I never thought about using water soluble. Wow. Your art is fresh. Has heart and soul. Lovely for me to see, thank you. I am a botanical artist and trying to be more spontaneous…. Not easy when I have had to be so strict. This video has really helped me 🙏🏼💕
Hi Doug, I have been following your work for a while now, you are a talented artist, and I'm happy I found your channel. Thank you for sharing. Cheers my friend.
Your videos are fabulous. Thank you for sharing! I'm new to your channel and love your teaching approach. Plus the side notes like what some have done when they run out of water. hahahah I learned something new today. Again, appreciate your content. I was an illustrator for over 20 years in children's publishing and my lines were so tight due to my assignments. I have wanted to get into urban sketching (loose lines and wash) as my hobby and this helps me greatly. Look forward to learning more from you.
Inspiring demo Doug! I now have a Diamine 6 color sampler set in my shopping cart just waiting to pull the trigger. Though I assure you I have no plans to pee in any cups. 😆
I really enjoyed your demonstration. I tried this technique without instruction and I had way to much water applied to the sketch and ended up with a muddy picture. Just using water on the shadows makes way more sense. Thank you!
@@nourhanbalian3294 That depends on a huge amount of variables such as the pen, humidity, how long its used etc but i'd guess you be OK for a few weeks between uses. it won't actually damage it even if it dries but it will bung it up meaning the pen will need stripping and cleaning. Soluble ink will do the same but you can normally flush or soak the old ink out. I hope that helps.😁
I'm just getting into fountain pens, dip pens, line and wash. I found this very helpful, thanks.
Thank you so much..👍
I absolutely LOVE doing this. Thank you, this is right up my street 😃
That's great to hear 😁

Thanks Mary. Yes I find its good to have a balance of white and dark. Mistakes are the best way to learn so super important. Keep creating
Thanks Mary. It does take a little practice but I love the technique 😁😁
Need suggestions with watercolour waterproof ink, and fountain pen to buy that does not clog thanks
I have some other vids that cover the pens options and a great place to start is Platinum Carbon Black ink for a black waterproof (when dry) ink. 😁
@@dougjacksonart how long I can keep it inside the fountain pen, without damaging it, don't send me to another link, straight answers please thanks

What color and brand? I just love it and want the color. Thanks.
That ink is Randell Blue Black fron Nick Stewart.
Please, do you remember what ink you used? The colour is so nice ❤
This is Randell Blue Black made by my friend Nick Stewart. nickstewart.ink/shop/
what is the name of the water soluble ink you used?
Its Randell Blue black ink by Nick Stewert. Search for 'quick and bleach ... randell blue black' 👍
@@dougjacksonart Thanks 👍
What is the fountain pen and ink? It looks like water soluble ink.
This ink is Nick Stewart's Randell Blue Black. But any water soluble ink is fine. The pen os an old Parker pen but any fountain or dip pen will work.
