You gave a PERFECT explanation of how the bulb’s short nip, actually sucks the fuel from the tank, THROUGH the carb, and the long nip, pushes the fuel back into the tank. 👍
This diagram is exact for my Poulan “WOOD SHARK MODEL 1975” and my Poulan “2055
    2.0 C.I. WOODSMAN”.

Without a doubt, the clearest and to the point video about fuel lines configuration with a purge bulb! Old habits are hard to break. So I probably continue to call them a primer bulbs🙂

If you're like me try from filter in tank line straight to carburetor inlet wherever which one then line out to primer little spout then another line out to tank

Very well explained. I was confused on a weedeater that was messed up with missing hose and rotted hose and one line placed onto the nipple that the gasket goes on?? Your video helped. Thank you

@@LarrySbrusch I installed the new fuel lines, and ran them right because of your video, started right up. Hadn't ran in years and as old Murphy would have it, the starter rope broke...
      Go figure!

Why do some videos show opposite before carburetor? And they work? Well My Homelite 2 works how you say

It is a “primer bulb” because it’s main function is that it primes the carburetor. You might be inclined to ask, “how does it prime the carburetor?” We’ll this particular primer bulb is set up to purge the carburetor of air, or evacuate the air out of the system while drawing in gasoline to replace the air, also known as priming the carburetor. Some primer bulbs are setup to force gasoline into the carburetor as a means prime it. Do you call them “force bulbs?” Of course no that would be ridiculous. No matter which way they are set up, they are both PRIMER BULBS! Say it out loud, they are all primer bulbs, primer bulbs, primer bulbs, primer bulbs!!!!!!
