The aperture on a minnow trap is too small to catch good-sized crawdads. Use a trap designed for crayfish. The only difference is the size of the opening.
Best thing to do is get a small inner compartment put in there where the bait isn't coming in contact with the outer edge. They will be more driven to find the access holes. If you had 8 in the trap you likely had twice that many outside the trap wherever the bait was up against the edge of the trap. I'd use dead fish, raw chicken or dog food instead of bread.
Make sure you check with your local fishing regulations about trapping and and means of and info needed to do so. It is illegal to do this without a fishing license and not tagging it. The best bait to use is fresh caught shad and hook them through the eye with a thin wire and tie it to top of the trap so that it is hanging. Trust me.
The video is literally tilted “how to catch crawfish” But….depending where you live it could be CALLED many different names. Mud bug, cray fish, craw dads…

I only saw about 4 deff not no 8. And if u counted how is it about 8 is there a half one in there or something. Lol. Show us how to go to them.
Try using dog food or meat even a dead fish

I got a lot of crayfish in one of my videos
They get trapped due to the cone shape, it easy to squeeze through but very hard go out the opposite way

They are very crafty creatures. They will crawl in through the holes on each end of the trap.
