    As he said, usually the 15th place in an NBA roster is not gonna contribute much, so who do you want as 15th ? A random useless player or a very expensive psychologist for your star player you literally spend hundreds of millions into ? And SOMETIMES, he can play decent ball.

      Honestly, for anyone whose actually watched boban, he does do the best he can moving with that frame. He cant run fast or move laterally, but hes literally a walking bucket inside, and diverts/blocks shots regularly. Theres tons of highlights of players challenging him and failing miserably, as well as a very simple hook shot he makes incredibly easy and unblockable. Boban also has utility on special plays, like a 1 time final possession on defense, that make him slightly valuable. That being said he simply cant play a normal amount of minutes due to fatigue as well as liability on defense.

    There is no reason why a G League player should be making 40k a year only. The MLB has a very similar issue with their minor league program. But the MLB has 3 leagues and 100s of prospects, the NBA only has like 15-20 guys on a G League team. Raising that to 70k a year would cost 450k total each year. That is half of a league minimum deal btw. Every team could pay their G League player 100k a year, provide a team facility for training and meals, and many other things for the price of Hunter Tyson a year. Most people reading this have no idea who I just said even is.

    • @dbeast03
      @dbeast03 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

      Really the solution is probably somewhere in between 6 figure contracts and no money at all (aka you're screwed if you don't make the cut). But the catch is that money should come second. If the G-league doesn't make enough on it's own to justify paying the players much past a living wage, the benefits *SHOULD* be there to guarantee that these guys who are a step or two down from the NBA level can't have their lives ruined by injury, that's what I'd argue is the key. If you tell a dude "look we can't pay you a crazy amount but we can guarantee you play the game you love, guarantee your doctor visits are covered, and guarantee we've got people dedicated to keeping you healthy" they may not be happy about not making the NBA but they will be a ton happier down the road than if you just gave 'em a shit contract MLB minors style and told 'em to piss off when they got hurt.
      In other words, keep these guys healthy and make sure their lives outside of basketball aren't destroyed by an injury and most of them will be more than happy to make a mediocre living off of a game they love, even if it means the NBA is out of reach.

    Knicks fans deserve reparations for how badly that franchise has been run.
    The NBA has been criminally negligent for not taking over the day to day operations of the Knicks.
    The worst run team in the history of professional sports.

    Sick of the slander on Thanasis who is always a professional, always works hard. All of his teammates have nothing but great things to say about him.
    Giannis rookie year, he averaged 6.8 pts. He didnt have any pull in the league. The next year thanasis was drafted on his own merit by the knicks.
    Having giannis on the bucks and explode into a superstar for sure gave him a leg up in getting a roster spot for the bucks. But hes not as bad as people say, especially for an end of the bench guy. He averages 10.5/5.9/2.5 on nearly 50% shooting in games where he plays at least 20 min... His career high is 27. There are a ton of end of the bench guys who could not match his production.

    I don't think this is really the right way to think about this. Its like buying a 250k lambo and not wanting to buy a car cover to protect it for 500 dollars. Having a family member around your star player is 100% better than having his crew get him in trouble. You are investing in your number 1 asset's success. True nepotism would be if a coaches son got on. Or that 5 million dollar contract Luke walton got and then the coaching job.

    • @burrybondz225

    • @casherj1
      @casherj1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@burrybondz225 So you think that having NBA entorages around are better for the player than having a family member? Im guessing it would be better for the star player. Not many stars have solid cores around them to protect them and uplift them like say Lebron did. Who also did the same in adding players like Dameon Jones who was obviously hot garbage.

    Its not nepotism if they dont play him like he is better than 14 other players on his team and they dont. Someone who isnt gonna play has to have that spot. Makes sense to me. And the use of the terms in video dont even match up like industry plant.

    It is what it is, ya know? Giannis is a star and he protects his family. If he was a nobody then sure nepotism, but Giannis is so good he can have this.
    I got nothing but respect for that. Family means more to me than anything.
