Hey man, was watching a bunch of various covers of this, some by (cough cough) more famous youtubers and wanted to say you really killed it timing wise during the rhythm parts. Vai's rhythm playing on the DLR stuff and the Whitesnake stuff, he has a way of laying in the groove that other people totally miss when they cover this. In that way he's a lot like EVH rhythm playing where people playing his stuff right on top of the beat end up sounding just unnatural and weird. Great job!

My gosh! I had no idea the guitar was that complex and creative in Yankee Rose. The guitar is pure genius. I don't think I have heard anything quite like it.
Nicely done man. Gorgeous Strat too. Perfect worn out out maple neck with warm, excellent tone, humbucker in the basement and an OG Floyd....that is the most versatile weapon on earth...

Hey Matt, Thank you! The strat is a fender limited edition custom shop. ‘60 or ‘63 not sure anymore. Neck has a compound radius with C shape. Jumbo frets. Bridge pick-up is a dimarzio tone-zone. The neck is something else. Couldn’t find the specsheet. 🤘🏼
I thought it would be a cool idea if you could make your guitar ask a question, like you know the little upward inflection at the end when you ask a question? Then I remembered this song...making the guitar laugh as well, so cool.
Subtle detail, those power chords at bar 113 @ 3:19, if you transpose the G and B strings down to the B and E strings while muting the G it gives it a more octavey sound, it's the way he does it live I think. Either way impeccable performance!
