Great sketch, love your mark making, especially the way you describe the brickwork. I shall definitely try putting in figures into my sketches and try out the brickwork marking. I like your minimalist colour application, it doesn’t detract from your sketch.
Great Sketch Doug!So glad you added figures and full marks for winging them!I can only imagine you can do this from your head because of many times you have drawn people before..I must admit I’m reluctant to sketch people and always need a reference,I have trouble doing shoes\boots etc, they never look right lol!Back to your sketch,I love how the sky turned out from your magic brush!!The colours are perfect in the foreground and make the sketch pop!I prefer sketches when they just have parts painted rather than the whole scene much more interesting. One thing missing Doug…a little doggie,I would have put a little doggie in lol!Great little tutorial and keep the comedy coming..great fun!!😂❤
I think the colour is about right I like it, my Etchr sketchbook has quite buff coloured pages unlike yours which are very white but they take ink and paint really well.
I do hope (but I’m fairly confident) that I’m the only person that thought “Oohh, I hope he mentions gas made from rendering rotting whale blubber in Whitby” when you started talking about a gas powered street lamp!😂
❤❤❤❤
Love how you paint the sky.. 🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️
Thanks

Awesome, thank you!
“Why would you want to do that? I don’t hear you ask.” 😂🤣😂 I love how your people bring the scene to life.
Glad you like the sillyness.
Just fine as it is
Thanks 😁

Oh yeah! A little dog would've been a lovely addition. 😁
@ Yes one with a waggle tail!😉😆❤️
I like this reduced use of colour with a lot aof empty spaces. It's sometimes difficult to stop adding colours.
I know. It's hard to stop.

Yes Ethcr sketchbooks are growing on me I must admit.
Thanks for the demo but it's a bit complicated for me without the subtitles 😞
Sorry about that
