowing away! Fortunately I hold on to the tabs at the bottom while I place it in the top but then I have no 'space' to get it in at the bottom. Should I start with the tabs at the top while I ease it into the bottom?

    Yes but how do you do that when you have a kitchen bench and tap below and blinds at the top? I have done all my windows except the kitchen one and I’m getting very frustrated. Because the bottom part of the screen can’t drop that low to place it in the grove at the top.

    • @InspireDIY
      @InspireDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow that's a tricky one Orion, if I understand you right it seems like it wants to stay in there🤷‍♂️. Can you clean/repair/replace screen mesh (whatever you are wanting to do) while it's still in the window frame?

    i have flyscreen with pulling tab on the right side attached to the aluminium sliding window on the top level of house. i took out but cannot put it back by installting it from outside the window.

    • @InspireDIY
      @InspireDIY  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey ashararain, I'm not sure about that one, if you managed to get it out then in theory it should be able to go back in. if you still have the screen oriented correctly - as in you haven't accidentally rotated it, try inserting the fly screen frame into the aluminium recieving frame top first, then try the sides, then bottom receiver and see if you have any luck.
      P.S. most will only install and remove from the inside. best of luck, Kent
