I just love old school mechanics/engineers they save you a frotune they are honest decent folk if you can find one stick to them like glue because in my experiance the new breed just want to rip you off make as much as they can from you and expect you to return Well guess what I dont go back and then I learn from chaps like this and just do it myself however if I lived near to this chap I would use him all the time and give him a living that he deserves.. I just hope fella you make a few bucks from this youtube thing great vid as always and thanks for teaching us mere mortals how to repair and not throw saving both us and the god dam planet THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART I,, like most,, can not afford to buy new so depend on re vitalizing old stuff to stay in good shape in what I do CUT GRASS HEDGES etc etc !!!!
the fuel inlet screen/filter is considered a capilary screen, very fine weave, and they can get clogged and it won't be visible, not the problem here but just another tip...
@@getyourkicksagain dont go to the stihl dealers in Montgomery, Alabama! One charged me $ 24 for 12 inches of fuel line and a primer bulb after i explained i fix up,9k m
I been swapping g pieces from 3 diffrent carbs trying to get my husqvarna ld128 to run but the primer squeaks but no fuel goes into the bulb. This trimmer worked great for two years not a single problem but all of a sudden it's one thing after another with it. I'm about to wrap ut around a tree.
Have watched several of your videos and they are always excellent. I have a 2-stroke Ryobi (Zama carb I believe) which primes just fine, but when it's running, the purge bulb is completely w/o fuel. Any tips on why that might be happening? It's also hard to re-start, and I wonder if there is a connection between the two. Thanks
I have a Tanaka 2 stroke edger with a Walbro carb. It will run wide open but not idle. I've done everything I can think and check. Where should I look?
Really appreciate the great content. If not rebuilding original carb with a kit, do have any aftermarket brands you suggest and or ones to stay away from? Thanks a lot. These videos a very informative.
You must have some strong lungs. I have to use my vacuum/pressure tester to test the check valves in those white primer base assemblies. I can use my lungs to test the check valves in the carburetors but the ones on those white primer bases are strong as hell.
ZAMA C1U-K19 JD 21c weed eater air filter soaked with fuel and fuel seams to be splashing out of carb when i remove air filter and run it. any fix for this. also cant find a new air filter online to order.
Thanks Jeremy, I am rebuilding a Poulan hedge trimmer with a Zama carb and plastic purge base. True...one check valve is not working properly. The tiny rubber diaphragm has a small tear in the membrane from the spring in the check valve . I opened the valve by carefully prying out the aluminum disc which hides the spring / diaphragm and placed a small drop of superglue on the rubber flap which is thin as paper and smaller than a pencil eraser. I had to carefully do this under a microscope I use for repairing electrical circuit boards. I will see if the glue seals the rubber flap and use the trimmer until I can find a replacement base. good job on the video. I had to look for a while before I found your video but I have been your subscriber for a while. Keep up the good content. JwgK Houston Tx

But why this valve not not working, stuck with some dirt, natural wear? Any way possible fix this without replacing it?
I have a mantis tiller, same issue and sprayed son brake cleaner on those holes but didn’t make a difference then went and blow some air And now it primes, just wanna make it clear, the primer base was one of those typical pink rubber ones, so maybe that’s why I got lucky

Looks liked it worked.
Good troubleshooting tips.
What would cause this on a new carb and tune up kit? Also dies after running 10 minutes.
Good video thanks.

how did it start ?
Mine seems to be sucking through the overflow pipe and blowing back out of my fuel line, what do you think this could be?
Its backwards.
Thank you
On that particular carb, What side is for the intake line?
When I
Press the bulb it’s the one that sucks
Awesome
