YUP! GREAT ALBUM... PERIOD....dlr was a Vocal locomotive on this& skyscraper! Great job youngn. .. just don't ever fall to far & let any of.... 'extras' take you down. Go straight up... be your own. You know you can play it...all.... look forward to hearing more original tunes. Peace!
I hear ya! Not to ruin the comment (42 likes at this point), but this is Steve on guitar, not Ed. I know you mean the channel, not this song specifically. But for others reading this, I'm just pointing that out. 🙂
Dude, it's hard to impress me, having been there when this song came out & watch it flourish throughout the world. But you freaking owned it. I give it a fist bump (automatic 5 stars) for sure. Thanks for posting.
This trio band is fucking awesome! You guys really do an excellent job. You have the ability to play anyones style, play awesome original music! Great album too that you just released.
I bought the cassette (yes, I'm old) the day it came out. Listened to it all the time then the Grunge bands come along. I forgot how good this album was.
Wow! What an awesome cover of this song. I just discovered Deraps for the first time today and down the rabbit hole I go! Jacob and co your music truly brings me back to the 80's when I grew up working and managing in actual record and music stores where I was constantly immersed in the music of the day, going to tons of concerts and live shows, plus also getting to meet and hang out with quite a few incredible and famous musicians and artists. It was truly a magical time and thank you so much for helping to bring the magic of that era back. Your band truly rocks and I hope that you guys do a North American tour sometime in the near future and I get to catch your show. Cheers and thank you again! From an instant fan in St Helens OR.
I saw this concert in 1986 Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. Cinderella opened for them. The best concert I’ve ever seen. Oh, I still have my concert program and ticket stub, I’m 49 now.
Ishbu101 I do feel old now but still love that album, I saw Roth in 1988 at the same place too for his Skyscraper tour and Poison opened for them. Vai had his big Heart guitar out for “Just Like Paradise”, it wasn’t as good of a concert as 1986 though, great production but he had too much keyboards and Billy Sheehan wasn’t there. In 1986, they had a little stage near the back of the arena and Dave was yelling at Vai with different things to say “with his guitar and his wah pedal” and Steve was saying it back on guitar, it was really cool, I believe that was during “Ain’t Talkin’ Bout Love”. Sheehan did his awesome Bass solo and instead of Vai playing the tapping part of “Eruption” on his guitar, Sheehan played it on his Bass, it was amazing. When Dave set out to form a supergroup to beat Van Halen, he succeeded in flying numbers that year. I saw him in 1990 or ‘91, for the “Little Ain’t Enough” tour at the Kingswood Music Theatre at Canada’s Wonderland, it was Extreme, Cinderella, then DLR and Dave was absolutely terrible, Extreme was on their legendary “Pornografitti” tour and blew the doors off all of them. I’ve never seen a tighter band than Extreme. Cheers
@@flashy5150 It's cool you got to experience that. Toronto has changed so much. There's still a heavy rock scene but everybody is some yo yo rapper or dance hall DJ
When it comes to age, I'm in the middle of Van Halen and you. And I love that this music has made a mark in your generation, and you play it with so much love and respect. Just as Led Zeppelin and Jimy Hendrix are before my time, but I love them and respect their music. Then again, that's not new, people have had love and respect for Mozart etc for decades after they died, even today. Regardless of the time, great music is just great music. And I love how you have real respect for that, and the talent to play it...
Love the honour for the early stuff in all your videos. For me, that was 'the sound', and the entire reason I started playing guitar.......not only the tone of EVH, but the 'swing' that was so evident in all the DLR stuff that made the four of them so special. It was a moment.
Every vid I've seen this guy in, he is just flat-out kill'n it. I'm truly jealous of his talent. I wish I had that level of intensity in my playing. Fantastic job.
Lol took a drink with you i was a 20 year old when this came out and i was a big fan of this stuff then and now i anticipated every guitar note and new when they were supposed to be there and i wasnt disappointed you guys did great
Imagining having to be in a DLR cover band, you have to learn EVH, Vai, Becker, John 5.... it's crazy haha, i urge everyone to check out Deraps original tracks, they are impressive and hopefully just a start!
Honest truth. You guys sound better than the original band. Wow. I was not a fan of Dave's band back in the day. To me, they didn't have the oomph you guys have. Awesome!
This makes me realize... just how good David Lee Roth was. Sure he can't hold a tune now, but he rocked it back in the day. Nice job as always Jacob.
Under Roth watch he unleashed 2 of the greatest guitarists this planet has ever known.
Don't Jason Becker, he was in a league of his own.

@@KingPepeLePew If you are talking about Vai - I'd say Zappa unleashed him.
When I heard EVH had died..i legitimately thought about this channel. RIP supershredder / awesome song writer

Nice work! Nailed that Vai tone! I think we need a rig run down.
Hey give a shout out to the bass tone as well!

It's very hard to cover DLR, Steve, Billy but you boys did a GREAT job!
Damn you did a great job on this cover! Love the makeup too! 🤘
Absolutely superb cover considering none of you were born when this album came out.👍
Kids literally breath 80's.....Full Kudos to them!... I love it.
What difference does that make? Music is timeless not defined to a generation!
@@Danno_88 (it's a compliment)
@@Danno_88true, but it was a whole vibe. You almost had to be there but these kids capture it pretty dang well 😅
@@Danno_88 Maybe, but it sure was better in the 80's! Anyone that was there could tell ya!

Eat'em and Smile is such a good album and watching young people playing it so well brings me hope.
You definitely hit it out of the park. GREAT JOB!

I was waiting for you NOT to play the bass riff right after the second chorus, but you DID and I’m sure you made Billy Sheehan proud.
Loved this album when I was much younger. Thanks for bringing it back. The whole band did a great job.
